With all the riding you get in Craig they need motorway interzone to allow the competitors to pass in the fast lane.te he!! I wonder if that guy was more a case of small brain rather than big balls as an official old git that was positively a reckless thing to be be doing.

Cant resist this one ..as a manufacturer. For me after 20 years of R & D we try to arrive at 5 degrees fwd. slope unloaded. Biggest hassle for aftermarket manufacturers such as me is that the OEM.s are not particularly good at being consistent with where and what angle they put the mounting brackets. also the various OEM.S tend to mess with these variables year on year (i think probably to suit incumbrent footrest suppliers product). We (Mrs & I ) had same model bikes last year with consecutive frame numbers yet the footrests were 8 deg. different in the plane we are talking about here. Most riders will notice more than 8 deg fwd inclination but not backward so those of us who "strive" for fwd. inclination because of the ergonomic advantages risk more customer "complaints" because of this and the varaibility of OEM product. I point these factors out as your survey result will be subjective to what individuals experiences are. There is currently a movement towards fwd inclination by no doubt it will be attributed to a "name" in the interests of marketing at the end of the day it's up to the individual to arrive at what suits both his bike, his pocket and his taste.

sorry to stick my nose in Charlie but I thought I was unique being into blues /bands and trials.............. good for you.

If you're looking to lift bars up on a Sherco Chris at Splatshop has the deal of the month for you in 3 ,5 ,or 10mm or you can just keep adding them up.
-
They were struggling to keep going all week. I think both of them eventually went into meltdown. It looked like an engine overheating problem.
-
Possibly but it depends on the individual scrutineer. we are doing several events (if you're going to Geuret as Bob Marley says.. dont worry .dont worry 'bout a thing, cause every little thing gonna be allright) so my plan is to turn up with what the factory supplies (working) and throw my hands in the air and shout a lot if there is still a problem.. I'd feel a bit of a twerp if i turned up with a couple of torches having stripped out the original eqpt. only to get turned away. Bear in mind the law here isn't neccesarily the same there or interpreted in the same way.

Just started prepping the bikes for trip to europe for summer trials (you must have working lights there)so as seems normal with my ST250 the lights decided to go intermittent traced it all back to broken earth wire inside the loom ..it may be unique to my bike but they had put a cable tie exactly where 2 wires are crimped into 1 and it had "garroted " the connection. Just thought this may be somewhere to start looking if anyone else has similar problem.

Good idea to try , by the way did you see the new Cabby replica front exaust?...simlar to that I proposed a few months back.it seems to me they want to get so much fuel into these motors (for power?) they can't get it out fast enough.

Never mind the speculation.. can't a bloke change his job without the rest of the world yabbering on about it. The important news for Ossa I would have thought was that they showed well in Scotland. Next years bike will be a force to be reckoned with hope they can get the price right. I suppose there's no point in me applying for his old job!!!

I thought I was onto something when I wanted to make front pipe more like the Evo.I was advised by one who shall remain nameless to learn how to ride it as it is. From the blurb can we know understand that Capacitor D.I. units are programmable? A decent shock and sorted out handlebar position sounds good.

Just came back to this forum.. been riding daily as an official in SSDT so got plenty of chances to get intimate with the bike. you may recall we had a long discourse regards smoothing it out. Anyway after fitting the boyenson reeds & 33 pilot jet & retarding it it was way too flat/feeble even for me, but at least I am now able to tweak things to get some power back (I never wanted to reduce the power just to get it controllable /smooth). I'm going to advance the timing untill it starts thinking about kicking back and stalling easy, if that isn't enough I'll run half and half boyenson 2 stage and factory std. reeds. I have avoided getting involved in flywheel mods. because for me smoothing out the pick up (with more flywheel mass) is simply storing up the energy for the overun. It was gratifying to find another fella wanting to smooth out his 2011 250. Just a couple of observations in Scotland was that some riders on Shercos were complaining of fuel starvation when blatting down the road, there was talk of header tank with bypass to return excess fuel to main tank.Fancy Wiggy's chain coming off at town hall brae(last section). the Ossa's sounded spot on and by co incidence they have real/true engine mapping facility. The Greeves's were having thier fair share of troubles.if it doesn't kill them it will make em stronger. Finally thanks to Malc/Rat for the facilities.

