my old insurer has decided not to cover my trials bike 2007 pro,which is registered, as it is a "competition motorcycle". they always have in the past but for some reason they have stopped. Are there any companys that will insure me? Anyone have experience of this? and Does household insurance cover this bike to sit in the garage if i inform them, (they do cover my mountain bike)? cheers wayne

Hi, not sure if this is the right forum for this, but it is linked. I know a few people do laid up insurance for trials bikes but dont know who they are!!! I have been told that NFU do/used to do it, but everytime I have ever rung them the say categorically that they DO NOT offer insurance for trials bikes. I want to sell a registration number off a trials bike and when enquiring about insurance to be able to tax the bike I came across ebike insurance pay as you go. As I only want to insure the bike to tax it to be able to transfer the number this seems a good/ cheap way to get around it. Any one know about this as I have not heard about it before. Not had a road bike for a long while, things have changed. Thanks in advance.

I just finished this tonnaeu cover/Ramp for my F150 short box. All Aluminum (Aluminium for folks back home) checker plate tonnaeu cover & light bar. The ramp is double slide as the bed rails are about 4'6" & the bed length is only 5'6", so a double slide ramp out of grip strut is welded to the under side of the tonnaeu cover. Fully lockable (as the OEM tailgate is lockable). I have more pics but have to get them uploaded tonight & will post more pics if anyones interested. Ok so I know I have posted about this before as I have had problems with my rack rusting. Well today I contacted them. I explained that the rack is only 4 months old and has rust all over it. It frankly look really bad on the back of my car. The rack was purchased from Autowbars and they were great in the delivery and purchase. The racks are advertised "built to last" zinc plated. However, when I rang them this morning they told me they always rust and the zinc plating doesn't help! But what really pushes my button is their recommendation is to spray it with WD40 every week! Hi, I'm looking to get myself a van and I like the look of the Peugeot Expert/Citroen Dispatch/Fiat Scudo models. Does anyone have any experience with these? I have looked at these vans from the outside but the length looks a little marginal especially when I'm looking to transport two bikes. Thanks, Stoford.

Can anyone tell me how they find trailers as oppossed to using vans or racks to cart around a trials bike. I was looking at a van but am now wondering if a trailer would be a cheaper option though i would like to know how secure they are and how easy they are to tie down. Also i dont like the look of my new trials bike all exposed to the eliments and possible catastrophies of other drivers hitting it but perhaps i am being a bit fairy about it all. The cost of a trailer against a van is cheaper but, being short and low it looks a bit difficult to reverse etc should i have to. Any feedback would be appreciated. Can anybody tell me the differnce between a bike rack that ges on a car and one suitable for the back of a van or motorhome. I am sure that I have seen them advertised at different prices. I have managed to blag a motorhome for the Reeth 3 day, but need to get my bike up there. The motorhome has a tow bar, and I can borrow a rack off a friend, but it is a Dave Cooper car type. Can anybody tell me if this will fit? Thanks Dave

Hello all, my appologies for dwelling on the quite boring subject of bike transport but on my last post i was looking at a Citroen Berlingo van. Well this purchase didnt happen for reasons too boring to mention. Anyway i am looking for a smallish van, something that isnt too huge to use for everyday transport as i dont require a van for any other reason. The thing is i dont want somthing so small that it is the equivalent of that Laurel and Hardy sketch where Olly tries to fit his eloped wife into an Austin 7 (i think). Hello all, can anyone tell me if a trials bike fits into a Citroen Berlingo van, i dont expect to be able to ride it in of course but can it be positioned inside without taking bits of the bike? The reason i ask is that i have noticed a very good deal on a nice one that is local to me. I can not take a bike round to try it as i am currently without one & will buying one next month. I have looked at load space but what i need is for someone to be able to tell me that knows as you cant beat good first hand advice, cheers Andy.
