Trials Transport

Is anyone using a Peugeot Bipper to transport a bike? Are they big enough? I'm only transporting one bike.

A converted bike holder (brand Eufab) sitting on the car coupling. Total cost: ~40,- Euro

I thought some of you might like to see how I transport my bike around. I don’t have a truck or trailer and was not even considering getting one just to haul my bike around, so I designed and built this one and have used it, with no issues, for about a year now. I’ve read others describe something similar, but I had never seen photos of what it looked like, so as an architect, I thought I’d design and make my own that’s simple, effective and affordable. Hi there I know this has been covered before, but just to check ! I currently use a Nissan NV 200 and can get 2 bikes in no problem. I fancy a VW caddy, but the short wheelbase. I’ve measured, and it seems very tight (may not fit) - but I have read that you can get 2 trials bikes in. Does anyone have an actual experience and hopefully pictures ? I would plan on taking the bulkhead out anyway. I would be looking at something like a 2015 to 2018. hopefully someone can help ! cheers John

Hi All I am thinking of purchasing a ford transit courier sport similar to the photo I have added below, does anyone know if a trials bike will fit in to the back of it please, cheers.

I have a DC lightweight trailer, but slightly concerned at the sharp angle iron bits where the tyres sit, especially when compressed with tie downs. Has anyone modified theirs to help with this? Im thinking either fill gaps with ply, or chop up and old tyre to cover the sharp bits? Any hot tips for tie downs too? Other than the usual round the bars/clamps and foot pegs? Might try a ‘tyre down’ for the rear tyre.

Hello All, Just getting started in trials and I'm looking at the best way to transport bikes in the back of a van. The proworks quickload system looks like it would be ideal but I'm not sure if trials bikes would be too narrow for the footpegs to fit into the footpeg clamps, the system looks like it's designed mainly for MX/enduro bikes. Could anyone give me an idea of the width of trials bikes from footpeg tip to footpeg tip, or let me know if the quickload system is already in use by anyone on the forum? Hi Everyone I have a Peugeot Partner van L1 swb 2017 model with the the bulk head in . What I would like to know is ...could I fit two bikes in ? has any one got pics of this? Defo get one in, as I currently get my sons beta rev 3 125 in there, and I would like to get my self a bike now. hope some one can shed some light on this, and sorry if its been done a million times before.. cheers

Sorry for asking again, as I can see that there are many questions, answers and opinions about various vans, and car variants for transporting trials bikes. But before making a purchase, for clarity, do members on the forum reckon that a trials bike will fit inside a Peugeot Partner Tepee. (And not a WAV vehicle). I moved to the USA on a 3 month work detail and here I am 20+ years later, married, kids, dogs, mortgage……but I left my love back in the UK. I am looking to be reunited with my beloved 1978 Montesa Cota 348. I would love this bike to be my next rebuild project. Does anyone have any bike shipping experience? Hi there. I'm currently thinking of selling our motorhome which is also my motorcycle transport. I just want a small van with 3 front seats. I've been looking at the new shape Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot partner 2019 onwards. It seems they come in a short and longer wheelbase. I was wondering if anyone has any experience and maybe photos of fitting their trials bikes in one of these vans. The long wheelbase one can probably fit a bike in straight against the side? Can you fit a bike in the short wheel base model ? I see part of the passenger seat folds forward. Can you get the front wheel through there ? Have people had to remove the bulkhead to get bikes in ? First post, we're new to trials having just bought my 9 yr old son an Oset 20r (35kg). I was going to buy the witter detachable flange tow bar along with the trusted DC bike rack. However the reviews on the detachable flanged tow bar do not fill me with any confidence. Then for my local tow bar installer refuse to fit one, it seems to be the sideways movement on the detachable that is the issue. Any advice from people with experience before i purchase one please? With a bed extender or just tail gate down it is possible to get two bikes in the maverick. took one to the rents house and got 35mpg to central NY from Michigan and back. Fwd hybrid lariat. Im biased of course and in love! 😍 --Biff

I currently have a 14 plate Berlingo car which is great for transporting a single bike, the rear seats can unclip and can be taken out. I am considering buying a new Berlingo or Rifter car but notice in the new models the rear seats fold flat and there appears to be less less height available. Just wondering if anyone has a new shape vehicle and if can get a bike in easily.

Hi, Noob question. Do you clean your bikes after riding (especially now when there is a lot of mud) and before puting in into the car? If so, do you carry some water and battery powered jet-wash? I mean this is probably less of an issue for van owners. But if you use a car (like Berlingo) then it ma get very messy very quickly. Just thought that it may be easier to clean the bike pre-trasport rathen than clean the car later on.

Here is a new to me Bike. Asked Business owner to install slow throttle. glad he did ! The white truck - It has a header & a blown out muffler, Weber 2 barrel carb.. The Scorpa has a new spark arrestor fresh muffler packing. I like my truck.gets approx 45 mpg. Gasoline here in washington, non ethanol is nearly $4.50 per gallon.

Hello everyone, has anybody out there ever put a Dave cooper bike rack on a Landrover freelander 2 the reason I am asking this is because I"m unsure which rack to go for due to there being no spare wheel on the tailgate, standard car rack or 4x4 ? I have plenty of clearance from bumper with towball, and previously many years ago had one on a ford mondeo which stuck out enough from bumper so just putting it out there, thanks.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a bike cover to use when transporting a trials bike on a car bike rack? I'm wanting something to keep the salt and road grime off the bike when transporting it in bad weather. There's loads of options for road bike storage but I can't seem to find one the right size for a trials bike.

Will a modern trials bike fit in a Suzuki Carry van? I don’t need a van for work or anything so don’t want anything huge on the drive but just something to ferry a bike around - max 35 miles away from home (but will also be MTBs and other sports stuff). My other option is a VW Caddy but don’t need to spend a huge amount for a bike carrier.
