    2011 280 raga

Like Ralph said its difficult as we all percieve things differently sounds like running weak or dirt why not just wind the (is it an air screw or mixture screw) one way or the other and apreciate the difference it makes for yourself?
  2. IT is a very sensitive issue please dont "queer the pitch" for others by helping only yourself....

    spark plugs

Take it for an occasional blast ( a few miles of road?) Is your exaust full of oil also?.. when you give it a blast you'll find out.

    poly tank

too many years ago during materials tec lessons the lecturer was describing how the "fillers" in polymers precipitate out over time: fillers being "crap" added in to bulk up the material at low cost. He described the net result appearance wise as an oily skin forming on the surface. Is this the problem withthese tanks if so can't see a practical long term solution.
  6. Hi Jack I've been doing trials for 40 years and I'm not quite sure what exactly a splat is..... is it the step jumping technique where its one shot of gas ?..to compress the rear shocker and lash (nice french term for dump) the clutch resulting in the rebound of the shock coupled with the leap foreward/upward..getting you up? hopefully this will get your topic moving

    Funny Slip

I had piston in M. Cylinder sticking in tother day .same symptoms but easily noticed...I supose thats too obvious.
  8. Not particularly contrary point to remember also is that proffessionals bikes arn't the same as bikes being sold.
  9. The stators are not neccesarily all the same...I would have thought ..changed staotor.. starts pinking/knocking.....spark timing different????
  10. Bet you can't with it in gear I can do it whilst asleep!
  11. General opinion seems to be coming around to WTC being seen as an interesting circus whose main relationship with the bike buying public is that they are bearing a large slice of the costs whilst the bikes are becoming less and less durable. I would say that as trials are worldwide and they vary wherever you go thus a world series should be representative of the variations in terrain/application users abilities.etc. As it is currently everything is focussed on the top 10 riders and direct spin off sales of tickets etc. perhaps also no stop should mean no stop and sections be set out for.
  12. Havn't read all thread but have a mate who has to put a "peg" on the fuel line before the pump else the bike is always flooded after a trailor ride or overnight..suppose its all about size of float needle ,float height etc. he fitted bigger float jet? (giglateur in French) so as to be able to keep it wound wide open without running out of fuel in the carb the peg is the price he has to "pay".
  13. I'll take 3 ....if... the warranty period and service is as good as it is in France....does the 250 come with keihin carb and all the new mods? If only Beta would sort out the airbox/fueltank as sherco have.
  14. You can google the club ..or the trial the current system is that it runs once every 2 years (it takes 9 months of work to get all permissions etc etc) it was so succesfull this year that they are going to rest for a month ..have a meeting and decide wether to run next year.. incidentally it runs 2 weeks after the 4 day at Sardent so with the trials terrain at La Bresse just up the road it is possible to have a good holiday....entries are like the SSDT though .everybody wants to do it!!.
  15. Link to some vids of trials we been doing in France Starring Janet

    2012 model

Yes it would be nice to present a manufacturer with a wish list; Sherco master cylinders & airbox accesabilty, Beta service, Gas Gas rideability....Montesa build quality...W. H. Y. however back in the real world I'm looking for info on 2012 Beta ..anyone know whats coming?

    2012 model

As I will probably be buying a new 2012 Beta I have heard a rumour that there will be some desighn changes other than colour scheme....has anyone any info
  20. Just a thought ; the traders of the village put on a barbecue in village square with all profits to village funds (as I understand it) you can get a cutlette of beef or pork with chips etc c.1o euros...personally not mad about it but it is "politic" to patronize the village (spend some dosh there). Is anybody else from Uk going to do the 3 days of Haut Vosges! fortnight later..I'm told its a better trial with some interesting/tough interzone, and of course it should be a lot cooler in the "mountains". A bientot
  21. Firstly no I#m using a french computer ..different keyboard... Secondly I don't believe business is that difficult for the major importers...Thirdly warranties are normally paid for /amorticised by the manufacturer as the warranty is for manufacturing defects...in the 4 wheel world warranty work is a good earner for the distributors. I.ve just changed a water pump seal on a 10 month old bike which was clearly fitted "on the pss" at time of manufacture..an obvious manufacturing fault. Finally I simply cant understand the attitude of UK customers so I.ll give up with the final comment of you only get what you given if you don't demand more.
  22. If it's any help its south out of Gueret..supermarket on left as you climb out of town heading for Sardent is good for basic supplies..hope it cools down a bit by thursday next..its 40 deg here today.
  23. The Sherco isn't the easiest bike to ride in the world BUT.. top riders can ride anything well...or...Having watched Raga reject 2 bikes for a trial it struck me that these professionals have to insist on every last tiny feature of their bike to be to thier "taste" before "going into battle" after or during isn't going to do the rider or the team any good. Perhaps Wiggy should have faith in his abilities and be more insistent on having the bike to his taste..only he knows whats going on.
  24. With the exeption of Beta my experience of other UK importers has been similar to the comments above;.. thier position is insuportable; waranty on mainland europe is 2 years for Beta, 1 year for Sherco, 1 year for Gas Gas, Scorpa BUT above all the ATTITUDE OF THE SUPPLY CHAIN IS TO SUPPORT THE CUSTOMERS unlike the UK importers. I know this from personal experience.I have commented on this recently ,the only response on these forums was from one guy who said his bike (make) was perfect so there was no need for a warranty. I will be getting shot of my current bike on return from Europe (never to buy another) the only bike I can choose is Beta. Warranty is a serious issue when spending silly amounts of money on trials bikes hopefully this forum may raise awareness amongst paying customers and maybe even the service from the UK supply chain. It.s not as if these guys are having a hard time financially they all live very well.
