    BOOTS!

Not much protection for shins or lower leg, more of a road boot.
  2. Those cynic tablets are working ?
  3. Not sure with your bike, but effectively when you push the pedal it shouldn't immediately move the piston.
  4. Not enough / any slack at the pedal. Brake is dragging all the time causing it to heat up and lock on would be my guess.

    Suspension

Trouble with using 10psi in this situation is you will be adjusting the suspension to compensate for the tyre pressure, why introduces another variable ?

  7. It's been done before (think it was Duncan MacDonald) problem ins there is no grip with this set up.
  8. To burn that much oil you could send smoke signals to Alaska ! Gear / engine oil smells completely different from 2 stroke when burning, generally this will not stop the engine running, and if it did you wouldn't be able to restart without a new plug. I'd go with suggestions above, either poor fuel flow, or electrics breaking down with heat.
  9. Blame it on the crustaceans ?
  10. Knee / shin protection should be compulsory, huge number of injuries to lower leg. ( what's a blame clam ? )
  11. If your not planning on putting it on the road, most people get rid of the speedo drive and replace it with a spacer. I think I used 20:50 in the gear box and atf in primary.

    The condensor

    Does it have compression ?
  13. Any previous keepers listed on the v5 ?
  14. Think we've done that one to death, and it does work !

    The condensor

Yes, possibly when cold. Then breakdown as heats up. The condenser is partly to prevent the points getting burnt, so might be worth changing them as well.
  16. Ignorance is bliss, I bet you didn't know they were crap before reading this thread ... How many ssdt's has it done, 2 or 3 ?

    Not sure of the year

Try a new (correct) spark plug. Is old plug wet or dry ? Timing out, does it cough / kick ?
  18. What's wrong with the current map ?
  19. You rip classic bikes to shreds, but take everything so personally. Don't give it if you can't take it.
  20. Next time you buy a bike take a mechanically minded friend, not Stevie Wonder.
  21. Sounds typical of a bike needing a carb clean, good news. Bikes of that age tend to hold their value, assuming you haven't paid over the odds. You can always sell it on if you don't like it.
