Group, Can we start talking about Mid-Ohio yet? I took a rock through a side case at Marion but have fixed that and am back riding. 95 degrees plus here in NC so I'm getting some heat conditioning while I'm at it. I came back from Marion and changed all the sections in the woods around my house. Made them tighter and put more challenges into each one. Sections there had 8 to 10 different things you had to do where Ocala and Devils Ridge had maybe 3 to 5. Marion had been laid out by Bob Ginder (I think) - anyone have any idea who is laying out Mid-Ohio. You might want to note that there is a discount for registering on-line prior to showing up (for the Mid-Ohio com…

Well, I'll let the cat out of the bag. Anyone who attends Ohio this weekend will be in for a treat. Patrick is giving EnduroCross a shot. In fact, they'll be so many Smages on the line, Ryan Young won't know which is which. Get your tickets now! It should be on heck of a show.

After talking to several folks, I know that I am not the only one with a motorcycle in the living room. The photo below is from the den of the TTC Lodge. Thanks to Brad Baumert for the loan of the immaculately restored Bultaco Sherpa T and to Les Mizell for his handiwork building the bike stand out of a log from our property. How about some other photos of living room bikes? dan

Well our California Youth Team is once again getting geared up for the Youth Nationals at the TTC in July. We have a few fund raisers going on to help us with the large expense to get the kids and bikes back there. First at our local ATA events my wife runs the youth team Hot Dog stand in which we sell hot dogs, drinks and snacks. Everything is on a donation bases so you can just pay what you want, our riders and family's are very kind and we often have 10's and 20's even though nobody eats that much After one event we found a $100.00 dollar bill in the jar and we don't know who left it, we thank that person very much Next we are having our own youth team trial o…

All praise goes out to Beta's Ronnie Commo III. Ronnie made the main event this weekend in South Carolina. Riding two classes, Ronnie logged some 20 laps on the track. His speeds were nearly identical on both bikes. Phil and Ronnie had an epic battle in both the Trialscross main event and $Dash-for-Cash$. Phil took the win in the Trailscross. Ronnie slipped by Phil after a silly crash to edge him in the money race. Ronnie finished 2nd, Phil 3rd. The winner opted out of the main event (why, we still don't know) - opening up a spot for Ronnie. Little Commo III, all 140 pounds (soaking wet) took the big Beta Enduro bike and played with the PROS. He earned himself some va…

I dont know what you guys thought of the nationals, I want some of you guy's that showed up, opinions. What about the rest of us? Unlike Michlin wants to think or make it out to be, Trials is an AMATURE sport in the USA... remember, Motocross used to be the same, so maybe in the future it will happen to trials... but right now admit it, trials is AMATURE sport. Reason I bring this up? well... I just wonder what you other "clubmen" think? Right now, the biggest class at most of our clubs here in the middle USA,(meaning the most riders drawn to show up and compete MONTHY, not the once a friggin year crowd) is Amature, Intermediat, and Sr expert (on that list we all …

I just received my renewal notice for my AMA membership, the full membership in the past has allowed me to compete in AMA sanctioned trials, you could also sign on for as many years has you wish to pay for at one time, that expires date/year shown on card Along with the renewal notice, is a Racing membership renewal, for AMA members who wish to race in 08, Well I presume 08, because the form they sent says if your racing in 07 important notice, this form requires you fill out and have notorized an annual release and liability waiver. In the past I have signed the liability waiver at the sign in of the individual event. My question is! can I still renew as a full mem…

I've had a couple of US users make contact following the site upgrade with login problems from swbell.net/com addresses. I have tried responding to these users to help resolve the issues, but AT&T/swbell are blocking emails. I've contacted them, but as usual in corporate world, no response. If anyone affected can make contact via an alternate email address we can get things sorted out.

Thumpertalk says Geoff Aaron is signed up for Endurocross again. Howzabout that, Beave? Hopefully the Champ will do as good as he did last year, and maybe even better. The Trials community will be as proud as ever to see OUR top guy in the fray and kickin' some serious KTM butt, right Atom? Go Goeff, we love ya man! YEEEEHAAAAA!!!! ENDUROCROSS!!! BE THERE!!! :) :) :) I've got serious case of Endurocross Priopism. Sorry...

For the last 3 years I have been doing my best to ride other clubs events. On top of meeting a bunch of great people it has given me a chance to observe the trends past NYS. Not to my surprise, or anyone else Im thinking, attendance is dropping in a big way. Now with a substantial bump in AMA insurance and less riders to cover costs I have to wonder where our sport stands... How much is too much to pay for a local event? We can all just raise membership costs and event prices but Im worried that will turn Dad and his 2 kids away. If it costs him 100 bucks in entry fees maybe little league is looking a lot better. Cant afford to turn away any youth. In all the places I ri…

Looking to meet up and ride and practice with some other people in CT. I have about an acre behind my house with a nice stream bed for practice but I am looking for other areas and people to ride with. Practicing by yourself isnt the same as practicing with others to help push and critique. I live in Southbury CT. Who else is in the surrounding area willing to meetup!? Mike

What would it take to get our classes across the US the same. Something interesting (ok, maybe I was a tad aggravated becasue it happens to be a pet peeve of mine) happened at the last trials. My son was asked what class he normally rode, and told he should ride that class, Makes sense, I will agree with that, EXCEPT, Mr. Bill was putting on the event and he operates under the "California" classes (for lack of a better term. So his classes go like this EXPERT: Black Plate. White numbers and letters MASTER; Red Plate. White numbers and letters ADVANCED: White Plate. Black numbers and letters INTERMEDIATE: Yellow Plate. Black numbers…
