Hi, just stripped the first fork leg ready for new seals.....the `oil` that came out was disgusting, thin, watery and smelly!! Is the screw always a pig to remove? (still haven`t got it out yet but haven`t tried with a vengance) The spring measures 17", is this the correct length? And how much new oil goes in, what grade? Sorry but the bike is a Mk2, 1974ish. Cheers, basketcase.

I found this place on-line and thought I'd post it up as a good source of Ossa spares: http://trialstribulations.net/index.php?main_page=index&manufacturers_id=7 I got a little order today with a few spare parts only 11 days delivery from the UK to Australia. The order was really well packaged, good service. I am in no way affiliated with these guys, just a happy customer.

My first post on here and hoping my fellow ossa owners may have some ideas. I have a 2011 280i, I'm having an issue with it starting. It was running fine at a recent trial. I parked bike up, killed engine and went to walk the section. Couple of minutes later came back to the bike and it just wouldn't start I checked plug and have spark, it also runs with a drop of fuel in cylinder until it's burnt off. I'm thinking it's possibly the fuel pump or whatever sends a signal to that. Anyone had this issue or any ideas for cause??

I'm thinking of having a go at trilas riding and as I own a couple of Ossa Road and Road Race bikes its got to be an OSSA for the dirt. After 35 years of riding on the road a recent go at a twin shock trial on an Yam TY 175 was a batism of fire for me, with everything I though I knew about riding a bike being turned on its head. I'm thinking of getting either a TR77 or a TY 80. Reeding different comments on the web there seems to be some issues with the handling of the TY 80 but no one seems to say exactly what or why it has issues. I know Mick Andrews didn't like it but again I don't know why. Can anyone shed some light on the what were the 'issues' wit…

Anyone have any instructions how to maintain those Marzocchi forks on the newer Ossa TR-series? Mine's 2013 model with fairly good amount of usage, so thought about doing some maintenance on the forks. Haven't found any instructions how to open 'em Marzocchi aluminium forks, seal replacement, how much oil or any oil level marker on filling? Any info, photos or links on this would be highly apreciated! TIA, Margus

As The topic says, I want too fit a long life chain to the Ossa, as I am in sand, mud and dust a lot. I am told the chain is wider by a little but uncertain as to how much and whether it will round the drive sprocket. I know I have to increase the size of the chain tensioner cage. Any clues?

From the backgound of enduro and loads of oilchanges I thougt that a simple fork oilservice would be a pice of cake, but no! Read some helpful information but not realy a complete explination. So, went for the classic counted the clicks to max, back to fully release pressure at minus and then loosen the cap. (Drained the oil from the lowest bolt first). Did all the refilling and air bleeding but when mounting the cap, with the unusal rod stuck to the cap this drives the rod to bottom?!! Leaving no chance of changing the clicks? Do I have to mount cap/rod at max + so that I later can loosen the compression nut to right set of clicks? And what is the standard set of c…

Was at Jim Hoellerich's museum this past weekend and saw two beautiful 1980 Yellow Grippers. I would like to know how these bikes compare to similar twin shocks and how well they perform in competition. Any information is appreciated.

I have an Amal carburettor with the number 627 cast into it and 429 stamped into it. Is this the standard mar carburettor? The main jet is a 140 and the needle jet is a 106. Are these somewhere near correct? My new (to me) mar has apparently come from Italy if that might make a difference

Can anyone give me some sort of idea what kind of run time / mileage I can expect while trail riding on a TR280i? I've seen a few people mention running out of fuel and I'm a bit paranoid re-fueling at every opportunity but am thinking of doing a longer ride we normally do on the Enduro bikes and worried about the fuel situation.

After almost 2 1/2 years rebuilding my '75 mar I'm almost nearing completion!! The spark plug in the bike is a Champion RN7YC and a NGK 6 ES came as a spare. What is the recommended (best) plug to put in? Now for the really stupid question.....how many gears should there be? I'm more used to jap and Brit bikes, well that's my excuse! Oh, and which way do they shift, 1st up or down? Cheers in advance.

Im doing up a '74 Ossa 250 MAR and ordered a the replacement alloy tank for it. When the tank arrived it looked great but its too narrow by 10 mm at the front where it goes over over the rubber mounts. I can modify the dowls and rubber mounts on the frame with a grinder and shoehorn the tank on but would much prefer get the correct tank.. Any advice???? Jim

Hi Just seeing if anyone can tell me what grade or type of engine oil I should put in my Ossa TR77 Verde 250 1979. I’m fitting new clutch plates tomorrow that are coming from inmotion but just wanted to make sure on the oil before refill etc. I have tried to look in to this but it seems to be mixed reviews on what should be used.
