Trials Transport

Just after a little help, I'm in the process of doing my bike test with the intention of putting my bike on the road ( hopefully make it a little easier to get around and keep the boys in blue happy ). Hi Guys Down here in Austraya we have utes and this is what I came up with to fit three bikes and enough gear for a long weekend away (and be able to close the tailgate. I started with a basic design and when it worked added the wing.

Anyone towed a bike in a trailer? Iv got an 8'x5' trailer dont really want to tow with the bike laying down so will convert so it can stand up. Any one else done this? C

I am looking at buying a bike rack for the car and wanted to find out who make them, which ones are the best made etc. The only one I have seen is the dave cooper one but im sure there must be more companies make them.I preferably want one that is coated with something so it doesnt rust so let me know what experiences you have had. One of the headlights on my LDV Cub (rebadged Nissan Vanette) has failed. No biggie, but I can't work out how to remove the headlight unit so that I can replace the bulb! I've tried every retaining bolt and clip in the vicinity but the unit remains very securely attached. If anyone has one of these beasts and acan point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. Does a trials bike fit in a transit connect? (standard size) Will it go in straight or does it have to be at an angle? Thanks.

I remember reading on here once that you could get 2 bikes in the back of a caddy (not the pick up, or brand new one). Someone said you take the mudguard off one, and put one facing one way and one the other. Can't make mine fit. Any tips, do you put them diagnol? Thanks Dave

Has any of you lot got one of those trailers where the bike sits on its sump over the axle,and the front wheel sits ina slot on the a frame?My missus is giving me grief for parking my trailer out side the house,i think if i modify it,it will be smaller and lighter and will fit in me garage.If someone could post a pic, that would be great. Decided at last to change the van. The old tranny (190 high top) is now to big for our needs. Looking to get a smaller van to carry two bikes and have been recommended either the Scudo, Expert or dispatch. Which van is the best and what size engine should I go for. Stuart

does anyone bother to insure their bikes ? if so can anyone recomend a company that will quote for theft cover. my bike is road registered but unless it has full working everthing (lights, horn, speedo,indicators, ect.) it wont be covered on a road policy.
