Reet time for a new SSDT topic. Top 7 or 8 world riders not riding. Majority of the entry club riders. Nothing mega about the sections, straight forward traditional no stop section. Probably more spectators watching at Lagnaha farm on Monday "if used" than most British champ rounds will get, WHY? From a spectators point of view, why will you spend more time watching a majority club entry ride , than probably watching the top world riders go at it on the mega stuff ?

Watched the 1st day at Lagnaha and saw Dabill get away with a "stop" at the end of the 2nd sub. Its amazing how such a knowledgable crowd applauds what was (IMHO) a clear 5. He must have been stationary parallell to the ends cards for 3-4 seconds before he decided what he was going to do. Are the observers briefed at all about the scoring regieme???

Hi all I will be visting the SSDT for the first time this year,due to the nature of the event the SSDT cannot help me with the following due to the route being kept a secret,which i totally understand. I want to make sure i witness the riders go up the pipeline section,can anybody help me with the location and if they ride it more than once,if so whay days?Which of all the sections is a must see?i accept all,but as it is my first time i would like to see the toughest sections. I ask this as i would like to book my hotal soon as can onlu go for 2 days. Thank you in advance David

Just been listening to the news re the shutting down of Scotlands petro chemical plant, and apparently people are panic buying, some forecourts are empty of fuel Will this have any direct affect on the SSDT?

If you're heading up from Englandshire for the Pre-65 or SSDT and normally go Glasgow -> Erskine Bridge -> Loch Lomond -> Crianlarich then life got a little bit easier over the past year. If you normally go up to Stirling then via Callander you can ignore this! The M74 motorway has now been extended into the centre of Glasgow so you no longer need to take the M73 then the M8 (which can be hell at certain times of the day) It's dead simple and as it's just one motorway straight in, you can't possibly get lost! Has the SSDT lost it ? yes a full entry but , A week to go and nothing no posts or build up .The last post march 16 and that was about Honda .When i was riding the trial all 20 of them there was a buzz about it but nothing now ! Has it gone the same way as the named nationals of old, forgot and just another trial ? . Look at photos of old 5 deep of spectators now look 50 if lucky. People dont even want go and watch . A total lack of build up for the ssdt

Due to the weather last year (Blame Slapshot3) and the number of bikes that had problems crossing some of the rivers up to Blackwater Dam, the club have invested in this to aid riders who are struggling

Hi Looking at the results, some riders have like 1100 marks for one day? Looking I see riders score 50 marks for one section? What makes you get a 50? Cheers

There are rumours that world championship rider Albert Cabestany is putting in an entry for the SSDT 2010.

Some advice for this years event..................... Your rucksack can never hold everything you want, but they CAN hold everything you need. Wear Heavy Boots. You can't kick ''Rocks'' when you're wearin' yer Wellies You'll get farther down the road if you learn to back her off a bit. Never ask your bike to scream before her throat is good and warm. This year SSDT 1 hour DVD is now shipping. I have a bunch leaving today but if you haven't already requested a copy now is the time. This DVD video was intended to be free of charge. However when I tote up all the costs involved in not just staying in Fort William for a weeks filming but buying DVD

Does anyone know what happened to Howard Jackman who rode a 240 Armstrong in the 1984 SSDT? He may have been a works rider.

SSDT Secretary and all round good lass - our very own Highland Lassie - is getting on her push bike and pedaling for Leukaemia Research charity. No not the 2011 routes a bit early for that! This year I toured around the trial with my little friend GPS. It doubled up as a speedo stopwatch and I am sure there was a horn in there some place as well. Well what am I getting at, the device has recorded all the routes for the week and I have just finished downloading them onto Garmin conect where they can then be viewed on google maps and earth. Further to this it gives all my information for each day speeds, altitude etc etc....... the times are a bit vague because I had to start it running during my 30 mins maint. time in the morning.
