Hi all, I am looking for the Electrical wiring diagram for a Cota 4RT 2008. This may be in the user manual? Can any body help me? a) A link to download one or. Could someone email me one over? The wiring diagram is so I can work out the wiring for the (on the on the road kit). This is Headlight and indicators + a Digital readout unit mounted on the yoke. My email is pdjohnson@freeuk.com. Hello all I have tried searching but have not been able find any reviews or users reports on the 4RT, so can anyone enlighten me please?. I've decided that I want to go back to 4 stroke but can't decide on Beta or Montesa, any info or suggests would be most helpful. Many thanks in advance.

Hi. I have just acquired a bog standard fully original 2005 4RT. It has the most awful breather pipe coming from the tank with a what looks like a valve and then the breather pipe goes back below the tank. I haven't has time to figure out what it's about to be honest but am wondering whether or not it is needed or whether i can cut it back and plonk a little one way valve on it? Are there any other alternatives to what i can do with it to make it look a bit tidier? Cheers Chris

Hi All, Have my tank apart in preparation of fitting the new Future fuel pump holder. Bit of rust and dirt in the old one so is about time. How have others attached the fuel pump in lieu of the original bracket? I see there are two screw in tangs (for want of a better word) ... perhaps these can be used with ties of some sort? Read a post this morning about Elf HTX740. The thread was asking where it could be bought now BVM have ceased trading . Guys ,whome is an active contributor to this site stated that GRO 75w was good and he uses that. Reading more guff on the ELF HTX , someone said " it says on the label not for oil bathed clutches". So whats not in it ? Or whats in it that's not good for wet clutches ? Any one know ? What i can tell you is that they use a similar product ,also ELF,in the old Citroen VTR 5 speed gear box and it's nasty stuff full of detergent . I'm thinking of getting a new Montesa. I've read on here that you can just ride them, wash them, then ride them some more and occasionally change the oil and filter. Top build quality. Top reliability. Then I also read on here a list of various problems. They need guards to stop excess dirt getting in the air box. They need a better sump guard. Frames cracking near the foot rest hangers. The angle sensor failing. Problems with the cam chain tensioner. The side stand is rubbish. Starting issues. So are they really built that much better than other bikes?

Hi, Just giving the carb a good clean. It's an Amal L2627 410. The only info on the correct jets etc. for the 349 are for an L2627 216 and I have slightly different ones. Info taken from this site says; Amal carb as per MH359 manual Make;Amal type;L-2627/216 Mine; L-2627/410 diffuser diameter;27 27 Main jet;145 150 Low speed jet;20 20 Gas valve;no.4 ?? what's this ?? sprayer;107 …

Think the crank seals have gone on the above and wondered if the seals are external or do you have to split the crank? many thanks for any help

The sales of the 4rt are through the roof according to Montesa's end of year financials - up a staggering percentage since launch and over 150 % more orders in the pipe than this time last year. 2nd hand bikes going up in value and like hens teeth !. the 2t fence sitters are starting to jump and early indications of montesa's 4t decision now paying off with the likely ban of 'normal' (i exclude this as a deffinate as fuel injection etc is a 2t option) 2t's from 2007 > .... VIVA !

I have a new repsol, 4 hours done on it, thought a little hard to start, few extra kicks,was out on it yesterday finished up and brought it home washed and cleaned it , now won’t start,I changed spark plug and have a spark, turn over is turned up ,throttle body connection clean , any ideas what could be up , any help much appreciated

Hi All, Basically the bike is a 2001 315 and the rear caliper was butchered by my mate when the bleed nipple snapped off so i had to buy a brand new caliper (that will teach me to give it to somone who knows what there doing rather than mess it up myself) anyway after new caliper was fitted i started to try and bleed the thing and well its been a nightmare ive tried syringe method's gravity methods and a pressure sucker thing you connect to the airline and nadda it just wont seem to bleed ive tried this for weeks on and off when ive had the time and well id like to use the bike at some point so anyone have any idea's The syringe method basically backfilling the system i…

Hi everyone, After nothing but problems with my beta I've decided to go for a montesa believing that with Honda engine it should be reliable. I've just picked my montesa 315r up today, The guy I bought it off has had the carb stripped and it is now flooding and won't start. My question is can anyone give me the STOCK carb jetting and settings? Also what spark plug should be in it STOCK? Can I use ATF in the gearbox as I did with the beta? And how can I remove the fuel tap from my tank when the nuts are spinning as the previous owner has covered it in bathroom sealent to stop it leaking but it still leaks. Any advice will be great, thanks in advance rich

I have a standard 2015 4rt and would like to upgrade the rear shock spring as I weigh 102 kg I have from a previous beta Evo a heavy duty spring which is the same diameter as the Montesa but is 13 mm longer however the standard spring was wound up around 15 mm so would there be any reason why the longer spring would not work if not wound up to same length as previous

Being in the USA we can not get the ELF HTX 740 tranny fluid. What other brands are compatible? Same deal with the motor oil, can't get the Repsol 4T in the 10w-30 weight....any thoughts on what you chaps use that is compatible? Many thanks, loving the new ride. Tom

hello what it is the original setting of your 315r?phbl -because mine was with 13 turns for the air screw -for the needle its the 2st step from the bottom I changed the settings -air-screw :3 -needle:3 step from the bottom but she still does things strange to me: -if I put the starter,she go really high in the rpm(I almost thought the cable was blocked ,so much hight rpm) -It doesn’t all go down right away when I drop the throttle -she Knocking crankshaft its ok , but maybe the 3 ring its bad , not sure while riding, it runs just fine. but i think the idle speed its not pretty to listen but she holds the idle s…
