Right did oil change on bike all went well went to start bike and nothing checked every thing. good spark fuel pump works bypassed tilt switch still nothing, have another 4rt swapped all bits over and nothing my bits work on other bike fine. my bike is a 2005 model well serviced well looked after other bike is a 2006 mode got us both stumped. Both handy with spanners. Got us well stumped Changed condenser changed rectifier

Sorry to start off here with a negative thread but I am having a complete mare with the rear brake on my 4RT. It's been a little problematic but no big issues until 2nd last time out when I did a big jump which split the res to MC pipe,fixed that and but it then refused to bleed even though we tried new MC parts. I replaced the MC with new and it bled easily enough,took it out again and the brake started binding as I guess in my desperation to get a brake I over adjusted it.Backed it off and pushed the pads back and no brake pressure no matter what we did. Hi there. I'm going to fit a new bashplate to my montesa. I see CSP do one and Mitani do a few too. Does anybody have one of these fitted so I can see from underneath the bike what extra they actually protect. The bike is actually a brand new 2020 bike that some guy had as an ornament and I would like to protect the underside as best I can as my local practice area is all streams and rocks. My beta is scuffed to hell on the frame near the foot peg hangers. I would rather avoid the same happening on this lovely mont.

I WONDER HAS ANYONE BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN REDUCING THE EXHAUST NOISE LEVEL OF THE 4RT

Has anyone tried a 260 head pipe on a 300. It looks a good bit smaller and I wonder if it would soften the response. I would like my 300 4RT to run more like a Beta 300.

Montesa-Honda halt production of 4RT and command dealers to stop selling units. Dealers in Spain received on thursday the order to stop selling 4RT. The communication relates also that the production of units has been halted. It does not explain the reason but insist to remember to all clients on the obligated starting with throttle completly closed and waiting two minutes at idle before going. In few days they will communicate the countermeasures. As a 4RT owner I feel quite worry about this. I know that the delay of october was due to a change in the kickstarter (it touched on chassis and was re-molded), but this new seems to be more important. I do not imagine w…

Can anyone advise what work needs to be carried out to the 4RT fuel pump in order for it to fit into a Mitani flat fuel tank. Thanks

Right have said my stator might be going so i have to take off the left hand side cover off the engine. But my question is can i brake the seal ( you know the metal cover and the a seal that goes all the way round and the the engine block). So if i take the cover off can i re-use it, will i be ok if i put the cover back on with the same seal, or will i have to get a new seal. Gavin

Hi .I just got a 20hr of 2011 4RT Repsol from my friends The bike is in near perfect condition , I did all the oil change , spark plug changed , valve clearance checked , coolant level checked. It is very easy to start when cold .normally 1-3 slow and smooth kick. ( But when engine get hot after 1 hour of continuous practice (mostly short hill climbing, crossing gaps,trackstand) no sign of sluggish during ride at all. but If the motor stop it won't start again. I did reset the ECU , check the plug (spark and dry) , no smell of gas when start . still cannot start. engine sometime fireup for a few stroke and die . not touch the throttle. So here goes the story. Bike was lightly rinsed with water after riding (with garden hose - to remove chunkier pieces of mud) and later started so it dried out. Then It was stored for a year or so. When I attempted to start it there was no life in it - no spark. All coils were checked via resistance test and were OK (according to values in users manual) apart from pick-up coil which was bad (infinite resistance). Seems like some water came in stator department via hole for breather tube and damaged pick-up coil. But then again bike was never easy to start anyway.. New pick-up coil was fitted but the problem persists, only now it throws spark from time to time rando…

The delay still can't be this 100 hour endurance test. If the bikes are in this country and not being sent out to dealers it surely must mean there is a mechanical problem. instead of a recall the modification will be carried out prior to the bikes being released to the public. At this rate i'll have retired from trials before i get a new mont 4rt

Hi All I'm new to this forum i have recently purchased the bike and i just want to know if i have bummed out or struck gold no pics as yet camera's junk.

I have a Monty 315 fitted with a Keihin PWK 28 carb. This Bike is new to me. Ok guys this is what happens, Bike starts and runs fine, length of time running does seem to make a difference but eveytime i go out it fouls the plug, at first tick over starts to get uneven and its gets a bit smokey and you have to wind tick over thumb screw in. Then you can be pulling up a climb in 3rd, get to the top and then it loses power, and eventually dies, and wont kick over. Take plug out its black and sooty, put in new plug and away it goes first kick fine. At first i thought the plug was faulty BR6 IX (irriduim), fitted new one and off i went again. Does anyone know the ready to trial weight of the Montesa 4RT? Just weighed a 2011 Beta EVO and it actually weighed 73kg. Been previously put off by comments of Montesa's weight but now wondering there might not be as much difference as previously thought.

DOES ANYONE NO HOW TO RESET ECU ON A 4RT AS MINE TAKES A GOOD 5 OR 6 GOOD KICKS TO START AND IT HAS HAD NEW SPARK PLUG ,AIR FILTER, FRESH FUEL AND IDLE SET AT 1800RPM BUT STRUGGLES TO START SO THOUGHT ECU MITE NEED RESETING REGARDS STE

Does anyone know how to identify or has access to a technical manual for vertex pistons as I was told one of the beta ones will fit a 315? Know alba made their own but got bad feedback so wondered if the vertex would be an option over oem
