Glove on left hand, but not throttle hand............never knew that The tinkerers today would have a field day with that bike, footpegs too high & too narrow (steel too, how much extra weight) Top yoke clamps too far back and they'd straighten up the clamps, drum brakes - you'd have to fit a front disc (a la Pinky). Maybe tubeless rear rim too as those tubed tyres will never win you a Trial Lights too, they'd have to go, as you'd never win a Trial today..... with all that extra weight of a speedo and lights My oh my, how we have tinkered with old bikes in 2017, doubt they're any better nowadays... than the bike Scarlett won that Trial on

You see very few adult riders in Yorkshire & North East wearing gloves............it affects their 'honed' riding skills

I wouldn't have one, seem more trouble than they're worth in adult trials

Put the bike on a stand, sandwich loose bashplate in position Offer bolts, for and aft and loosely enter any that are close to lined up If you have a couple of bolts lined up and partially tightened up, then manipulate the bashplate, to the ones you need to enter, by leaning your weight on bike & stand, using ratchet straps to help line it up or if it's really bent try to straighten the bash plate up, off the bike with a lump hammer and then offer it back up It is a cursed thing, at times............I now have a Mitani one and that's not much better Funnily the TYZ one, never goes out of shape at all and just bolts right up easily

An efi 2T Trials bike from Honda, would encourage me to buy one

Exactly, keep them as they were - everyone tries to make them into something they weren't.............trouble trials aren't marked out like they were 'back in the day', so it's a double whammy and hence everyone is modding their bikes

As a schoolboy I rode a TY 175 from 13 onwards Then when I was 17 - I needed wheels to get to college, so put all lights back on and speedo, it was already registered and got it mot'd Put some L plates on it and rode to college for 2 years, a daily round trip of 36 miles, winter & summer Bike never missed a beat and never touched the engine, even on same rings from when brand new when sold at 10 years old TY 175 a real all rounder

Well, 12 years later................I finally bought a 1996 TYZ Quite like her, nice to ride with loads of mods Footpegs have been lowered/moved back quite a lot, somebody has made some trick custom hangers and fitted Scorpa wide pegs Headstock has been sculptured to gain a far bit of extra lock and with 6" Renthal bars feels nicer to ride now Front caliper is a modern AJP one Lots of other fabbed special bits like an alloy chainguard and strengthened and gussetted rear subframe Somebody who was good with alloy welding and fabrication has spent a fair few hours on this bike Smooth power, with plenty of torque

Why not? Can you not ride a Scorpa 125 in the A/C Mono class and that's from year 2000 onwards
