It's gratifying to know that our chosen sport is just about the safest motorsport there is. But nothing is totally safe, and medical events can happen anywhere (especially as many of us are no longer in the first flush of youth). I do think organising clubs could do a little more on this front. I know Golden Valley have a defibrillator that is placed at Section 1, but I only know that from the time I observed Section 1 for them. It has never been mentioned at signing-on or rider's briefing. At signing-on with another club, I saw what looked like an old tupperware box marked First Aid. So here are my suggestions for consideration: Each club should have a decen…

the govenment is trying to bring in a daft legislation so ALL motorbikes, yes all including trials bikes, crossers, speedway bikes, motoGP bikes have to be road registered to stop us riding them illegally, which most of us arnt doing anyway, they are bringing it in to stop yobbo's on mini moto's taring round there neighbour hoods distrurbing people, but they cant jst stop mini moto's so they have to stop us all! the only way to get round it is to road legal your bike, other wise it will be confiscated and destroyed!! for more info its in the motoring pages in the daily telegraph on saturday the 17th march

Just been sent the email below regarding the Longmynd Trophy Trial next weekend from Kirsty and Chris. Please keep an eye on the web site link for updates, this is not a cancellation notice for anyone going just an advance notice of how things stand at the moment. If you know anyone riding but may not see this please keep them updated next week. Saturday 4th August Hi all, I am just sending this email as an early warning that there is a possibility that we may have to cancel the Longmynd Trophy Trial. I am sure by now that most of you are aware that there has been an outbreak of Foot and Mouth near Guildford, Surrey and the seriousness of this for the farming communit…

New to Trials central so if I've plonked this in the wrong place please excuse me. Just thought those of you looking for a trip away that might mean taking the rest of the family along, and still getting some great trials fun in too. Would like to know more about this place. My missus can't stand bikes, might be something to do with looking at me lying in a road surrounded by paramedics four years ago while 6 months pregnant. (before you all start, I was going very slowly when I hit the diesel slick, and even slower when I came into contact with the roundabout and the bike was OK anyway). I have a four year old daughter who, if you've got one needs a lot of entertaining…

Much diplomacy post the first round from the published statements by riders and importers. Plaudits to the organising club and all those who travelled a LONG way to ride. When was the last time a BTC round had that many starters? That alone has to stand out as a mjor positive The 'official ' comments suggest that it was too 'easy' as the top lads dropped less than half a dozen.. have they perhaps grown complacent and expect to be able to drop 20 or 30 and finish in the top three ( how many other trials this weekend were won by riders dropping about 3.. most i would think) the lads and lasses dropping 100+ perhaps didnt think it was 'easy' one thing is for sure, if nati…

hi im after a trials bike like a beta evo 125. there is many more i would consider just using that as an example. what realistically would the top speed be of a bike like this? im 22 just under 6' and very thin so i dont weigh alot. the reason im asking is if i can avoid it i dont want to have to get a trailer to get to events. if i registered it with the dvla, mot, insurance etc would it be ok to ride on the road? i.e. not too slow i would be a hazard to myself. 125 is the only option because i dont have a motorbike licence. hope someone can help i have been googling for a while but not much has come up. cheers tom

Hard to decide which forum for this but here we go. Is it possible to get the nylonish shims that fit on the AJP lever pivots, or something that will do the job?

A while back I was given a rare copy of the book "Trials and Trials Riding" by A.B. Bourne, published in 1939. It was passed to me by a gentleman who had found it amongst his father's possessions and thought it would be of interest. He believes his father picked it up during his National Service and the book has "Orderly Room" written in pencil on the front and "Supplied for the public service" stamped inside the front cover which would support that theory. I've read it (it's amazing how little has changed) and it's now just gathering dust so I'll be donating it to the Scott Trial Charity Auction. Definitely one for a collector of Trials memorabilia.
