Would any of you folks that have switched to 4 strokers since 05 consider going back 2 stroke if the price or circumstance was right? What if anything would make you change back to 2 stroke? Aaron

Whilst doing some googling I spotted this Motobi trials special and thought I'd post it. The frame/swingarm and forks are not OEM Motobi parts. cheers, Michael

Munch was wondering if you have your bike yet. Apparently Appleyards had them to test at Moto 1. sandifords had them at the Scott! My local dealer says it will now be next week before they appear? Wonder what the hold up is now

Are there any differences between carbs fitted to two strokes and 4 strokes? For example I have a spare Mikuni originally fitted to a Beta Zero, can I fit it to a four stroke honda engine? I understand the jetting may need changing but is there any other differences I need to be aware of. I ask because I seem to remember that Amal concentrics are engine type specific.

Yup, I've deleted two threads on the subject, but feel an explanation is necessary. Firstly Sherco were not happy that this was published as it was unofficial. I contacted them and said I was NOT going to publish it without their approval. I did (reluctantly) get clearance from them to post the video from the 15th, but as the smallest part of this video was 19Mb and, in my opinion, not worth the valuable bandwidth and inevitable slowdown of the site for other users, I decided not to post it. I do not care what other websites choose to publish. This site exists solely for the promotion of the sport and that includes manufacturers and distributors as well as clubs and rid…

Most of the top world riders were in Spain for last weekends Spanish National in preparation for the upcoming worlds I noticed that there were seven factory riders on 4 strokes in the top 11 and only four riders on 2 strokes.

Does anybody know anything about if or when beta might release a four stroke to the public? I suppose a broader question is, what is the status of the law-suit that had been supposedly filed by gas-gas/beta with the FIM? The crux of that suit pertained to the fact that the bike manufacturers (particularly gg & beta) were angry that the FIM is dictating techology requirements, rather than emissions requirements. One or both have supposedly produced 2T motors that meet or exceed the emissions standards set for the four stroke machines. A lot would hinge on the results of the law-suit as to weather or not we will see 4T machines from these manufacturers in the near te…

Not much trials stuff at the Bike Show (NEC). But almost hidden in a dark corner on the Michelin stand is the four stroke 320 Sherco. Neat job, real slim. As no-one was about we tested the weights comparing it with the two smoke alongside. Not a lot in it really, only a few pounds. Managed to miss the trials display though.......

Just wondered if anybody has had much trouble with there 4 stroke trials bikes??? i've heard something about a casting breaking inside a 4rt motor??? and rev4 head gaskets?? anybody know of other faults???

  18. Just wondering if any other Sherco 4t's have experienced this problem. When first adjusting the valves I discovered loose clearances in all four valves. Didn't think too much of it and shimmed to correct clearences. Several months later when checking them the intakes were fine but a lot of clearance in the exhaust valves. I Found the roller on the rocker arm that rides on the cam to push the valves is loose and turns but also moves up and down on the pin that holds it in place. The continued wearing is opening the exhaust valve clearance. The intake side is normal and rolls without problems as it should be. Has anyone else experienced this with their Sherco 4t or is…

I am of course completely biased, but would it be an idea to have a class for trial competitions limted to four-stroke engined bikes built before 1990? That would make the RTL honda shine once more, and would allow twinshock as well as monoshock bikes to compete in this class...
