Anyone know which are the best fully waterproof socks available? I mean normal socks NOT the socks that come with hebo/diadora boots Have got some old Alpinestar goretex ones but they are getting a bit leaky Any ideas? and where to buy from? cheers

Thought I'd share what I've found to be the best for waterproofing boots. http://www.altberg.co.uk/leder-gris/product/leder-gris-xtreme/ I've used it on my black Gaerne boots since new and it's very good and only £5 a tin which lasts ages. It's also available in Clear which will be good for the pro's in their white boots - ideal for Scott cheers Michael

I have a pair of Beta trials pants, 2011 version I think, (refer to attached photograph) having the light blue colour rather than the later bark blue, and I am attempting to find a matching top. Is anybody aware of where I might locate such an item (preferably in XL size)? The local Beta agents (Australia) have not been able to assist as the top is now out of production. Second hand, in good condition, would be acceptable, although new would be preferable.

Evening all, does anybody have a clothing size guide for Beta’s range of paddock clothing? Ive spoken to Beta UK who couldn’t help and I haven’t managed to find anything online. I’d like to buy my lad a soft shell jacket but don’t want to guess the size as he’s only 10. If anybody has a size small or medium could you tell me the measurements? Thanks!

Tried a couple of helmets at XXL and they are not bigger enough, can't find any larger than this.... does anyone make bigger helmets ? measured at 64cm so at the top of most size charts for XXL

I,m looking to buy a workshop type stand a was wondering what everyone else uses or recomends, i have been looking at the Apico fixed stands and the o nes with a handle to lift the bike up higher to work on. Hi all . I am looking for some protection , not full torso , more to protect my shoulders . I know this may seem a bit OTT but I have an old war wound / damage that I would like to protect should I fall off . I know the idea is not to fall off but I am the clumsy type . Does anyone know who stocks and sales 'Boot Buddy' in the UK or by mail order? I have seen a few guys with them and now want a pair. It looks like a elasticated cover that goes over the boot top and riding trousers to stop all the mud and crap going down your boots. The ones I've seen have been red with Boot Buddy UK * USA in white lettering. I asked the guys who had them and they got them at a show but need to know a supplier. Did try Goggling it but to no avail.. Any help much appriciated.

Got some new boots yesterday after months of riding around in shot boots, as they weren't cheap I'm obviously trying to prolong the life of them by as much as possible. Few questions for you! Best way to clean them? Fine brush and hosepipe alright? I guess I shouldnt use chemicals on them? Best way to dry insides without drying out the outer material? Aftercare - Dubbing all over, working as much into the stitching whilst still moist, yeah? Maybe best to do this before drying, then go over quickly after again? Hi there, yes I'm well aware there is numerous other threads pertaining to boots. However I have not really found anything useful in my choice of new boots. I am looking for honest reviews, pro's & con's of the Sidi, Gearne, and Alpinestar brand of boots. I have so far gathered this limited amount of info (feel free to correct it, if I am misinformed). I currently wear a size 44 Gearne boot, with a wool sock and it feels like it has some slop, but I am only 16, so there is the potential for growth as well I would like to incorporate wearing seal skins on the days it requires, so I am unsure on sizing. I have wanted a boot dryer for ages. There are dozens of different sorts online but the only ones that possibly appealed to me were very expensive, and I still couldn't be sure they would be right when they arrived. So finally I made my own, which saved some money, exactly fits my requirements and it was satisfying to make something rather than just flashing my card. The hair dryer was under £10 from Argos and I'm running it on low setting. The rest is 40mm waste pipe. Does anyone here use a boot dryer? Which type is recommended? My research has found 2 basic types, with many variations: Heated inserts. Garne boots are a good fit for me but they do not offer a lot of protection. Once aged a bit, they feel like bedroom slippers so I want something with more protection. I have been using MSR dual sport boots but they are obsolete. I just ordered some Alpinestars but when I tried them on, they are too narrow in the ball/ toe area and skinny in the calf area. Reviews suggest that SIDI is also small in the toe area. Is there another brand that is wide in the front, has plenty of room in the calf and offers better protection. How is the fit with Forma? I've just bought some new Forma Boulder boots to replace my Alpinestars which have given up after five years. To be fair they have been soaked and dried very week with no further care. I am keen to get the boots to last and have gone black instead of white which look like crap after a few rides. The question is what product is best for the boot preparation, softening of leather and preserving etc. Ive heard that Neats foot oil is good but others ay its full of petroleum which is not good. Advice?

Have picked up some new trials boots this weekend (forma boulder) and went to dig out my trusty dubbin only to find that its nearly empty. I have been using for years a brand known as "active dubbin in a tube" and have found it very good as its a gel type substance whch goes on easy and soaks in a treat now the problem is they have stopped producing it and was wondering has anyone else used a similar product that they can recommend thanks in advance
