Twinshock

I'm running a Dunlop tubeless tire with tube on a TL250. It has new rim locks tightened as tight as possible. Looking at the valve stem, the rear tube is rotating on the rim. I assumed this must be the tire rotating but I marked the tire/ rim before last ride and it is not. The valve stem is noticeably angled with only one very mild ride. See pic with line and stem from one ride. The line is from black marker to black marker and not related to raised line on tire. This is strange. Is there a fix? To recenter valve stem, I have been doing a number of deflation and inflation cycles with a tightened valve stem nut and it does straighten out. I had a TY175 do …

Is there anything wrong with using a Tubeless Dunlop D803 with a tube in it, on my vintage Twin shock? How different are the two tires; Tube Type & Tube Less. I thought I ordered Tube Type, but just realized they say Tubeless on the side. Again, they are Dunlop D803's. Thanks

Does anyone have any good advice on fitting a tubeless 4.00x18 rim to a Sherpa rear hub, 36 hole?. eg where to get a suitable rim, could a Montesa type rim be fitted as the Sherco system doesn't seem to hold air for any length of time when used hard, any pitfalls to be aware of?. Thanks. PS I've just found an earlier post on this subject with good info from Nigel Dabster. What type of Yamaha hub do you mean Nigel, it must presumably be a 32 hole setup for the Sherco rim?.

Why can't a modern Montesa tubeless rear rim be built onto a Cub/Bantam/Sherpa etc. rear hub?.

Are you allowed to use tubeless rear rim/tyre in twinshock events? ive looked on the ACU handbook but cant see anything in there. Is it worth the money/effort to respoke the rear to run a tubeless rim/tyre?

hello all, does any of you twinshokers out there run a tubeless michelin (with a tube) on the rear ?? i remember a few years ago i had a irc tubeless on the rear of a fantic and when you let the air out to 5psi it would break the bead and look like the wheel was buckled .i only ask as i have a new michelin in stock and my beamish needs a tyre. Thanks Paul.

Right done the search and I am sure it has been asked before, but will a Tubeless tyre fit on a Tube type rim (Bultaco). I will be using a tube and the security bolt? Long time since I had a bike with tubes in the rear (SSDT boys have got it so easy now), I am collecting a Bultaco for one of my friends and tasked to help him. As I have some half decent tyres in the garage where i have nipped the side wall I was wondering if they would do the trick? As this Bultaco has been in a garage for over 20 years without turning a wheel, I wonder what rubber it will have on?? I am guessing a Pirrelli, we will see?

I did a search and some reading. There were some posts discussing using modern tubeless tires on vintage bikes / rims and how some owners have had issues with the tire dropping off the bead at the low pressures normal run. My 73 OSSA has an Akront rear rim. Unfortunately, probably on account of the slight ding in the rim from the previous owner, my Dunlop D803GP tire is dropping off the rims bead area. The oem Akront rear is a 1.85 width. Dunlop is suggesting a 2.15 width. I purchased a used OSSA wheel assembly from a different model than the MAR and unknowingly, it had the 2.15 wide rim. So, looking for opinions. Stay with the 1.85 wide rim and in…

I removed my decent tire off my GG and put it on my 74 ty with a tube. Will it work ok or just s bad idea.Sorta hard to find tube type trials tires these days plus I was trying to save some money.Have considered getting a tubless kit for bike so I can reuse my lightly wore modern tires but not sure what direction to go on this.

What's the deal on '70's Montesas? Some have big, ugly seats... I hear some are long and turn like a bus. Which are the good ones? Call me shallow, but I grew up lusting after red ones...the white ones just don't do it for me.

I am rebuilding a ty250a.I have only been riding trials since spring of 2018 but figured I would share my rebuild for all to injoy (or laugh at).I ride a 2015 GG txt pro but like vintage bikes. The ty250 was my 1st motorcycle I had in 1976 when my father purchased it for me.The deal was I would work in woods taking down tree's to pay him back.I had no idea it was a trials bike but rode the hell out of it.

Hello. I am thinking of buying a twin shock and I appreciate these old things, even ones that look mint, can be a bit of an unknown quantity and take some sorting. What I want to avoid is buying something I can't get bits for, especially engine parts at realistic prices. At the minute I would like a Bultaco or an Ossa or maybe even a Fantic or Montesa. Something probably mid seventies very early eighties. What should I avoid? Any suggestions/guidance or help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Scragg
