Has anyone else noticed that the 2011 first batch of bikes have slightly different forks to the current bikes available? The forks my 011 model which I've had a couple of months are visually Identical to my 010 bike, have now seen some bikes a month newer which have a different damping adjuster top and different fork bottoms? Does this mean I've got last years forks due to the fork supply shortage?

So, I have a Beta Techno '99 that I just picked up off eBay, and its lovely .. apart from one thing .. it doesn't rev out. Its running really rich at the top end, but pulls like a train low down. bags of grunt. I think its been run very oily, probably about 50:1 by the look of it, but that wont affect the mixture, but at least the blue smoke should clear up as the new mix works its way through. The top end almost feels like the choke is on its that bad, not at all crisp. It's got a 150 main jet, is that about right? I notice the jet sizes sold as spares in the Beta dealers go from 120 to 150, so that suggests its on the rich side. Thoughts? I suppose with bags of g…

My newly purchased 07 250 has the dreaded water pump/clutch cover problem! I've ordered the bits and they'll be here tomos My question is....Which way round should the blue seal fit behind the impellor? To keep the water out of the oil(Spring in seal facing impellor) Or to keep the oil out of the water(Spring in seal facing gearbox) Mine is currently fitted so the spring is facing the impellor? I presume it is fitted this way as there will be more pressure coolant side than gearbox side? Cheers Andrew.

  5. I had the stator rewound by west country windings, so i hope that that is fine, I put it all together and i only get an occasional spark when i press and release the kill button. nobody seems to know why. Tested and replaced wiring, earths etc etc etc 10 times, so i might have just have a bad CDi, Only way to know is to try a good un' and see if she runs. ??? Tried everything else. I can collect anywhere 50 miles from london and will return plus several tins of beer in the same week. Would just buy a second had one, and keep it for a spare if the price was ok, but there are none about at the moment, and i need to get riding...

Just got a 2012 Evo, which is a great bike, but has a really annoying stand. It just won't stay tight. When I had a look at it it had helicoil inserts that had loosened with the bolt. Tried re doing the thread repair and re asembling with new bolts and loctite but it's come loose again. Is this a common problem with the model and if so what's the best fix? Anyone tried drilling right through the swinging arm and putting long bots through from the top with nuts underneath? Other idea was going up to m10. Also should the bracket have a pad that fills the gap to the underside of the swinging arm? Any ideas much appreciated.

Curious why it's so much more than a leonelli/jitsie/apico equivalent? Does it come with correct connections already on? I'm guessing the other offerings you have to cut into the existing kill switch wires?

After poor running I found the carb to be missing what I believe to have been a blanking cap, but can anyone confirm it is just a blanking cap or is it something more technical? With it missing I think it would of made the bike run lean due to the open end delivering unfiltered air directly into the slide area of the carb!

Does it take long to "break in" the forks on a new bike? I have a 2014 Factory 300 with a several hours on it now but the forks feel much stiffer than my old Rev 3. I would like it absorb impacts better. Looking at the specs, it uses the same fork spring as the 125 but the 125 uses 5 mm lower oil levels. Does that really make much difference? Is a softer spring available? My Rev 3 started life as a 200 and I see that that some fork part numbers are different between the 125/200 and 250/270 (2008) although the spring is the same.

Greetings from sunny Queensland. I have a little dilema that I wonder if someone else has noticed. My sons and I have 2005 models about 2 months old. At our last trial my 250 started leaking oil from the clutch housing gasket just above the kick stater. There was traces of coolant in the oil so I thought "that'll be the water pump seal that has caused all that". Shouldn't be a problem to fix. When I got home I drained the oil and left it. In the meantime my sons had a practice day. When we got home I walked past the Rev80 and notice that the oil in the sight glass was milky. Probably the same cause? So I have taken both bikes apart - they both had identical water pump…

Having ironed out all the other problems on my new-to-me 2014 Evo 250, my one remaining issue is clutch drag. I dropped the oil level to the bottom of the window and did the “Beta clutch fix”. No change. On closer inspection of the master cyl and lever, I realised that the clutch frees off if pulled in hard against the grip, but under normal riding my middle finger is trapped under the ball-end and stops the lever travelling that far. The lever is adjusted to have less than 1mm free play at the pushrod. However the rod inside the master cylinder moves about 3mm before the load becomes significant, presumably because it has to move that far before it starts pushing ag…

A very small thing but it's bugged me for ages: I see a lot of Rev3s with "Dunlop" stickers between the upper and lower fork clamps. Most 06 bikes and all 07s (that I've seen) have them. My own 06 (bought new) doesn't and came with Michelin tyres. Does the Dunlop sticker mean something? Just wonderin'

I've got an 05 Beta 125 and had this problem for as long as I've had the bike pretty much. The exhaust is always getting bunged up with that nasty black gooey oil and it's leaking where the front pipe and the expansion chamber connects. It makes the bike look a mess and is a b**ch to clean off and I was wondering if there was any way I can stop this from happening? Is it to do with my oil mixture in the fuel? Could it be the mixture screw? I'm going to clean all the oil off the bike soon and silicone seal the part where the oil is leaking from so it won't go all over my bike. Once the bike has warmed up though it runs fine so it's not decreasing performance? Any help woul…

My rear brake lever suddenly started rubbing on the chain. There was left to right movement on the lever so I changed the bearing and the bush/nut. I refitted the lever but it still had play on it and touched the chain. I was wondering if I was missing a shim on the bush? Any suggestions???
