Deep frame scratches 4rt
I bought a new left side frame rail, was about £40 a few years ago - pretty cheap for alloy I thought

4RT rear mudguard sticker
Had a complete mare with applying the stock graphics to my 4RT rear guard Despite loads of heat and a brand new guard, they lifted and peeled, even though the bike didn't leave the garage. No way would they last a Trial Ripped them off and just put a few stickers onto a plain guard Whatever they do at the factory, the stickers last forever

Have I missed something ?

Where to buy Cota 4RT spares?

No GB round 2019
Maybe the best way forward No Stop Traditional & Classic Trials will flourish Look at Scott/SSDT and the foreign Twinshock events...........they are flourishing with entries over 500, being whittled down to 300 riders

New value for money GasGas
Usually April or May, doing it in December was unheard of and even the dealer was taken by surprise too Must be a pre Brexit move

New value for money GasGas
KTM did exactly the same the week before Xmas in Dec 2018 Lobbed £1500 to £2000 off the RRP, off their MX and Enduro bikes Dealers had no prior warning and customers who bought in Nov were livid as their new Bike had dropped £3k

4rt ~ 250 v 260 Differences?
Is there much difference between a 250 to a 260 bike? Rode a 260 Repsol last week and couldn't tell a lot, but the 300RR was definitely lighter on the front (TECH alloy forks) and was smoother

What is hands down the most beautiful trials bike ?

Opinion for a nice start
You want a Montesa Honda 260 4RT, nice sensible 4 stroke

knee/shin pads with side protection?
I use Forcefield knee and shin Pads, designed for Enduro but are not hard plastic They have full knee and shin protection, which extends around the sides Not cheap at £80 a pair, but never ride a Trials bike without them, after some fairly serious haematomas cause on Enduro bikes, bu foorpegs

Twinshock Trails and Trials bikes 1979 to 1985
Great 30 min video of some of the 'lost' trails of Yorkshire and Cumbria on Twinshocks, lots of trails bikes used for the trail

Montesa v Beta
Agreed, a nightmare on a muddy and greasy bank - especially with a few turns in it

Montesa v Beta
A 4RT is harder to ride, initially than a 2T - as that is maybe what you're used to A 2T will pick up and grip from nothing A 4RT needs your weight further back and a progressive throttle and not to roll off too early, as you won't get the grip back like a 2T Depends too, if you ride mud/roots or rocks, streams and gullies A 4RT can be frustrating to ride initially and as a Clubman, my TYZ Yam is far easier to ride for a better result
