  1. Do you mean at club level or professional level? Its true that they just arent as common as they were a decade or longer ago but id say about half of the world field still wear them, raga, fajardo, cabs, farre etc
  2. Im quite sure i have read your post correctly. From your post i understand (correct me if you have worded it incorrectly) there are 2 youth A championships and an "eligible" youth cant score points in both. Does anyone actually expect a good entry at the Acklams youth A events? Dividing championships only decreases numbers, isnt the idea to try and increase numbers?
  3. The wheels, brakes and forks are pretty much standard across all makes, and have been for years. Sure they share the same tyres, levers, grips, footrests, chains, sprockets, carburetors, radiator fluid, petrol, gearbox oil. Sure theyre the same bike really If you believe that, you would believe anything.

  5. The wheels forks and brakes are interchangable on all trials bikes. Again, Raga was GGs development rider for the last 10+ years, so no surprise that it feels like a GG

  8. More likely fairly illogical. Only the complete incorrect mounting of a camera would cause such an injury. Also, the ACU only banned them because the FIM did, the FIM have since lifted this ban for approved cameras

  13. I agree with the first part, riders only get annoyed when they dont get away with one observer what they got away with with another. Consistency is key. I totally disagree withe the second part. Who says a section cant be ridden no stop, im sure if toni bou turned up he could ride it no stop. Just because there may be no one there on the day to ride it no stop doesnt mean you let them all off with stopping. Exactly the same way if nobody gets up a rock step you five them, if someone stops, five them. Whats with this nanny state that every section should be cleanable? Theres nothing i hate more than an observer watching a couple of riders through and forming the opinion that the section cant be ridden no stop so allows riders to stop, THEN!!! a rider actually comes along and rides it legitimately no stop, but gets no credit, because everyone is getting a clean. I see it alllllllll the time!!!!!! Theres a massive difference between brief pausing and proper stopping. Unfortunately trials doesnt have the luxury to turn away observers who cant tell the difference Rant over

  16. Only seen videos, but most riders were stopping for at least 3 seconds and getting away with it no problem. Whats the point in having a rule if you dont enforce it? Either revert back to stop, or do proper non stop, this middle ground is a joke, and is ultimately the cause of all the arguments

  18. The general rule of thumb (pun not intended) is a fingers width between the top of the chain tensioner block and the swingarm.
  19. The sharks fin at the rear sprocket is probably the most important. As collyolly says, if it isnt there there should be a bracket on the swingarm to replace one.
  20. Birkett told myself back in '08 that for Joe Baker, who was the best uk rider on a scorpa at the time, the timing was advanced a far as the slots would let it. I never quite went that far, about halfway. I always found the water pump hose extrememly vunerable, doubt trimming the sump would be advisable. Birkett also made a pump housing that had the outlet turn the 90 degrees in alloy rather than the hose, making it less vunerable to rocks

    2017 clutch

    Had a gg where the bolt head had sheared and was just sitting there blocking the slave cylinder. Really lucky it didnt work itself out and cause damage. Do it ASAP! Some people run without the bolt in place to no detriment of the bike. I prefer running with it. Regarding thread lock, it probably wouldnt do any harm, just be careful not to block the bolts centre hole. If youre doing this yourself, when you have the clutch cover off, remember to keep the water pump drive aligned and the kickstart shim in place. 10 minute job btw
  24. Totally understand what you are saying, but the plastic type isnt half as bad you think.
