Right then, A mate and myself are off up to the Steve Saunders Trials School on the 19th of this month. We've both been involved in bikes over the years with more history than I'm prepared to divulge right now due to me hitting 40 this year and he is of a similar vintage. We're both down to do the school to learn how to ride these things as with our combined histories, we've discovered it's not like anything else we've done before. Our aim is to compete in a trial and not compete against anybody else really - we just want to laugh at each others antics and take the michael out of each other. I have a personal long term aim to compete in the Taunton Jubilee LDT (my pl…

Hi, I used to race a bit of MX but been on the road for the past few years - I want to get back to off road as its much more fun! Thinking of either enduro or a trials bike (road legal) which I can scoot off across the many (legal) byways we have around here and mess about. So is there anyone who rides anywhere near here and can recommend places to me? I've seen a few groups of people heading off! I also am not sure on whether to go 2 or 4 stroke? How long would a fuel of tank last roughly? Any information greatly received! Thanks

I am making a comeback to trials soon on a twinshock. I now live in Gloucester, are there any clubs which run twinshock classes locally? Do I need to wear a crash helmet these days?

US. Everyone keeps going on about the youth being the future of our sport and we should satisfy their needs, concerning the rules, stop or no stop. I disagree, it's not the youth that are the future, it's anyone new to the sport, or who comes back into it, what ever their age or sex. I wasn't a young rider when I started, my parents couldn't afford it, I got into trials when I was about 26, after riding road bikes since the age of 16 (my only transport for 10 years) I was always keen on motorcycle sport and watched scrambles down at Matchams and Trials in my local area of Ringwood as a young lad and road racing whilst serving in the Airforce in Germany. I had a few tr…

OK, not sure if this is the correct forum, however I'm sure I will find that one out... The wife owns a GasGas 125 and I have a 250. I am considering riding the 125 in solo events, cos its a great little bike. That leaves me the potential to convert the 250 into an outfit so we can do a husband/wife effort in sidecar events. Having run a few google searched on sidecar trials I can't find any source of outfits and other info. I'm fully prepared to convert the 250 full-time into an outfit. Can anyone help me out? P.S The GasGas is an 07 250 pro. Thanks

Look, with over 100 riders There should have been 12 observers. Instead The organisers get some pretty serious flak becuase 4 sections have to be pulled because only 8 volunteer! If you want to ride be prepared for this sort of situation. It's no good complaining to the organisers of the event if you have nobody prepared to observe. I do it because I am VERY involved in my son's hobby and am prepared to stand and observe on a pretty crap day to get a Trial run. All credit to the observers at the Horsforth trial who turn out every weekend to do so. To those who gave Barry and the Horsforth Crew who set out the Trial considerable grief about not having 12 observers and d…

Having been incredibly impressed by the amount raised by Richmond's 2005 Scott Trial (as detailed here) I'm determined to do what I can to get a Trials Central Charity Team together to support their 2006 event. It's been talked about before, but never followed up on. This time I'm serious and will devote the time and effort into making it happen. We've got a number of riders on these forums who may feel that the Scott, overall is just too much, but as part of a charity relay team could have a great day being part of the toughest one-day Trial in the world and also do a lot of good for the Scott Charities at the same time. Via the site I think we could do okay on the fun…
