  1. Brown oiled Formula Boulders are excellent
  2. Put more weight on the outside footrest and lean the bike in more
  3. Best club mans bike of the era.Dont know about spares availability
  4. Northern bikes tend to have a harder time on (or through)the rocks.Private sales are normally cheaper, the Mont is better made but an older design, the Beta is in my opinion better to ride and has better spares availability
  5. You might have to travel to get what you want.Thats way too much for an 05 beta albeit a very clean one.Theres a couple on E--y at the moment, one in Peterborough, the other in Ashford that look worth enquiring about

No problem at all for a skilled welder
  7. huski replied to philbeese's topic in Gas Gas
Put the 35 pilot jet back in,sounds like it'll only start if you weaken the mixture
  8. Is there free play at the clutch lever ?The ball end of the lever wants to move about 3mm before it operates the master cylinders piston .If this is ok take it back ,it's nothing to do with the oil
  9. If you want a 125 it's worth a look,if you're thinking a 250 would be better buy a 250.
  10. I would think Beckies bike would be pretty much standard production weight so it makes sense to alter the minimum weight permissible.Mad if you have to add weight to make it comply with the rules. They should weigh them with a full tank at the start and also at any other time.I don't expect the bike was much lighter, certainly not enough to make a noticeable difference to her results.Riders need encouragement to compete at this level, this pettiness really doesn't help

  12. So Raga's TRS is OK but Beckies isn't,a stupid rule unfairly applied

I'd want to get it running before I bought it,if it doesn't.You might free the clutch by putting it in 6th gear, pulling the clutch in and pulling it backwards.BVM moto in the uk are helpful,Google them. Can you post photos of it?might help us to help you

It's worth about£900 when it's sorted out,but you could spend half that doing it.Youll probably find a few other things as well, such as tyres, brake pads.Has it been used recently or been standing?Old bikes can be money pits, unless you know what you're looking at or can take someone who does ,I'd look for a better one, unless it's really cheap and you want to do the work
  15. Toni Bou rode cycle trials before motorbikes
  16. They're the same
  17. Reckon the lack of free play was the problem,it wasn't allowing the clutch to engage completely, hopefully the clutch hasn't burnt out
  18. I'd do as above, easier to take a little off the shock bush rather than trying to force the frame mount apart
  19. huski replied to hamill_glen's topic in Sherco
Put an AJP calliper on it,the formula ones were unreliable
  20. 7mm ring spanner fits the clutch bolts, not that you need to touch them. You can remove the clutch complete by removing the 4mm Allen head bolt which holds it onto the shaft
  21. The shock for the later model will fit
  22. Ohlins is the best, but not cheap.Whats wrong with the original one,or do you want something better?
  23. I agree,very helpful,great service and cheap
  24. 250 2011 onwards would be the best for you.Better frame than the earlier ones,250 has as much power as you'll need and is less tiring to ride.Avoid 2012 with Formula brakes which can be awful, buy the best condition one you can find and afford
  25. Selector mechanism is easily accessible if you remove the clutch, debris gets in the selector pawls and springs and makes things lazy. Its easy to strip and clean them. The gear lever has a long travel when it's right,it's just the way they are.PM me if you want to know more
