Just bought a new 250 gas gas. Contacted Bennett's who insured my 300 and renewed it 3 days ago. They won't insure the new bike even though I've a spotless record and the bike less powerful. They say that their underwriters just won't cover it. Go Aviva to accept it no problem, go figure. Just thought I'd warn everyone with Bennett's that they appear to be changing their thinking on trials bikes.

Hi All, Just after some advise on the current situation and if anyone had been in the same situation as myself. I had a Bete Evo 300cc 2015 Trials bike stolen in September 2016, this was insured through a well known high street insurer. When insured the trials bike I explained that it was for off road use and had no v5 or any road lights. Plus also no key for ignition. The trials bike was used for off road practice and competition. When the trials bike got stolen I went through the general routine ie informing police, issued with crime number and also informing the Insurance company. A few weeks the later the claim was successful and paid the near full am…

Will cops now start targeting road trials. Heard reports from a couple of rider's, that a cop just happen to be passing a road trial last month and he decided to pull everyone that came out the farm track on to the road. Did them for small number plates and tyres not for road use. If true, it could be the thin end of the wedge and it may give them the idea to set up outside these trials for easy money. Anyone heard about it or was it just a rumour.

Hi all I am new to trials riding and i am probably asking a silly question what has been answered hundreds of time before but, i have just bought a 2007 beta 250 road registered so i can drive from my home 2 miles up the road to some local trials area's. I thought if my bike was insured, taxed, and a daytime mot this would be fine. I also have been told that trials tyres are not road legal and i could be issued with 6 points and a further 3 for the wrong sized number plate. I am slightly confused to how you can be issued a mot with none legal road tyres or a correct size number plate, and also dont fancy getting points. Hope someone can shed some light on the topic and sor…

Hi, I just wondered if anyone has seperate insurance for their bike while in transport, i.e on a rack or trailer. I'm pretty sure that my car insurance won't cover it and at the moment I've not been too worried as my bike is only worth sub £1000 but I'm thinking about purchasing something a bit newer and more expensive and would like it covered? Cheers, Gary.

Hello all, Can you all please share how big your number plate is? How is it attached (stuck to mudguard, on a bracket)? Have you had any issues if it's a non legal size? I know how big they should be but its just not that practical. Ideally I just want a sticky one to stick to the rear mudguard but before I made a purchase I thought I would see what you are all using to get an idea. Thanks fellow riders. Chris.

struggling to get the new bike insured, can anyone with the new Ossa tell me who they are insured with or anyone recommend me a company. I have tried all the usual suspect but no one lists the TR280i will probably need a specialist broker.

Bike in for an MOT tomorrow and trying to work out how best to attach the plate? I have a legal (9"x7") plate and a smaller plate for off road use. The MOT tester is pretty off-road friendly, so hopefully they'll cut me some slack in this regard. Looking at the rear mudguard (Beta Rev 3 4T) , I can't see it taking the weight of the standard plate without dropping it onto the tyre. I guess I'll have to make up a bracket and secure it to the top of the mudguard where the plastic is a bit more substantial. Any other ideas?
