I have recently bought a 1976 Sherpa T 350 model 183 which I have not yet taken delivery of due to it being in transit from a few thousand kilometres away, should see it soon. The pics I have of it, show it wearing a Mikuni or a TMK or something. Basically, I want to return it to std once it arrives and I have a worn Bing T84 (28mm) that I just bought on flea-bay that I want to refurb and fit to this bike, I know that this will require new inlet/outlet rubbers but they are easily sourced from places like in-motion. I have just finished rebuilding my 1976 325 Sherpa after many years of storage. Way back I converted it to a Mikuni carb as was the fashion years ago but now am going back to the Bing unit based on the comments I have read on other posted topics. The bike was not run for long with the Bing and the slide is not loose in the body so I think it is in reasonable condition. I have it running and it idles nicely but when opening the throttle from idle the power comes in quicker than I would like, I would expect it to be a smoother transition as the throttle is opened. Is there a standard/preferred size for the main jet in a Bing 84 as fitted to a 350 Sherpa. Mine has a 123 fitted, is that suitable or should I change it?

I an taking a bit of a guess here .... but I don't think the slide should look like this.... Plus the pilot jet playing silly buggers and not coming out for cleaning and the needle being rusted up signed it's death warrant..... OKO on order......

The carb slide in my 199A is badly peened where it contacts the idle speed screw, I can't elevate the slide enough for a strong idle before the idle screw bottoms out in the carb body. I haven't found a new slide here in the USA and I'm not sure I can get one from the UK in time for the next meet. The slide is in good shape other than the contact spot with the idle screw. Has anyone repaired a slide like mine? I'm thinking I could thread a small brass screw into the slide to give a new surface for the idle screw to contact would give me back my idle adjustment. I'm guessing the slide might be plated zinc, or somesuch metal. Does anyone have any suggestions for me, o…

have had this in the shed for 20 odd years. i know that it is a M92 engine, and i think that it is a model 159 frame, the swing arm has been beefed up/modified. i have been told that the tank is a commerford aftermarket tank. Can anyone confirm my thoughts?

Does anyone know where I can get a stick-on B&W number plate for my (1967) Sherpa. I've found a few places that do rectangular ones, but non that do those old 60's style B&W ones that will stick to the rear mudguard. I dont really want to mount a flat plate, Id rather stick one on so it bends round the rear mudguard without sticking out.

hello all ive just bought a 198A with white mudgards and would like to put original blue mudgards on. but cant seem to buy the darker blue ones dose anybody know were i can buy them from?

Going along with the theory that there's no such thing as a silly question, what is the bolt behind the seat loop on the Sherpa? Is it to secure some sort of a rear light?

hello has anybody any ideas on what to put on the frame to stop boot rub? ive just painted my frame so tyring to keep the paint from rubing off. ive tryed black tape on another bike i had but dosant stay on to long pitty they didnt make a frame guard like they do for the moden bikes.

Hi, sorry new to Bultacos so I've loads of questions as I strip down my newly acquired Sherpa 198A! My front drum is the 'standard' chrome finish, it is in 'reasonable' condition with a few pits and marks. However, the rear drum appears to have had a steel ring inserted at some point which (possibly due to being unused for years) is dull. Was this a standard modification when chrome wore and/or to improved braking effect? It worked on quick test ride but I've no experience of brakes effectiveness (pedal is on left and rod connected which I understand is more effective than swapping to right with cable). Are ring inserts available for the front drum? And (fo…

Hi all I have the dreaded chrome drums on my 199b and need to fit some cast inserts, are there some available or is it a case of making some out of cast pipe ect.

I have a 1968 Campera. How do I wire the brake light switch, as I have a feed wire coming into the switch from the frame then another wire running from brake switch to the resister before heading to the brake light bulb. If I disconnect the two wires from each other at the brake switch the bike stops running. If the two wires touch ground the bike stops running?

I've recently acquired a very late model 199b. Likely one of the last dozen built. In any case like most of these bikes the chrome lining has peeled off both brake drums. Over the years on this forum and elsewhere I've read how good the puma or Vazquez brakes are. My question is this. Where is the cast iron sourced from? What size can you get it in. I have a machinist that can install it but we are having issues on where to buy the material. Any thoughts ? Steve

So, I didn't take enough pics when disassembling and I need some verification for my mod 165 Alpina. I believe I have the pivot part sorted out, but there was a spring in the bag of brake parts that I thought was a pedal return spring. There's a hole in the pedal that looks about right for it and it looks like the spring has worn a few grooves into the pedal it self but I don't see where the other end of the spring could attach to anything. Maybe there's a hole in the swingarm bushing or something? Most pics online either have an earlier assembly or are unclear. Some look like they have the hole but no spring. Is there supposed to be a return spring, and if so, where does…

Hello I have a model 92 Sherpa T 350 that I purchased as a basket case. I am trying to figure out if I have the correct rear brake plate. I have 2 rear brake plates but don’t really know how to tell if one of them is correct or not . I believe mine is an early 70’s model. Any help or pics you can post would be appreciated. I will see if I can some also.
