Sure it does increase flow, but they have had bikes suffering vapor lock for no apparent reason. I would guess this is a remedy for those few cases.
  3. You will get more response posting in the Aprilia section.
  4. Seal the inside with epoxy and Jb weld the outside, sand and paint. Twenty bucks and two hours work.
  5. You all are thinking two stroke problems. This whole thing is probably the fuel pump/vacuum lines issue along with vapor lock from a hot motor. Damn Sherco with the remote tank anyways. I was sure happy the day we sold my boys 2012.
  6. Could be something simple like the detent for the shift drum, missing, loose or broken spring. I would not even worry about the case. A sight glass is not needed.
  7. I love that Pro keeps a going. Probably has some of the most hours of any Pro. Keep making it better zippy.
  8. I gave you specs for what we ran at the nationals. Which is your elevation.
  9. What jets have you tried. I told you what we used at the Nationals. Did you get a fuel screw or did Ron install it when new?
  10. You could also shift to second more often. With the 11 it runs good, but makes 2nd not as useable. I tried the 11 this last week as I am searching for just the right combo myself. Trouble is we ride tight very large steep rocks at high elevation. (Thirty feet tall plus) I know completely different terrain, but I also just switched from a Gasser. The Beta first gear has always been too low. Good luck.

  12. The easiest fix is the Billy T carb mod. Someone will come along and give you a link.
  13. More info for better answers. Why you want to change it. Where are you riding. Is first too fast for you, which I doubt as the Beta first is pretty low. On the rev 3`s I always ran a 10 and rode mainly in second gear with a lot of clutch work.

  15. Just drain the oil and if not discolored refill with 650cc.
  16. ARMA is pretty much into vintage mx, road racing etc. They let trials exist as an after thought. We tried to get them to extend the rules to include a class for all twinshock air cooled bikes. No go. So we started an ITSA based club. http://mtwestvintagetrials.org/ We ride real sections and welcome most everyone including modern, Also you can check out the vintage class at http://www.mototrials.com/. Hydraulics are not considered vintage by the way.
  17. Plug and condenser.
  18. The TY is now awful old. Pull the arm out an grease it while adding the extension.
  19. Minder bikes are a good deal. I have bought a few through the years. Everything is better on the new bike. mainly Suspension and handling.
  20. The new one would be best, but which model are you really comparing too. I would assume a Lampkin would ride a Factory model as they do work better.
  21. Marc won by a point Saturday and Pat won by a clean on Sunday. Best Campionship ever.
  22. Why not just crack it loose and retighten? A long clear hose draped all the way over the rear fender does wonders.

Check out the Beta clutch fix pinned at the top of this.
  24. So the engine is on the bench not in the bike? You might try spinning the crank and the sprocket to get it engaged. I take it you are getting the other gears but checking before you put the bike back together.
