  1. I had my motor apart last year & put a new head gasket in & after i stopped riding i noticed a slight weeping in the front right hand corner of barrel / head, i rode it like this for awhile & just kept checking oil level even though it was loosing a minimum amount of oil. I don't like oil leaks so i took the motor down to my Mechanic who told me i needed to use three bond, he said he could do this for me, so i left the motor there with a brand new head gasket. I put the motor back in the bike last week & started it, i looked down & there was oil shooting out on to the pipe . I checked all the bolts & they were tight, I then took some photos & it looked like there was a gap between the barrel & head ? I've pulled the head off & it looks like the copper section is a lot thicker than the material section & has not compressed at all, i've pulled out another couple of gaskets & the copper piece is thinner & smaller that the 1 i had used, i'm thinking this was causing the problem, has anybody else had an issue like this ? I have another TLR250 that has never been touched & there is NO sign of oil leaks anywhere

    Sherpa Brakes

    I remember when i bought a Bultaco to give Trials ago after 20yrs of MX, & i rode it through the edge of the dam, i then went to use the brakes & they weren't working plus they were squealing. They were squealing that much & for sooo long my Wife came out & said what is that noise Then i pulled the wheel off & saw the beautiful chrome brake liner To this day, i still ask myself why would you put chrome liners in a bike that has a very good chance of seeing water ?

I've got 2 TLR 250's & i first bought an oko which for me was a waste of time & $, it doesn't fit the standard manifold or airbox, i rang the importer down here & he said you have to run a Sock type airfilter in the open, he did tell me i should be able to make up some sort of cover for it ? ! This is not what i wanted to do as i would be riding through Creeks etc, I bought a 22mm Sheng Wey for $60 Aus so probably a lot less for you ? They fit perfectly, look the same & the Honda jets fit as well, they are a direct copy of the Keihin, it went that well i bought another 1 for my other TLR 250, the jets don't have #'s on them & i've played around with the pilot, main & needle just because i can i know a few blokes over here have bought Keihin rebuild kit on ebay & said the work very well, the other thing is, sometimes the float may have a pi prick hole in it ?

    Electric start

    I remember when i first rode my KTM i stalled it going down a hill into a corner, i thought what a bummer, but then i remembered i had an electric start, didn't have to even put my feet down, So it would be good if you stalled in a section, you could just restart with you feet still on the pegs
  7. Down here we can not have 500 people in 1 place, i'm pretty sure most Trials clubs would love to have 500 people @ an event At the moment i can do most things except leave the Country .
  8. That's what happened over here for the last couple of weeks, yesterday a lot of people started to take TP, Rise, Painkillers etc back for a refund The supermarket Woolworths said tuff tittys, NO refunds

  11. I would think that maybe the seal has gone hard after sitting for a long time between rides, so the shaft maybe OK ?
  12. I'm with misscrabstick here, i've had the suspension on my KTM & Sherco enduro bikes revalved to what i wanted & they are great, infact i get some other riders saying wow you bike tracks soo smoothly ! So couldn't you get somebody to revalve it ?
  13. I bought a front & rear Golden Tyre & find them pretty good, i see they still have them on the Aussie web site.
  14. My understanding is you don't want numbers that divide to an even number like 12/48 =4, you would be better off with 12/49 =4.083. If the number is even the same place in the chain will contact with the same place on the sprocket every few revolutions, if it is odd the chain will not hit the same place on the sprocket, so less wear ?
  15. Yes like that here in South Gippsland, we got a bit of rain last night & it looks like we are expecting more, but not as much as they predicted

I've read that there have been some problems with airoh mx style helmets having non stainless steal rivets or D clamps that seem to rust with in a year from sweat/washing etc. I'm looking for a new helmet soon & that will be the first thing i check, i have a tld & m2r helmet & these parts are stainless & look like new .

  19. I saw a vid of a bloke trying to get funding for a modern type frame bike with a motor like this in it, from what i could see it looked pretty good ?

  21. Have to say going to GasGas could be a bit of a gamble, will KTM keep them going or just let them die a slow death ? !
  22. It maybe good for Trials , but it won't be good for the GasGas name ? Remember what happened to Husaberg

    Don't know what it's like up there, but GasGas seems to sell a fair few Enduro bikes down here & have reasonable dealer network
