  1. It is easy to get Chrome wrong and it will flake, or it will rust - have a look at some rusty bikes - get one of these and it will look horrible. Further, Chroming make good steel hard - chrome embrittlement - and the steel can crack. Paint it mate, Ralphy
  2. Remove the glue as per the instructions Use ATF oil Change the oil often That is as good as it will get.... put up with it from there on. Fret not......Smile and enjoy the bike.
  3. Very nice bike. Mate you have to put a brace to the shock mounts before you take it out, it will crack otherwise.... take a look, the shock will be putting a huge side load on the tube.
  4. It is likely that your shock needs a rebuild if the damping adjuster has no effect. Ii have written loads on this site about setting up shocks.... try a search.... Ta
  5. NO NO NO NO. Do not pull off the plug cap. It will hurt like f**k and it could kill you. Take off your glove and hold it against the exhaust / tail pipe exit. Do not let go and push hard.
  6. Hi. How odd. I have XXXL hands and hate large grips. They did nothing for ability to grip the bike and, infact, because they were larger I had to grip harder to stop hands slipping off.

    Rev3 Paoli Damper

Guys sorry but the info is in my house stuff, and we are in the process of shifting house. I'll dig it out ... but it will be in a few weeks. I got the sheet when i purchased a shock rebuild kit from the NZ Beta Importer - It looked like an Italian instruction sheet so you may be able to chase one down by emailing Beta Customer service. I gave all the stuff to a motorcross shock expert and he said it would be easy, For him it was easy. He didn't have that much pressure so he only filled to about 160 and it was fine. From memory we tried 5wt oil and it was too slow so swapped that out for 2.5wt and it was brilliant. Really brilliant.
  10. what is a good way to get rubber of a camera lens???

    Rev3 Paoli Damper

150-200psi (200 in the rebuild tech sheet)
  12. I'd say you have water in that....
  13. Hi Henrik TRP are made in Belgium. Yes they do them for EVO. They aren't cheep but can be rebuilt and fitted to your next bike. To be honest the damping is another world better and is quite something the original Beta shock can never achieve - even after a rebuild. I fitted one to a mates Evo and couldn't believe how it transformed the bike. The traction the bike gets and the feel for the ground that the rider gets is quite simply brilliant. I think this is their web site http://www.trpracing.be/
  14. Nope.... keep it the same otherwise it will increase bike prices. Right now I could do with prices coming down.
  15. The 09 and 10 bikes came out with soft springs that normal suited light riders like yourself. There are two issues i get from your posting. First..... If you have the preload on the spring tight up, it is likely you have the wrong spring or perhaps the spring is shot. You should set sag to 1/3 travel when you are stood on the bike with riding gear, after this there should be a little static sag (10mm ish) (with out any bike load) Second.... The shock screw adjusts only the rebound speed. If you get no adjustment when you turn the screw - your shock needs a rebuild. And this is likely to be the reason your bike is blowing through all its travel very easily. But it will be doubly bad if the spring is shot. It should take a LOT of force to compress a shock. You can rebuild what you have but it is a huge challenge to find someone to do it, and get new spring, or if you can afford one buy a TRP shock they are brilliant. Let me know what happens, Ralphy
  16. Bump starting won't damage the bike.... I did it for a couple of days and had no problems
