Hello All, Hope you can help. I have always been interested in off - road bikes, motorcross, trial's and quad's. Now here comes the question's, Before I decide to take up Trial riding as another hobby/sport I want to actually give it ago pre spending my cash, I don't want to lay out my money for something that I aint going to take to. Is there anywhere that does taster session's? So you can give it a try before you buy sort of thing. I have seen the demo day's where you can have a go on a new set of bikes etc, however with that I will need to buy safety equipment but as i previously said it then costs me money. I have seen places where you can have a motorcross exper…

Having recently ridden the hafran rally and in my mind an incredible event with amazing scenery and a fantastic way to spend a day. I thought I'd put it to the TC community to suggest amazing must do trials. Rate them on variation of terrain and scenery along with the nature of the event.

I am looking to maybe have a go at trials riding and was pointed in the direction of the Spen Valley trial and the Horsforth trial both on this Sunday (30th) to go have a watch of what it is like. Been on both club websites to find details but it doesn't say anything about start times or anything. As a spectator what time is best to turn up? I dont want to turn up early and be stood around waiting while things are set up or whatever as I will have my little nephew with me and he will be getting restless just waiting and not watching bikes. So when is best to turn up? Also which do people think would be better for a total novice to go watch, Horsforth or Spen Valley? I und…

I have just been looking at the dates for the Inter Centre Team trial, & it is on the same weekend as the Andorra World Round, which is not unusual, this rules out the top adult brits, but this year it will have an impact on the Youths event on saturday as well. Wiggy, Ross and Robert Andrews will be in Andorra I Imagine, so seriously weakened teams their. Plays into the hands of us Yorkies, hopefully!

Okay it's just in the Yorkshire area but Jack Challoner has made "Look North" with an interview about his invitation to compete in the XTrial at Sheffield. John Lampkin also makes an appearence. I couldn't see who the "three wise men" were watching Jack At Addingham Moorside.

I bought my first trials bike in December last year, rode it for the first time Sun Jan 3rd... ..and not again until lockdown allowed in April. I'm a cowardly novice that can do rudimentary basics, but that's it. I've entered a Sidcup Club (Canada Heights) practice trial as I'm keen to try real sections and learn more, but know I'll be either getting fives or taking fives everywhere! Will my lack of ability frustrate more seasoned riders, or is it accepted (dare I even say encouraged?) that new riders need to start somewhere?

I was informed today of the passing of a good friend and Yorkshire trials stalwart Norman Pickles. I have known Norman since the first trial I ever rode, giving me advice on what line to take, and quick to point out it was my fault when I messed up, again this year at the SSDT, he was keeping me right on what line to take at Trotters burn, while he observed the section. cheers old lad, they don't come any better.

Re: Master Class. We had quite a lot of good sensible debate on this topic in Nov - and I explained in detail etc how it was formed - its intended purpose and the fact that a decision would have to be taken. I note from the latest posts that as few people are disappointed - and I certainly echo that view. I still believe the Master Class was a good stepping stone - as well as allowing the Clerk of Course a little flexibility. It will as - someone else has said be introduced into Welsh Champ this year - and reports are that it is good. The trouble is with any further debate on the matter is that we shoot off on a tangent about the pro's and cons of the whole Champ f…

Hi, Myself and a couple of riding mates are looking to do a trial or two away from our local area for a change of scenery. We are based in Hampshire so experience plenty of mud, tree roots, logs etc but fancy riding something a little different. We don't mind travelling and staying overnight for the "right" venue. Our riding level is clubman C route so we are not looking for anything too severe but quite fancy some stream / river riding or mild rocks, the kinda things we don't get down south... Open to all suggestions with the criteria that the venue must be in England or Wales. Please list venue and club that runs the trial and any pictures would be a bonus! Cheers, …
