Gas Gas

  1. Morning, As per my other thread, I'm trying to fix a running problem with my 2003 TXT300. I ditched the Ducati ignition system, and replaced it with a Kokusan complete system (Flywheel, stator, cdi, regulator, rectifier and coil). It'll run fine, then restart and it runs like crap (like the timing is out). I'm trying to ID the flywheel. Going through the wiring diagrams, it seems I have fitted a 1996-2000 Kokusan ignition system, my flywheel is stamped 'FP8102'. Anyone with a similar year bike able to confirm they have the same flywheel fitted? Most I see on ebay from around that year are stamped 'FP5367'. Also does anyone know what th…

Does anyone know if 19 model GP bike will use the same front brake as the TRS Gold edition?

  3. Started by drca,

I scored a complete Tech Fork setup for a reasonable price to replace my Marzocchi (which has scratched and bent tubes...) on my 2013 TXT Pro. The setup comes complete with the fork, axle and triple clamp. The front wheel axle on the Tech is 20mm vs 25mm on the Marzocchi. I assume the front hub on the Gas Gas are the same whether they are used on the Tech of Zooch and only the bearings and spacer change (and with the addition of a spacer on the brake rotor). From what I have seen on the 2013 TXT Factory Replica Gas Gas part list (which has the Tech fork), the front bearings part number is C160001 which look like 6004-2RS (20 x 42 x 12). Which would mean, aga…

Hi all, newbie here. I recently purchased a very used 2003 TXT Pro and quickly proceeded to torpedo the top end. Valuable lesson learned not to pin a 18 year old trials bike too hard up a long hill in the heat After pulling it apart it seems the cylinder is still smooth, only one thin vertical scratch. However you can see where the nikasil coating has worn through. General question: I only use this bike for practice and enduro skills development, as such I have a limited budget and would like to keep repairs as affordable as possible. Do you think a new piston & rings could be sufficient for low & slow riding? Any advice or vendors (US based here…

  8. I am getting a 2010 300 Pro next week and would like to get either the low compresion head insert or the head spacer kit. Is there a differance between the two? Which one am I better off with? Would I be better off with a flywheel weight instead of going the compression reducer route? Thanks

  11. I am trying to bleed the rear brakes on one of my trial bikes a 2005 Gas Gas TXT 125 Pro I just found out that trying to bleed the rear brake is not an easy job. I have changed the rear barke caliper with a new one since the bleed screw was broken when i bought the bike I have also replaced the rear brake reservoir with a new original one since i managed to ruin the rubber gasket/seal on the old rear brake reservoir First i tried by filling up the rear brake reservoir with brake fluid and push the brake lever but it seems that no brake fluid is coming into the brake pump. I have also tried to backbleed the rear brakes using a large syringe and p…

Also I managed to get trapped between the bike and a tree yesterday and I have melted my pants and my skin from my right leg on the the front pipe (titanium) anyone had any luck cleaning marks off the front pipe without scratching the finish ?

Hello, Let me introduce myself briefly. My name is Alex and I am an Gasgas enthusiast from Holland. I've been in the middle of hot fires, but now I'm clueless. Herr’s my problem, I hoop you can help me? Gasgas TXT 300 from 2004 does not want to start What have I already done: Kick starter gear replaced. Replace ignition coil. Replace CDI unit. Replace the voltage regulator. Carburetor ultrasonically cleaned. New spark plug. New piston and cylinder replaced. Strangely, he sometimes starts in 1 or 2 kicks but after stopping he starts very difficult (10 to 15 stairs) most of the time he doesn't start a…

Hi All, I have a 2003 Edition that's showing her age and I'm finding it difficult to find parts, plus I live in France, so it's also a question of vocabulary. I'm currently looking for the two o rings that sit inside the exhaust muffler as it is blowing there between the muffler and box. Plus I have a tubeless rear tyre which is new but still leaking air from two of the spokes so want to replace the tape that sits inside but where to find this? Tried all my local shops but nothing and searched on line. Any suggestions please?

I currently have a problem with my ohlins shock on my gasser 300 racing 2010 model. I took the old rose joint bearing out the bottom threaded end of the shock as it was pretty knackered ( the larger of the two bearings) and sourced a new bearing for it. When the new bearing arrived i could push it through the eye with my fingers! Ive since put the old bearing back in as at the time i couldnt source a new one but have since found that the shock is moving and pushing out the bearing. I now need to somehow get the bearing replaced or shocker body sorted. My questions are Has anyone else had this problem and have you found a solution? What is the correct procedure for in…

Was almost convinced on the gasser and then my mates 08 kick start went it was the funny shaped cog just inside casing and was told this is a common thing. Has it been sorted for 09? And anything else i should look out for??

Hi, my sons txt racings fuel tank is leaking from the spigot that the the fuel tap pushes into. I thought it was the tap but its the spout/spigot that the tap pushes into. On further inspection it is threaded into the tank with a bonding agent at the factory, the part is not available a on its own it comes as part of a new tank. I was wondering if anybody else has had this happen and what you used to seal it ? I have ordered some JB weld plastic bond which is apparently fuel resistant, but any other ideas would be very welcome. cheers.
