A little slow on the forum so I thought I,d post a few pics of the progress on my brothers 199A/B look-a-like.It,s had it,s share of glitches going back together, but it is getting closer now. Also a pic of the brake pedal I,m making for my A model so I can brake on the left with a rod instead of a cable. It still needs finishing but the rough draft seems to work.

Finally managed to get hold of one at last its in bits (engines ok) but the frames had all the braze on fittings ground off it. If anyone would like to measure me the length of the chain tensioner bracket from hole to swingarm and also the distance up from the swingarm pivot to the rear cable stop I would be pretty gratefull. I`ve already fitted a montesa type head steady as I`ve seen a few with this mod and the ht coil had been moved further back down the frame, but I cant think why. Its also had some work done to the rear shock mounts as they`ve been rewelded on above the rear spindle to make the shocks lay over. I was going to put them back to standard but think i`l…

Is the 340 front pipe unique to this model, or is it the same as other 350 models. The one on my 340 is serviceable but has some dents , I know you can get these out but I'd rather put the money towards a replacement than renovate what I have. Thanks.

Could anyone please post a picture of the alloy head steady used on some of the 199bs? I need a shot with the tank off showing the front frame mount. I have the standard pressed steel one - were the alloy ones better? - looks stronger with 3 fixing points? many thanks

Hi all just returning a heavily modified 199b back to original and seem to have a clutch problem, first off the clutch arm has been extended (more throw, lighter action maybe) and also with both balls and rod in position to set up centre adjuster I screw in to just touch top hat and back out 1/4 turn, but it only leaves about 3 threads on centre pin, not good, I'm thinking the rod is too short maybe, I would like to see some threads above nut face at least, any measurements would be helpful, clutch is operating OK, or maybe a problem at the lever side🤔 Cheers.

Hello everyone. I'm trying to confirm what the first two letters stamped on the crankcase before the hyphen and the numbers should be ?????? One I'm looking at doesn't look right, in as much the whole stamping is slightly wonky and the first two letters look like JM. I already own a 198 and the engine number on that starts RM followed by the numbers which are nice and straight and about 5mm from the clutch housing gasket. The wonky 199B number is about 10mm above the gasket line, and the stamped numbers and letters are not perfectly in line and a bit bigger than the 198. The frame number on the 199B looks good, starting JB and numbers and letters look correct. Nicely…

Hi all, I have a 199B spitting fork oil out of the vent holes in the caps. I am used to a little around the holes but these are spitting oil onto the tank and engine etc. - Any ideas how to fix this? - How do the caps come apart to clean the vent valve? Thanks! Keep your feet up!

My 199b's frame number ends in 4661. The Bultaco site for model identification shows 199,012,876 to 199,014,653 as start and finish numbers. That puts mine out of their parameters. Any ideas guys.

Hi All Happy New Year Can anyone help with a problem on a 340 model 199B six speed gearbox ? Looking for a sleeve gear like in the photo....just with all of the teeth on it. I have tried Dave Renham at InMotion and Bellavista in Barcelona without any luck. Don't mind new or used, just hoping to get it all back together and running again. Cheers Martin

If you've seen this already in my previous posts I apologise, but didn't want to have it overlooked. It came as a spare with the bike I've just bought that was owned previously by an Engineer, the bracket looks to be a home fabrication. Just curious if having a hard rubber bush between the two plates would not compromise what it was trying to achieve. As the original and aftermarket triangular ones are rigid.