Always "flowering it up" with a kind word , the poor chap obviously hasn't a clue , doesn't want to pull the flywheel off, maybe hasn't checked the kill switch or if it's sparking..he'll get there with time!

Aha somebody else like me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went through all manner of messing about with carburation and timing as the above guys will recall. Motor was "awash" with petrol lumpy at bottom end..too fierceetc. It was so "wet" that it was pulling unburned fuel back in from exhaust on overrun. Ended up with 33 pilot 118 main needle in middle AND boyenson 2 stage reeds with std reed stops. It has been a little too soft for bog hopping in Scotland so I am currently advancing the timing back to where it started from just to get a little more snap. If it starts to stall easy like it was I'm thinking of re fitting one of the std reeds alomng with one half set of the boyensons (it was definitly the reeds that tamed it down) the full history of "our" efforts to sort out running of 2011 250 with Dellorto carb will be in this Sherco forum. If you go down the road of Keihin Chris At Splatshop is top man for Sherco and has stock of Keihin.
Just as a check of float height put the bike motor runnimg on a downhill angle..probably fine but it's reported that several in SSDT had fuel starvation problems.dont know which models so it's no help really

I was looking out for you to say hello (was observing every day) and still managed to miss you ;.congratulations on your ride and also for the photo's,... they really catch the atmosphere.

Is it that the shaft is made of best European chocolate? like many of the other parts on these high tec/price competition machines. Sorry to be so flippant but i'm in that mood just waiting for Janet to do her hair etc then we're on the road To bonny Scotland.
-
best way for me to confirm mains trouble was to take plug out and turn the motor over (Kick) if its a "deep" whirring its a fair bet the mains are shot. I'm sure there have been many contributions in earlier forums about this try searching the bike specific forums.

Its a quaint english name for the place where the vicar (priest/minister ) lives, often frequented by reverend people and of course a garden being a place of pleasure (some prefer it at the rear) is where you might expect to find a reverend wobbling.
-
I heard of and frequently noticed many rearend wobbles ( always best displayed by our feminine gender)but never encountered reverend wobble I suppose it could be quite distracting to have to bless every little wobble that you may have along the way. Who am I to comment with a name like mine ..all best and best of balance.

The thing is , if you touch a flag with any part of your bike of body it is pretty unlikely you're going to feel it, so you as a rider are at the mercy of the observers judgement (which you cannot protest about)..not a good rule at least if you knock it out it's clear to see that you 've done it. then they say oh yes but it's the same rules for everybody and as a rider you know that it is the interpretation of the rules by individuals that record the scores... imagine /calculate how many milliseconds your boot may be touching a flag as yo pass it. Whatever happened to benifit of doubt.?
-
Its a minimum hours walk each way to either of them; best advise is not to spread yourself too thin if you get my drift
-
for us to use most credit cards abroad it costs to use them so cash is always best for me when going abroad..see you soon..like the guys say plenty of chances to spend money. Before buying any whisky have a word with Marie if not me (remember the tent observers) see you soon.
-
I would love to confirm it but at 12 seconds in It looks to me like its my footrests he's using .. That would make my day.
-
Flippant I know ..breed it with my Sherco. .Can you advance the timing a bit? might be all you need
-
Not sure whats happened here .you had put up a post saying that things work better if we work together and thats gone missing. Regards immigrants can you imagine the pull we have; half the globe as old empire ,free healthcare ,free education, free housing.free social security money. Everything in your own language is a given, believe me there are dozens of languages on our paperwork with a caveat to ask if you need help with understanding. bit like riding really its a question of balance ...or was that a moody blues album?
-
Ha.. yea we tried that it gets rid of the service light (yes we changed the oil & filter).. ni fact we tried loads of similar combinations..including with a finger up left nostril and right eye shet etc etc... then last week my mate had a Kangoo come in with same thing he tried all the usual including hooking it up to his Car stuff computer, he ended up phoning Renault and the bit about 36K miles was thier answer... ho hum thanks for the thought though. It will be interesting to see what the results of the origin of this forum are.
