Hello, i'm new to trials ideally want a 250, but 290's and 300's are a lot better value and cheaper second hand, can you reduce the power any way to make them easier for a beginner. I'm looking at a beta evo 290 2011. I have road bike experience, I know this is totally different to trials but i do know how to ride a bike. Thanks for help.

Using NGK BPR 5ES in the rev 3 270, have done 3 plugs in the past three weeks now, is it the heat? or something else. Bike is running superb now and plug chops show nice colours and does nt seem to be running lean or rich. Did hear the Resistor type plugs have a tendancy to go bang often so i am trying the non resistor type for the next few weeks. Anyone else been popping plugs lately?

I'm currently speaking with a guy in France but he's not 100% he has one cause hes currently on holiday.... I'm wanting to change foot pegs, gear slector, and clutch & break leavers are these interchangeable with other years or not?

It is getting spark and fuel but it will not start. Last time I rode it there were no problems, running fine. It sat for about two weeks, and now it won't run. Any ideas?

  7. I’m often told when riding trials that my 2016 4t is really quite. However, I have always thought that it was a bit “tappety”. Anyhow I decided that if I can’t ride it at the moment I might as well check the clearances on the valves. So I ran the bike yesterday and left it overnight to cool right off. Today I stripped the bike down and took the valve covers off to check the clearances and found that the tappers were really tight! So much so that it took a full turn and a half on the adjustment screw to get the feeler gauges in. Any how I went ahead and adjusted to the correct gap and rebuilt the bike. Now the bike won’t start and is really hard to kick over. I…

Is the flywheel securing nut Lh tbread? also, what about the threads on the flywheel itself where you screw in the puller… M32x1.5 I think?.. left or Rh thread? (cant see why it should be Lh but you never know?!)

Hi all new to trials and site. I have just bought a beta rev 3 2004 and after just a few hours riding I found that my clutch (compared to mates 2008 GG) was just too stiff to get the control I need and was cramping my finger. Is there anything I can do to get a lighter clutch lever feel. Thanks in advance for reading and replies. Will

I have a Sherco, I purchased it used, but the guy who had it before me put a fork on it from a Beta. I think it was from a 2012 EVO 80 Sr. He said it was a better fork than what was on it originally. It looks exactly like what is shown here http://www.paioli.com/paiolini/detail_en.php?id=36 It has adjustments for preload on the left and what I think is rebound on the right top caps. It works OK in general, but I noticed that the travel/stroke is only about 140mm and I seem to bottom it out easily when taking drops to flat. The link states it should have 170mm stroke. The stanchions are 38mm and the total length does seem to be close to what the link states at about ~760…

Hi After my engine being apart and I am putting the clutch fluid on my rev3 back in, in through the master cylinder and out of bleed nipple all the air bubbles seem to be gone after I was purging it through and left it for a few hours but when I now pull the lever in after a few pulls it won't pull back in to the bar (acts like the front brake) the first pump after a purge is ok but gets progressively worse until it will only pull in 1/2 way. Anybody got any ideas about why that is? it wasn't like that before I took it apart:)

  14. Hi there. My bikes revs dramatically increase when bike is on an incline (front higher than rear). Even an incline as little as 10 %. I've checked floats and they are set properly and appear to cut off when perfectly horizontal. This has been a long running occurance. This weekend I have stripped and cleaned carb, decoked front pipe, cleaned and repacked silencer, cleaned air filter, new plug and changed premix to Castrol power 1 racing. Running 50:1. I'm going to have a play with the air screw and get that set properly as I think it's running rich. Any idea what could be causing this ? Obviously it was like this before I carried out the weekend maintenance. I …

So casings split… nothing obvious that’s broken or damaged. Using an Allen wrench on the gear change drum on the clutch side I can get 1st, neutral and 2nd… and there it stops? always had a problem when going 2nd-3rd it felt like 2nd hadn’t fully disengaged but cleared if I went back to 2nd the up into 3rd… lovely & clean inside.. no debris or any sort to be found which in some respects is very good but was hopping to see something obvious and maybe something sat in the bottom of the casing! any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

My new to me 2011 Beta Evo 300 4T wasn't running right this past event. I just bogged down and run it like cr@p for a while. I could barely keep it alive by playing with the throttle. Even after a new Iridium plug, it still was bogging down on full throttle, after some play with the choke on and throttle, it cleared and ran fine for the rest of the day but ruined my mojo and scared me anytime I needed a handful of throttle and I ended up chickening out. Air filter is clean, she runs on M99 (Tesco 99 oct fuel), wiring and plug is clean. It felt like there wasn't getting any fuel in higher revs to the engine.... Any suggestion where to start looking fo…

  19. Hi there. I have a Beta Rev 3 2008 with KEIHIN carb. The bike starts great with the choke. The second I touch the throttle it bogs down and dies. As soon as it’s slightly warm I can turn the throttle fully open quickly and it’ll bog for a second and spring to life. No problem whatsoever when warm. Could this be a fuel issue? Maybe need a slight adjustment to the air screw? Thanks

In hopes someone may know. I am looking to order a set of Renthal 673 bars for my '21 evo 300. Has anyone gone from stock to these? Looking to get maybe 1/2 in rise. Not excited about changing geometry but, I have wrist and back problems going back to ama wera and afm roadracing days. Back is big challenge as i have bone to bone and various other issues. Well enough of that... I was hoping to find the stock dimensions on line of the OEM bars but unable and i am not near the bike for a few days. Thanks in advance if anyone can help
