I think a lot of championships dwindle towards the end of a series as people weigh up the cost of improved placings against the cost of travel.
If the trial is a cracker then they will make the effort as its worth it anyway. (lakes. Bootle/Lancs weekend etc)
Sundays trial was again very well organised and a very well run trial. Possibly not a classic as the trial is made up of several good bits of land linked with some basic road work. Sections possible a little easy this year but terrain seemed dryer than last year so hard to say.
Maybe 3 rounds in a month doesn't help. A double header with Hillsborough might of helped as would a double header down south for previous round. Fuel cost these days out weigh a hotel stay (including beer and grub)
Also plod in Derbyshire seem to be getting a reputation which was again confirmed on Sunday so maybe some riders don't want the hassle?
As an O40 rider on modern bike I think maybe the older rider on modern bike is where the championship is now heading and possibly most competitive. O50 and O40 both undecided going into last round.
I have enjoyed my 2 years of Normandales - harder traditional style trials suit me best as I'm good at slack dabs and hate hopping and flicking especially when we are supposed to be no stop.
A good championship takes all types of variation into the mix so it needs easy/hard, tight/flowing, muddy rocky. People will always ride what they prefer.
See you in Hillsborough and hopefully next year

If they where "on it" they wouldn't let such basic mistakes out of the factory!
However its good to see they are taking up their responsibilities as they were never the best - I know cos I was on the wrong end of the smelly stick. Product has always been very competitive but build quality/durability questionable.
Probably still got a way to go to meet Honda quality or Beta UK after sales service from what I can gather but always good to hear customer is being looked after - well done GasGas
-
Whats the difference - though existing air box was pretty good. Dont get much water or muck in. Would be nice to know improvements

Google Scott trial or SSDT. Big miles at quick paces.

As Mr Bou hasn't phoned me yet and as an Engineer and O40's rider would suggest the following
What size cc: 200 or 250
What engine: EFI definitely, reverse cylinder seems good idea. 2t lightest, 4T more fun!!
What frame: Steel as per latest GasGas - inherent strength in the design
What dia of forks: see below
What forks: 4rt Showa
What forks: Upside down or conventional: see above
What Rear Shock: 4rt Showa or Ohlins from what I have read
What plastic: 4rt RTL Burgundy metallic circa 2006
What wheels: 4rt/DID
What (factory) colour: 4rt Burgundy as above or Repsol
What factory graphics: as above in Fuji style with flat alloy tank
What clutch: not 4rt
What brakes: Nissin oversize front, wavey disc. Rear seems AJP std but wavey/slotted disc

Mine was off when I bought it. Don't think it weighs much but something less to go wrong. Post recently on how to link it out if you check back.
-
Fancy I rode last year at old venue but that looks a bit tougher to say the least. Mega fun though!!!
-
If you go too modern - ie disc then you may not be eligible for twinshock classes. I belive you can modify 200 forks to be similar to TLR 250 ones

Can't offer any advice for nerves other try and get into your own little world.
I can offer a few tips on practice and first lap management.
When practicing mark out a section proper with markers and ride it as if in a trial. Only believe that you have mastered that section when you have cleaned it 3 times in succession - This is Sammy Millers tip not mine but helps you focus.
When walking the sections on the first lap, walk up the section and get a general feel for where it goes. Then walk back down the section planning where you are going to ride. This way the first bit you ride is the last bit you walked - Bernie Schrieber's tip not mine.
I find a can of red bull or equivalent 15mins before the start just helps wake the brain up. -my tip so may be worth ignoring.

I've ridden Bath classic trials on both an old Beamish and a std tlr 200 and along with my riding buddies have enjoyed every minute of it, in fact its what got us all into twin shock trials. I think if the sections are right then people should just get on and enjoy it.
Possibly the trouble with a lot of classic/twinshock classes is that a good bike is expensive to buy and probably the older bikes are also expensive to maintain.
Lots of older rider on a modern bike on sensible sections should not really put anybodies nose out of joint.
-
So simple but a top tip. Never thought of doing that. Doh

Strangest thing in the world - Old filter is a pain to get out - New one will go in no problem.
Watch out for spring behind filter. Use blob of grease to hold in on reassembly.
Make sure o ring doesn't get nipped when pushing retaining plate back in. Lube to assist.
Also make sure retaining plate is in square before doing up retaining clamp. If not square, flywheel cover will not line up on dowels.

Have a look at past posts. Its an awful long way round so be prepared to be on the bike for many hours.

Now on my second 4rt and 4th year of riding them.
1st an 2005 ex Sandifords bike,
06 clutch plates,
315 clutch master cyl,
PTB with sains map.
Pretty much everything else as std and bullet proof.
2nd 2009 bike came with raptors, ptb, large front brake cyl, mitani sump guard, HRD brake lever.
Went back to std rear brake pedal, std footrests and hangers but just gone to S3 pegs (hebo style) and like them.
Ran a Sains map until recent but just modified bottom end to soften up a little.
Run std gearing as ride 99% in first.
Love Xlite tyres.
Run suspension mid damper settings and a maybe a little soft on springs to maximise compliance of bike to terrain.
Luv em to bits.
Was best rider on non champ route in recent S3 round in mid wales so bike must be ok as I'm closer to 50 than 40.
Decide what you like and how you ride and 4rt can normally be set up to suit. 09 on do seem to steer a little better.
-
Probably cost Doug his 100th win and a bit more!
-
All though only rode the non champ route thought the trial spot on. Results seem good although the top boys couldn't afford a silly mark. Late number probaly essential.
Ride round was brill as was route marking and general organisation. Weather put a cap on a good day.

2 stroke 2 map switches normally alter ignition map. Fuel injected bikes -4rt and presume new Ossa can alter ignition and fuel maps.
Hence soft and a more aggressive set up can be stored and activated via switch.

Are you sure she was looking at the bruise or the fact you appear to be wearing her pants!!!!!
At least you know how you did that- I am always amused at the bruises that appear a few days later and you can't remember how you got it - too busy dabbing to worry about the pain probably
-
I'm sure there is a very recent video somewhere maybe on another site or facebook/youtube of a the new scorpa 4t(125 or 200?) with a long range seat etc and as the video goes on the guy takes off the seat and does some sensible sections. Trouble is going to be new bike money.
A true new twin shock bike would be interesting but would need drum brakes to be eligible for true twinshock class and would probably more expensive than fully fettled tlr/fantic. Cotswold which I believe is what Chis Koch rides look very competitive.
-
Are you sure its the switch and not he fan on its way out - a slow running fan will cause bike to overheat.
Best of luck

Min weight limit 75 kg for all bikes - reduce some of trick riding and allow durability of bikes to come back in.
Maybe adopt F1 idea of limited engines /frames per year etc, enforce 1 minder only - no mechanics - proper parc ferme after weigh in/practice.
Like no stop idea
Like combined round with a national series
Rather than stating that organizers must have a large hard standing area minimize teams to one vehicle of a sensible size only!!!!
Like no stop idea!!!!
All riders bikes must be made available for sale after any round and at end of year - max asking price
