... I have just bought a Bantam. Should be able to pick it up in a week or so, been looking around for a while and I think I've made the right choice. Very good set of gears and revs well, watch this space :-)

I understand stocks of tubed IRC's are far and few between. Would be interested to understrand the options, tube in non-tube tyre, tubeless??

Saw an article about a Wasp Cub in a classic magazine. Very tidy but are they legal in pre-65 events?

22mm Dellorto fitted to 199cc Triumph Tiger Cub For best performance how far out do you set the mixture screw, also needle position. Currently mine has mixture screw around 1 3/4 turns out, clip in top groove so needle lowest. Took care setting the float level as bike seemed rich, adjusted float to 25mm so fuel level slightly lower, Dellorto say 24 + / - 0.5mm. Carb is as supplied for a Triumph Cub. Slow running seems better now but will need a trial to know.

I am looking for some photos of an Elstar BSA, these were made in the mid 60's and were fitted with engines such as C15, Cub and Villiers. I am interested in the C15 version. Does anyone know of one in use?

Can anyone tell me what is the correct ignition timing setting for a 199 cc Tiger Cub which has PVL ignition.

I have acquired a new 'R' Cam and gear from an early Distributor Cub and want to fit it to my later Side Points Engine. I am running electronic ignition so points etc are not an issue. I am getting an earlier type outer cam bush (blind type) to match the 1/16" smaller diameter outer end of the earlier cam shaft. The gear and inner shaft fit into my engine without issue and the overall length looks the same (including the slotted distributor drive of the cam shaft) I will drill into the blind bush from the inside of the gearbox case to supply oil to the outer camshaft bearing. Is there anything else I need to do? It looks as simple as that! …

I have the chance of a BSA C15 in road trim, are they relatively easy to convert for pre65 trials? When converted are they any good or are special frame kits etc required to make them competative?. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated as when these bikes were manufactured I wasn't even born!! Thanks

HI. I'm currently in the process of rebuilding a '58 Triumph 3TA and am wondering what to do about front forks. I have a pair of old bog standard Triumph forks, old meaning springs on the outside! I also have a pair of Bultaco forks, Betor I think. (correct me if I'm wrong) Now looking on various club website that run Pre 65 trials i.e. Poachers Pre 65, Yorkshire classic, Red Rose etc. They all say a similar thing in that the fork is to appear original externally but can have modern parts internally. They all state that Ceriani, R.E.H. and M.P, what ever they are, can not be used. I know I would be within the rules using the old Triumph ones but what about the Bultaco on…

Sorry to post this in this forum but i've just had a call from a distraught Alan Whitton who this morning has had his van stolen a white Transit connect LWB reg NC 56 KKN now Alan is less bothered about his van because insurance will sort that out but inside was his Bantam rolling chassis that he had on his stand at Telford show along with some Triumph Tiger Cub heads and various parts. Alan doesent have any photos of the rolling chassis and needs some for the Police so if ANYBODY has any piccys at all of the Bantam frame from Telford show could they please either post them on here or let me have them and i will forward them to Alan. Obviously if you know of anybody off…

Hi people , anybody had any experience with this clutch conversion , i have one fitted to my bike , and it as no feel , either on/off , reminds me of a Montesa 315r i had a few year back , mod was fit motorcross plates and play around with different oil , any tips -mods please ...Cheers

Hi, I am rebuilding my cub engine at the moment - I have fitted the bearing and oil seal for the gearbox but when I slide the drive sprocket onto the high gear it binds up and is very tight to turn, but when it is not on it turns with ease (as you would expect from a new bearing)! I’m assuming the sprocket is going tight due to friction from the oil seal, even when lubed with oil it is tight! I have the lip seal facing towards the bearing I wasn’t sure if this was correct or not but assumed it was the best orientation? Any help would be appreciated! Henry.

My sons just bought a 1934 Royal Enfield, the cost of bits is killing him well the few we can find, as he is a humble apprentice. Its missing the Mag Dyno thing, only one we have seen is £300 and its not working so as its only for shows and wont be having much road use we are thinking of using a total loss battery powered system, has any one done this? Hi all,now I may be mad but I have a chance to buy what I want of a partly stripped 55-56 350 matchless road bike.I've always liked Ajay/Matchie singles,(rode a 1940 ex WD G3 on girders for several years.)and I'd like to build a rigid trials bike for a few gentle summer rides.My question is what year/years of rigid frame are best to start with ? Also are the mid 50's forks the ones to use?

Hi all, I am just building up an iron barrel B40 from a box and need to get my paws on a first oversize piston kit - any ideas where from ro what alternative people use? As it's for trials, should it be a low compression piston? Your help much appreciated!
