Sorry this thread isn't about rules or what appeals to trials riders. Its about why trials videos are not as popular with the general public. Robbie Madison vs Any trials rider doing hops on the back wheel its no contest. I think this is a good topic, unfortunately im beginning to think it proves a point made many times before. Trials isn't a spectator sport. Maybe thats because our bikes are actually very slow and do not have long suspension travel, this limits what you can do. In our terms modern sections are spectacular but compared to other sports they are not. I have just seen another Bou video at the Montesa day. Its very similar to all the rest. Pulls up before the rock, couple of hops, revs, jumps up a step. Compare to Danny McCaskill jumping over a phone box or a forward flip off a building and it doesn't compare well. Im not criticising Bou or any other rider here I know what they can do is fantastic.

Trials could do with stopping the rear wheel hopping videos. Its difficult to do yes but its dull to watch, compared to mx videos or what Gerard Trubea can do on a monty its not impressive at all.

Ive just seen the Toni Bou world record attempt for a step video. He makes it look dull as dishwater even though I completely understand how difficult it is to ride up something that big. Camera position is wrong, theres no atmosphere to it no build up no failed attempts. Bou extreme jump is much more impressive. Trials is never going to compete with the American freestyle bloke who jumped up the arc de triumphe replica in vegas and then back down. That as a spectacle was fantastic and I still can't remember his name and I haven't bought an mx bike either !

Ham 2 Quinns planned to import the 303 but it never happened. It looks good in the pics but it still wasnt here by 1984. If you had the choice of a mono yam, Beta Tr32 or a 303 Ossa you wouldn't buy the Ossa. Great looking bike just 3/4 years too late.

S3 do two types of flywheel weight one for kokusan systems and one for Hidria. 13 and 14 models had Hidria, does the 15 ?

Registered in may 2013 but 2014 model ? Had both years bikes and both came with hidra ignition system neither had this problem. Warranty is six months I think

Gas gas discontinued use of the vhst carb after 1 year as it didn't run well. Get a carb off a later model or a keihin

I dont think the stroke of the motor has ever changed. The manufacturer of the piston may have changed but the size should be the same. In a bike that old fitting a new piston without re coating the cylinder is a bit pointless as the new piston will wear to the shape of the worn cylinder in no time. Does the engine rattle at low rpm with the clutch in ?

Dbf its 2014. Look at it this way the importer is next day delivery away for all your parts. Unless you need to split the crankcases which is highly unlikely theres enough help on here to get you through most tasks. If you want one buy one.

Beta sherco scorpa and gas gas now fit plastic end caps to the silencer. You'll be needing a 4rt if this design point is unacceptable. The later Gas Gas models use a different metal for the exit pipe which doesn't transfer as much heat and wont melt the plastic. Gas Gas issued the new pipe at the 2013 ssdt to competitors and its been std since the 2013 factory model.

Sounds like piston slap. The watercooled barrel expands more than the piston. To be fair most used bikes more than a couple of years old will have this unless they have been reconditioned, its basically wear on the piston / bore. Check splatshop for piston prices. Re coating cylinder is about £120. Performance is affected but not to a great extent.

Oh and yes you can wear out a Sherco clutch even with six springs.

Did the same Mod on my SWM as the clutch was very heavy, the clutch then started to slip in higher gears. Put the two springs back in would be my advice, its designed to have six springs. What were you trying to achieve ?

Whatever happens next I hope world trials dont go back to those rules.

Had this problem before its usually the spindle seized to the inner bearing race on the right hand side. I used a hot air gun to heat the bearing then tapped it out.
