Changing the oil filter is a right PITA
On an older well used bike, I wonder how critical it is (new bike and engine, with assembly swarf I get) to change the oil filter
Every time mine has come out it looks fine and nothing in it, plus the oil is clean
So, as Clubman trials is pretty low stress, are we 'over servicing the oil filter'
Recently I only change it every 3rd oil change (change oil 500ml every 4 uses - trial or practice)
What's the concensus?

I favour SS food grade bearings too

Surprised how little comment/interest about this years SSDT on the largest Trials forum in the world

Any news of a winner yet
Did James Dabill take the win?
or did Dougie storm through ?

They all seem to do it, run with the fan most of the time, even riding between sections with max air flow
Don't worry, only worry if she boils?

Can't say fairer than that, good service

6" are the highest I could find
Renthal highest were only 5.5"

I bought a new left side frame rail, was about £40 a few years ago - pretty cheap for alloy I thought

Had a complete mare with applying the stock graphics to my 4RT rear guard
Despite loads of heat and a brand new guard, they lifted and peeled, even though the bike didn't leave the garage.
No way would they last a Trial
Ripped them off and just put a few stickers onto a plain guard
Whatever they do at the factory, the stickers last forever

If the previous owner gave you the thick bike & workshop manual, all the parts diagrams are in there at the back

I buy stainless bearings if possible

Maybe the best way forward
No Stop Traditional & Classic Trials will flourish
Look at Scott/SSDT and the foreign Twinshock events...........they are flourishing with entries over 500, being whittled down to 300 riders

Sad.......... isn't it
A tragedy for Trials

Usually April or May, doing it in December was unheard of and even the dealer was taken by surprise too
Must be a pre Brexit move
-
KTM did exactly the same the week before Xmas in Dec 2018
Lobbed £1500 to £2000 off the RRP, off their MX and Enduro bikes
Dealers had no prior warning and customers who bought in Nov were livid as their new Bike had dropped £3k

Is there much difference between a 250 to a 260 bike?
Rode a 260 Repsol last week and couldn't tell a lot, but the 300RR was definitely lighter on the front (TECH alloy forks) and was smoother

You want a Montesa Honda 260 4RT, nice sensible 4 stroke
