Has anyone heard of Trials bikes being used by the military at some point? (anyones, not just ours) I recently picked up a rear wheel off fleabay which has been painted in what is best described a "sand" colour. This has been done by dipping the entire assembly, not applied by brush or spray. When removed, the metal underneath is as new. It's a Beta/Sherco/GasGas type hub, with stainless spokes and a gold coloured alloy tubeless rim. Just wondering, that's all. Mark

Picture this me been at work all day thinking "great get home telly on watch sheffield result!!!" what happens them usless b*&$ards at eurosport stick snooker on now i like watching that but when you missed sheffield cos of other commitments its just not the same. Have looked on sky planner and its listing it onwed 25th at 4pm ch411 but dont hold your breath!!

Hello there, Can anyone advise me where i could arrange for a 10 year old to try trials riding before i buy a bike. Somewhere around the Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, London, Kent type areas. I know there are some experience day but many seem to be 4+ hrs away and i can't see anything local. Google searches don't really turn up anything good. Do any clubs offer a chance to have a go at all? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide, keen to get him interested but want to be sure before buying a bike, Dave

Last night at the Milton Keynes Council planning meeting, approval was given for the construction of a new Trials practice area. The land will be developed to "produce one of the best facillities in England" and it can be ridden by members of the Milton Buzzard MCC. Fair comment was made with residents fears of the noise issues paramount but at the vote the planning was granted 5 to 1. Long Live the Buzzards!!!!

Hi everybody. Has anybody recieved their ACU handbook yet. I asked for mine on CD and it isn't here yet. A mate of mine ordered the book and that hasn't arrived yet either. The ACU told me it would be here by the second week in Janruary. What's going on???

Hi. I'm thinking of buying a second-hand road-registered trials bike, and am getting conflicting advice as to what one need to be road registered. My understanding is that for a daytime MOT, it needs a speedo, horn, and brake light. I guess for a full MOT it needs front & rear lights. Anybody got the definate answer? Thanks, Nokesy.

I've rode the Lyn Traders Trophy Trial now for the last 5 years and i must say what an awesome trial it is. Its a national trial so therefore has 2routes around some fantastic land in north devon. Thing is, the amount of pot hunting GRABBERS who claim they are clubmen and ride the easy route(which i must say is far from easy but alot more managable than the expert route). If you win a award you do get a cash reward which is very nice but how can you give it a good go when you get damn good experts riding your route and basically stealing this from you. The Mid Wales Centre will be running an extra round of the 2005 Novogar Championships on 25th September 2005. As the ACU stated on their website, they have been looking for extra rounds to replace cancelled events, and the Mid Wales Centre have confirmed that they are available to organise on this date. The Mid Wales Centre Secretary asked me to post the Regs and Entry Form here on TrialsCentral. This is a joint effort within the centre, not associated with any one club, so things are looking pleasantly healthy on the manpower front. Its the Mitchell Trial this weekend, just wondered if anyone had got an entry list? Plus whats everyones thoughts on the trial. Who's gonna win? whats the venue like? is it a big lap? Whats the weather gonna be like. Hopefully not like the St Davids.

At various trials I have got chatting to a guy from the north east (I think) who rides a Scorpa. He had a alloy fuel tank mounted to the front of his forks where the number plate would go, which he had had made for him. He was definately at the Lakes last year, and I think he was at the Manx. He also brought some engine covers for his scorpa off my mate. Anyway the point I am trying to get at is, does anybody know who he is? I would like to get a picture of his fuel tank so I can have a go at getting one made. If he doesn't mind me copying him. I am hoping to possibly do a few long distance trials/ a bit of trail riding on my monty and need to carry more fuel safely. Or…
