Does anyone please know if a clubfoot type silencer is a direct replacement (same brackets on frame and silencer) for the banana type rear silencer on a Bultaco Sherpa Model 124.

  3. Hi ,in trying to trace the history of an early 5 speed model 27 it may be best firstly to find out who was actually riding them in the European and national series . I'm not sure if Sam was riding directly for the factory at this stage or even if the concession had moved to comerfords from the Rickman brothers at new Milton .It was certainly around this period but I don't know for sure . So who else was riding the 1st 5 speed models in the autumn of 1967 apart from Sam ? As I have said in a previous thread I know Don smith bought his own and Benny Crawford rode one and the whearabouts of these 2 bikes are known , any help in this would be greatly appreciated , thanks

Since we are on the subject of 199s I have a question about the rear brake. I just converted my 199a from a left brake / right shift back to a left shift / right brake set up. I used an original bultaco cable that runs through the frame from the right brake lever to the left break drum. While the brake does not work nearly as good (as I expected) as it did with the rod action of left brake peddle set up it does not work nearly as good as I thought the cable might work. I find the right brake lever comes up to high for easy access with the foot and the braking action of the rear wheel is less than I thought it would be. Do any of you have any tricks or advice on how to g…

Hi, I'm rebuilding a '70 Sherpa T and was wondering if anyone has experience with gas tank restoration. The bike ran fine until it sat in a barn for the last few decades. I'm wondering the best way to clean it out and if sealing the inside is recommended. I have zero experience with fiberglass tanks. Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks. Ryan California USA

One brilliant side effect of this Social Isolation is that I have plenty of garage time to finally get dug into my 199B restoration. I notice this evening when attempting to fit the rear shocks that one of the threaded dowls to hold the Shocks to the Swinging arm has been powder Coated inside and has clogged the threads. What size tap must I use to redress the threads. Is it Metric or Metric Fine? Here a link of the type of screws and washers I’ll be using. https://www.inmotiontrials.com/product/rear-shock-fixing-kit-silver/

Was doing a bit of a clear out over the Christmas and New Year, basically making room for some ongoing projects. So amongst all the usual bits and pieces I unearthed my original Owners Manual from my very first Trials bike, my 199 Sherpa T. So I put it aside carefully and said I'll have a good at that later. So I'm leafing through it last night and what do I find only the original Certificate of Date of Sale, which I didn't know was even in it. As you can see the bike was originally sold in Oct 1977, I bought the bike from the original owner in 1979 and kept it until 1985, current whereabouts unknown. As you can see from the photos below, it's a very early Sher…

Fairly simple question but are there two types of fixing the front pipe to the barrel on later 350s? The first one being the sleeve and spring type but is there also a pipe with a captive plate that holds the pipe on against a flanged end?

Can you get front mudguard stays like these, they seem to lift the mudguard up a bit higher off the wheel ..... may be better in the mud ? These have one stay coming straight up in line with the fork leg. any feed back please BR

  20. Started by rileys,

Got my model 158 started today first time in a number of years. i was putting a kill switch on and putting the earth wire to the frame there are 3 colours on the frame but the bottom colour was dark blue. I think that was original. as it was a bugger to get to shiny metal. The bike was 1st registered in 1976. Would be nice if someone new the answer. Greg. R
