Hello, I have been reading the supplementary regs and have realised that after going through the final time check I have to stay in the car park. I was planing to go across the road to my accommodation to work on the bike as I will be riding a fantic this year. Does anyone know if any of the dealers would be offering a support service eg shelter and airline (at a cost?) to independent riders? Many thanks

hi all, me and a mate are travelling down from caithness on the bikes to watch this years ssdt, thing is we can not stay for all off it! so when is the best day to come down between the 4Th and the 12Th? is the start better than the end?? any help would be great, OH and can you camp near there or will i have too book the campsite?? cheers mikey

Went to a talk at the Nevis center in Fort Willim last night, first class night, a very informative talk by john Moffat Great pictures and video from years gone by up to 2006 trial, good to see the trophy`s up close. Brilliant display by Danny and Duncan on the pushbike trials bikes. many thanks to John and everyone involved.

I hope the riders in these pictures dont mind me using their pics as examples but i couldn't help but notice how many riders stick their tounges out when riding. 1st, thank you guys. Amazing forum you have here, I'm into reading for few days now. Lots of useful information. I'm thinking going the SSDT next year. My goal is to enjoy the event and to try to pass it nicely. Not competing with anyone beside myself. My Trial skill are novice+. I used to compete in Europe 10 years back on Scorpa easy 280 with Sneezy team (Eddy Moermans) from Belgium (are they still running?), and I even went 2 times to compete in the "4 days of Crouse" in south of France. I believe I have the endurance for the SSDT, after finishing twice the ISDE (Chile 2007 and Mexico 2010) and the Baja 1000 solo rider (23 hours straight). Can I reach my goals? I d…

I've watched a few of the many videos that have been supplied by "generous" sources and I had a thought, I was watching Shaun Morris on Lagnaha and there was a top ten in-the-world guy struggling (well for a one) when Murray Whittaker struggled through for a three. The point I'm trying to make is: is it necessary for every world championship round to have 15 rev & splatter sections when a decent stream can challenge all and desist none? BTW kudos Murray, good ride.

going up to the ssdt to spectate for the first time. was wondering if the list of routes and directions how to get to them will be listed on this site beforehand. if not where is best place to find them

I was hoping a few of you SSDT vets, could point me in the right direction as far as getting my bike through scrutineering. What does my bike need to have to pass? As it stands, I don't have light's, speedo or side stand. I am aware that I need a side stand and speedo, however, can I get away with a cheap speedo from halfords? Also do I need a horn? Basically I'm not wanting to spend too much money, and from the price list for the speedo, wiring loom, horn and lights, it starts to get a wee bit pricey. cheers.

Started trials at 24 - so I’m only doing it for fun but I would like to compete some prestigious trials in a few years to come (been riding a year and a bit) i definitly want to have a go In the ssdt. Don’t really care if I come last as long as I finish;) what sort of a standard do I need to be riding at to comfortably finish the trial?? Is there any other trials that are a good indicator if I’m ready? Won’t be for at least another few years but it’s nice to have goals !!

Does anyone know what happened to Howard Jackman who rode a 240 Armstrong in the 1984 SSDT? He may have been a works rider.
