Pre-65 Bikes

Not having an entry list dosent help, but my money is on Graham Du Feu from Jersey on the Ariel. A big bike is no dis advantage in Scotland, and judging by his results since last year, he has continued to improve. A win in Scotland on a big bike could not come at a better time...

Now heres an interesting one. Firstly shame on you if you didnt say hi on Friday and Saturday. I have seen some pictures of a few trick ARMAC frames for Cub's and was wondering if anybody does something similar for BSA's. I have always had BSA's and have plenty of bits to build a C15G or a B40 up. I am sorting out a bike at the minute to have a go again as not rode a trial for over 11 years!!! Would like to have a fairly standard one and a really trick one to cover all options. Anyone know what forks Thorpey has on his ? Certainly look pretty modern.

Came across this on Ebay tonight - seems genuine P65 matchess trials bikes were 420cc with a replica frame and fibreglass tank - one word is wrong in the description - Genuine!

I read some where that one of the top guys had converted their Cub to oil in gearbox instead off a stand alone oil tank to feed the dry sump, does anyone have any details?

As most of you know this winters "project" was an upgrade for the bike i am using in Pre 65 and Classic Trials to replace the old B40. Well it's "finished" in as much as a competition bike is ever finished. Anyway now the real work starts. Fine tuning carburation, playing about with flywheel weights, ignition timing, port timing, suspension rates etc etc etc. And yes i know the frames the wrong colour but i couldnt find any maroon and i had loads of black plus i like black frames

It's been a while but have made a bit of progress with the Ex Eastwood c15. DVLA have sorted the reg doc and it is now registered under its original number with the help from BSA owners club. The engine has been rebored and top end cleaned up, electronic ignition, amal concentric. Have just finished chopping the subframe and sorting out a new front mount, I was worried about this as the bike is very original but once I put sensible shocks on I could hardly touch the ground!, anyway the works bikes had the same treatment. The big subframe mount has been removed and the seat has been modded at the front to nearly fill the gap to the tank. When I removed the original si…

I've acquired this Aluminium tank which has Triumph transfers on but I don't know what model it's for,can anyone help. Who supplies trials alloy tanks for cubs & c15 bikes. Is there an other bike tank that fits these frames, that looks neat ? what are you all using ?.

Which is the best type of crankcase breather for a Trials Cub, some people leave the original with the small hole inside the r/h engine case. Another method blocks this off and then a pipe is fitted from the screw in bung on top of the crankcases, I am told that one can also be fitted on to the head but I have yet to see this type. So which method works the best.

I am seriously contemplating purchasing a frame kit to convert my old and worn out rtl mono into a twinshock. I was wondering whether anybody has a completed bike that I could maybe try, or at least recommend a venue where I could watch one being ridden in a competitive trial. As these kits are quite expensive and I wouldn't like to commit without seeing and trying a finished article and also what problems they encountered during the build. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Hi , I hope some of you Tiger Cub Guru`s can help here. From running on idle,when asking for that initial burst of power, my friends Cub just hesitates, & has a serious flat spot. He stripped the carb to find out what jets were in there ; the carb is a amal 622 needle jet 106 main jet 100 slide cutaway 3 needle has no numbers but has two small rings round the top if that means anything Has anyone any idea`s or experience of this problem?

Firstly a big big thank you to a rider of an Arial today. If not for him i would probably still be on my back at Edensfield, what a total 5h1thole that place is, today. Brings home the old adage "Never go practising alone". Freak accident really came over a blind crest between sections, down a bank, hit a log, went over bars and somehow managed to get the bar end. throttle AND brake lever down the inside of my boot. Trapped under the bike i couldnt move. Luckily the guy on the Arial who was following me, bad move i'm usually lost, managed to stop on the crest. Thought i was going to break me leg but finally managed to move the bike enough to get under the boot and loose…
