I received an email this morning from Ryan Young, I think most I know get along well with Cody Webb, I always enjoy being around the Webb family at trials. I think it will be good for the sport in the USA that Cody becomes #1 rider for GG USA, now top two US riders are on different brands, and I'm sure it will spice up the compitition for 2010. From Ryan.> Fellow Sherco team riders, We wanted to let you know that we received a call from Cody Webb today informing me he is going to ride for team Gas Gas this year. Cody had been a top rider with Sherco since 2005 and won two indoor championships for us, he has contributed to the team in more ways than I can count, his…

Can anyone make some sense what's going on at the AMA? In a nutshell, the AMA brings in a new guy. THe new guy is one paranoid SOB. One said SOB boss dumped two long-standing workers - who by all accounts are loyal, hard-working employees. Said boss hauls them out of the building like criminals. Then the fall-out comes. One employee demands the reversal of said firing. Next, a board member resigns. . As this is playing out, all employees are working in an environment of fear. Then, the AMA website goes down. Is the AMA falling apart?

A fellow rider called me today and told me a Long Story about a fellow that had e-mail'ed him wanting to buy his bike. Seems as though they had everything worked out when this guy started pulling the check scam! Being a pretty savvy fellow, he had the cashiers check(with no return address) from Boston examined and found it to be a fony! All the while he said he was recieving phone messages and e-mails with instructions amd shipping orders and currier pick up orders for the cash difference! Thankfully, he did not fall for it, but asked me to remind everyone! They may not all be from Nigeria! Cheers,

In my 36 years of Trials participation, I have to say we now have a Checking Nightmare on our hands. I helped check a section at National Round 1 here in Ca. We were told "any contact with a section marker/sign is scored a 5". "But you can run over a ribbon with no penalty as long as the tire is not past the ribbon with ground showing between the tire and ribbon". It seems to me these 2 conflicting situations makes little common sense. We did not penalize any rider who may have come in contact with a sign short of knocking it over. In previous years, when a rider displaced a sign, it was easy to argue as the infraction was clear to see to the checker and rider due …

I hereby dedicate my El Trial de Espana ride to Christy. You can only imagine the motivation you get from having that woman on top of a huge step spotting you. With a crowd of thousands cheering me on I was able to block it all out except for her voice telling me I could do it. Of course I also have to credit Kip Webb as well. Also instilling confidence to attempt the huge stuff knowing that gorilla was there to catch my bike if I failed, which he had to do a couple of times.

Your right Citytrials, I was thinking of sponsoring Patrick but your astute point about Clive "No Jive" winning all the time makes me think he's deserves a sponsorship more than Patrick Smage! Hey when was the last time Patrick won a national? He's not nearly as good as No Jive!

The Border War of 05 is just around the corner. 30 April and 1 May 05. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there. The special twists for this year include a Woods bike, or Hare Scrambles class with a special entry price of only $10 so that these guys can get out and give trials a try on the machines that they have. If I can put it together, we will have a popcorn party, and movie viewing on Saturday evening. www.setrialsriders.org or www.trialsinc.org will get you too the flyer http://www.setrialsriders.org/2005_Event_I...lyer%202005.pdf Or give me a call... My e-mail has been crazy as of late, or reply here with any questions. 931-551-8129

For the last 3 years I have been doing my best to ride other clubs events. On top of meeting a bunch of great people it has given me a chance to observe the trends past NYS. Not to my surprise, or anyone else Im thinking, attendance is dropping in a big way. Now with a substantial bump in AMA insurance and less riders to cover costs I have to wonder where our sport stands... How much is too much to pay for a local event? We can all just raise membership costs and event prices but Im worried that will turn Dad and his 2 kids away. If it costs him 100 bucks in entry fees maybe little league is looking a lot better. Cant afford to turn away any youth. In all the places I ri…

Hello All, I would like to hear from you about your clubs. What is your membership? How many show up to ride at events? How many new riders joined this year? And do you have spectators show up to watch your events not just talking about family members showing up to watch. Who has the most successful clubs and why? List your club

Hey Dude, Congratulations on your victory this weekend!!! I've been waiting for this one for a while [not as long as you]. You've worked hard and shown incredible spirit, strength and I'm proud as hell to be associated with you. Maybe it's time for the rest of you "My child is gonna be the next world champion" soccer moms to take a second to pay some respect to this kids accomplishments of late. While your looking at yourselves in the mirror, Cody is out there kicking some serious ass, including the 23 time national champ Geoff Aaron. I'm thowing a huge party in Lake Isabella this weekend for Cody. Hope you all can come.

I just got word Cody took it to Patrick today in New York. Patrick was mounted on a 4-stroke Sherco. Well done, Cody. On the senior side, Papa Smage took first. Congats, Noel, on your senior class championship.
