When kicking the bike over you can feel it kind of "crunch" and engage normally, and occasionally the kickstart gets stuck halfway down, as if the teeth of the kickstart have popped out and havent engaged properly. Anybody have any advice on what will/might need replacing? I can take it all apart no problem, but unless its blindingly obviously broken I wont really know what needs replacing.

  4. I have a 2013 gas gas raga replica and I have noticed the damage that is being caused by the front brake hose rubbing on yoke and right hand fork leg I have spoken to other replica owners all with the same fault I e mailed gas gas uk about this problem they said they have never come across this fault I also checked with gas gas parts the clip holding the hose is correct for model eventually the fork will leak because of hose rubbing coating off fork if you have replica check for same damage if so take some pictures and send them to gas gas along with frame no. These parts are expensive to replace Yours Chris laws.

Hi, i'm trying to clean up my front brake caliper but I can't manually push the pistons back in, they won't budge? One has moved out more than the other three but none of them will push back? I've taken the cap of the lever reservoir and tried cracking open the bleed nipped but no movement? Help!! Cheers

Its a long time since I've had a two stroke and they were always autolube. Can anyone advise premix ratio for a 98 TX270? Road use between off road sections Previous owner said 33:1 but I wasn't convinced (more my nagging doubt than any concern about previous owner) Thanks

I've got a friend who does suspensions here in the states and took on the rebuild of a set of 40mm Marzocci's off a 2012 txt pro. Somehow he managed to snap off the flat blade screwdriver end of the aluminum insert at the end of the compression damping rod. He was unable to find a replacement here in the States and asked me about it as I ride trials. Last time I called Marzocci USA about parts for my 2014 GG enduro they were of no help and soon to discontinue supplying forks and parts for dirtbikes. Anyone out there have a good source for replacing that damping rod? Thanks in advance.

  16. Is there any way to bench test the transmission to make sure it cycles through all the gears, I have my lower gears but it doesn’t seem like I have my higher gears, I have heard they are difficult to bench test is this true or should you be able to get some gears on the bench, I’m not sure if there is anything that could be out of whack, everything went together nice, ?

Hello, first wanted to say what a great site. I picked up a 2009 Gas Gas 300 TXT Pro as my first trials bike and having a blast. though I am trying to work out the carb settings....it seems to smoke more than I think it should, at least compared to my other other 2 bikes(KTM and YZ125) and seems to be using more fuel than what I expect. Just playing around the yard with 1/2 idle and 1/2 clearing it out with modest throttle( no more than 1/2 throttle) it seems to burn about 40oz of fuel in a 15-20 session. it has plenty of power. I am at 350ft above sea level and has the following settings which is how I received it: Dellorto Carb 118 Main, 35 Pilot, D3…

  18. Hi all, I've had a frustrating few weeks of coolant problems, tired leaking pipes, jubilee clips and coolant dripping here, there and everywhere. Finally diagnosed/realised that the coolant hose insert into the barrel of my 2004 125 txt pro is very slightly weeping. I removed the insert (which was only just finger tight) and cleaned it up and when checking the fibre washer, it just disintegrated. Bought a new fibre washer to replace it but just wondering if I should use some form of sealant on the threaded insert, some thing like gasket sealant or PTFE tape for instance? Thoughts and advice appreciated.

Hi chaps,i need to sort this dragging clutch out on my sons bike.its not a major problem but i just want it right for him. I`ve been advised to buy a new clutch pack, but before i do,has anyone had the same problem??,i know about measuring the plates etc,but i`ve been told that it could be the `o`ring behind the top hat thingy behind the casing thats worn. The lever is nice and light, clutch operation is smooth, and yes i have back bled the clutch from the casing. Another thing is that although its dragging when lever is pulled back to the bars, the biting point is in what i would say is a normal position. Got any tips??? Thanks in advance

We fitted new mains bearings in my mates Gas Gas pro 250 as he said it was knocking, he has just finished rebuilding it and started it for the first time-but he says it is still knocking! I have not been to see it yet but what else could it be? Little end bearings were ok, we checked for any up and down play there. Could it be piston/rings? Help please we just want to get out on bikes again.
