Scorpa

Hi all The front brake on my ’06 SY 250 is weak. The brake lever feels firm, there is no air in the system. I suspect the brake pads have been contaminated with fork oil since the left fork had a small leak when I got the bike. Yesterday I did take the brake pads out, cleaned them with solvent and then re-surfaced them using sandpaper. That did not help. Any tips what to do next? The brake pads had a ‘GG’ in the product number, is the front brake the same in Scorpa and GASGAS? Is there a known problem with the front brake of the SY250? If so, how can I fix it?

Does anyone know if there are full length fork guards (the type that extend up and protect the outside of the stanchions from crash damage) that are mold fit specific to these Paoli forks? I have seen a one size fits all brand, but I am hoping for some that fit right. Thanks for your help.

Hi stripped down the 02 250 i've just bought and the air filter had no plastic holder or spring clip so ordered one from Birketts. Now i feel bit stupid as i can't for the life of me work out how the spting clip fits or hlds it in place. Anybody got a pic of how it goes together. Cheers

How much would i be looking at to get a new back wheel for the above bike?

I'm giving serious consideration to buying a 2002 Scorpa. The bike comes with the long ride kit too. I rode a 2000 model that had been riden very hard. The Yamaha engine on the 00 bike had a wonderful (to me) power delivery. The particular bike I rode had a severely bent footpeg, so it was hard to evaluate turning etc. Hoping to get some feedback from other owners. I'm well into middle age and ride the easy lines. Have previously owned a 2000 GasGas TXT280, and liked the steering and ergonomics. How does the Scorpa compare to the GG, ergonomics/suspension wise? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Does anyone have the paint mixing formula for the o3 Scorpa blue? The Scorpa factory would not supply a paint code or formula as they replied " it is a secret"????? I understand that it is Deep purplish blue metallic coctail code 0564. So far the paint supplers over here have been little help. Thanks Kevin O

Hi all, I've been meaning to post this for a while now, so here goes.... I seem to be able to find neutral very easily, not that I don't know where it is, but I have never had this before with a trials machine, and thought that was the way it was meant to be so you would find it difficult to hit neutral by accident, and avoid injury. Most Ive been on I get fed-up of trying to find it and sit down, and select it by hand. On the SY, if I dont hold the shifter in position momentarily when going from 1st to 2nd I hit neutral. I'm not complaining, Im just not used to it, and wondering if there may be something wrong. Are the Sy's all like this, or just mine.

Hi, Ive just bought an 03 sy 250 r and want to spend a day on it before changing the oil, and other things. My question is - Is the little bolt, about 40mm up from the bottom of the crank case the oil level indicator. What is the best gear oil. What is the best premix oil - I currently use " silkolene comp 2 plus sx " At what ratio, I heard 70 -1 ( is this 16ml per 1000 ) What fuel, Unleaded or high octane super unleaded. A;so, what plug. Sorry for all the questions, but I like to start off right, and then if things go wrong they only go a little bit wrong... All help gratefully recieved and accepted......any advice is good advice........as long as it isn't sh*t …

hi i have seen the other threads on bleeding the clutch but it just doesnt seem to be working for me at all! i got a new slave cylinder as the old one crapped itself! but i cant get the fluid from the resevoir out. i pump it and the first pump a wee squirt comes out but after that nothing. any help would be appreciated.

we top off the fuel on 03 scorpa and our 06 monty both running great have to switch to reserve on scorpa after an hour of riding then shes out of fuel within 2 section you, can still see fuel in the line, looks line the carb sit higher than the tank have to go get more fuel to get back home, you can still see the fuel in the monty.

A mate of mine has an 04 scorpa.At the weekend it devolped a clutch problem,the lever would not pull in more than half way,on inspection the arm that goes into the engine was catching on the casing,it looks as though it has dropped down about 5mm and the plunger out of the slave cylinder is not in line.Has anyone had this problem and if so what is required to fix it.Also does anyone know where we can get a parts diagram from. Hi all , i have sold my 03 pro and purchased an 04 SY250 , What g/box oil do i use , how much (it says 700ml on cases) Do they prefer any kind of 2t Where do i need to be with my suspension settings approx as i think a big lad has owned it previously , i only weigh 10 stones drippin wet ! The info on the Tryals Shop website listed a flat skid plate for 04, yet the one on my 04 looks to be the same as the formed plate on the 03. Can anyone else with an 04 verify that they used the same plate or that mine has the wrong plate? There's a picture of the right side of mine for reference below. Looking at the water pump guard that Boofont added to his bike makes me wonder how some folks are using a coil mount from a Beta for this purpose. Anyone got any pics of that installation (or is that what you used, Boofont)? :santawink:
