Thought I'd get in 1st and title the topic before some one else says it!!! This section has been quiet for ages now so I thought I'd post a couple of pics of a project I should have done by now. I've been collecting loads of parts over the past year or so, I just need to get the rest of it mocked up and fabricated then strip back down and refurbish it all. I was lucky to get one of the last 2 new mudguards in existence, I'm not going to use it though, it's too rare so I'm getting replica's made as I know I'll end up breaking it. Spot the parts that shouldn't be on the bike.

Hello all I have just bought an '85 TY250 and want to fit lights. The bike has both coils, but all I can see in terms of powered wiring is one wire that is on the right hand side of the air box. This is giving out 6v, but is the only wire that is available with power. The kill switch and wiring is present, but I cannot find any other wires to power the front light etc. Any ideas?

TY350, sat open out in the weather for a bit, crank is stuck transmission is free, I have the rest of the parts minus the wrist pin. Bore and piston are perfect. If it's worth rebuilding I'll send it to B&J Racing, just looking for opinions.... I know, it's a crime but I'm not the one who did this!

Are there anny specialist dealers for AC mono parts in Europe? i am looking for specific parts for a Fantic 305. Just mounting new footrests was a lot off work as i am trying to keep it as close to original spec as is posible. So this means no welding to reposition the footrests and as litle modern parts as posible. Personly i am a strong believer in keeping a classic original, i think that is part off the classic trialsport.

Some of you must of encountered thie before. I need to change the rear wheel bearings of a Mecatecno Dragonfly im restoring. The trouble is that the long spacer inside the wheel that the wheel spinde slides through is fixed into both wheel bearings. It wont budge at all. Id normally tap the bearings out with a long screw driver from the opposite side of the wheel. With this wheel the screwdriver just slides through and there are no ledges to get a purchase on. Any ideas. I dont want to have to resort to picking the bearing apart . LOL

In February 2016 i spotted an ad on the net, about a day's drive away for a set of 4 (four) Japan market 1984 ty250 monos plus spares. Had to borrow a pick up and drive there and bring them back. Paid about £820 for the lot. 3 S models and 1 R model, one even a decent runner, and useful spares inc a 5th motor. 3 steel tanks, 1 plastic tank and a majority of the plastics turned to dust. Amazing what UV does...

I was just wondering if the only difference between the Ty250 and 350 is simply the engine size/bore? I can only get hold of a workshop manual for a 350, and wondered how relevant it was to my 250. Looks pretty much the same, but my friend said that once about a girl he met in Thailand...

Now this has probably been debated on here many times but i seriously would appreciate the advice. Some of the local "Classic" clubs dont seem to cater for or want the pre 65 bikes so as they have an air cooled mono class thought i might try that seeing as i'm an old fat git with very little talent so the modern trials are not my cup of cocoa. Seems to come down to TY250 mono, Beta TR34, Fantic 301/303 i've seen a Montesa 309 and a Gas Gas but spares might be a problem. TY250 is probably the favourite as good parts availability and bullet proof but are they competitive against the Beta or the Fantic? Seem to remember they could hold their own in the early 80's but i …
