Hello I need buy a news shocks for my tl? which manufacturer recommendation : njb, magicals, hagon?

Before I get the hacksaw out does anyone have a diagram showing the location of the baffle plates on a 320 ? Have pushed a long screw driver through from where the silencer joins the middle box but cant find anything. The box has been previously welded and im wondering if one or both of the plates has been removed. The baffle tube is still present at the entry point. There is somthing in there rattling as you can hear it when the engine is running but shaking the box it doesn't rattle ?

Hi All, Just been out for a spin on my TL 320 and when loading the bike up in second on decent banks there was a slight clunk - like a quieter version of the a chain jumping the sprocket. 1st was Ok and bike is shifting smoothly etc. I have had the clutch apart recently to change springs and was wondering if the clutch basket nut may have come loose. Would it have those symptoms if this was the case or could the dogs on the gears have worn slightly in second? Any help appreciated.

Currently using a slow action throttle on mine AND lower gearing than standard.....and she is quite a tame old thing at the moment. For ref' Domino use a black throttle tube for slow and white tube for quick.

Hi guys, I thought you might like to see my latest SWM project. It started as a pretty nice 1981 TL230 but never one to just have a standard bike I decided to set out on a project to use the standard bike as the basis for something a little different. The frame was first and I decided (with the help of Rob Homer) to remove the top frame tube and the seat rails and make a tank as part of the frame with tubes welded inside to route the cables. The seat rails were replaced with straight tubes so that the new seat and side panels would sit flat and also form the top of the airbox (this dropped the seat height by about 3 inches). Hi all,new to this site and hope somebody can help. have a 1981/82 swm 240 whose spark keeps disappearing,have done the usual points condenser and stator coil behind flywheel,ignition coil and all associated wiring replaced with new items. the engine has had a few mods ported ,bored to 280cc barrel jacked and squish band altered to suit.flywheel skimmed as well so i am wondering if this is where the problem lies, if it is loosing its magnetism. has any one else had this problem? noted somebody has fitted an electronic ignition system to there swm(in this forum)does anybody have any more info on this?? also is the aprilia climber rotax engine electronic ignition…

Well, Speedy has gone off to pastures new. I'd like to thank all on here whom have helped in the past when I've had queries or needed helped, when I was but a rookie SWM owner and not the Uber Anorak Owner I later became. Martin at Moto SWM needs thanking too, like Dave at BikeTech GasGas it's great when someones business is also their passion. Honestly getting parts was far easier than for my late Yamaha WRF's I've owned....chatting with some bored and spotty 16 year, who grunts when distracted from the smartphone is not a fantastic experience I'd like to share. cheers guys, all the best

1980 320TL std: Typical having a great trial yesterday dropping but 4 on two rounds and on the 1st section of the last lap, just entering the section bike stops dead, as if I'd pulled the lanyard off....she had lost her spark After the lunchbreak when I started her she was running a bit rough, almost 4 stroking, turned her off, restarted and she was fine. Also the last few times I've jet washed her down she ran a little rough until I WD-40'd the ht lead...hmmm that was going thru my head as I started sweated cobs kicking her over. Ok chaps, Just about to split my 1982 TL 320 for the first time, plenty of experience of Spanish twinshocks but not Rotax motors. So rather than just go at it I thought I'd canvas opinion about what to watch out for and basics, i.e. which case to leave the box in, etc, etc. Thanks all.

Hello peeps, Wondering who's got some knowledge to share... took apart the forks to change seals and fill on my new to me and new to be running again SWM 320 first off one tube had the white end bit inside and the other had it outside (see pic) I assume they should both be inside after looking and seeing damage on the white plastic end bit (may still work) Not sure if it was assebled wrong or slipped past the snap ring somehow. next I noticed the springs are not the same length..... does anyone know how I should proceed? thanks lots Tarik

What's considered to be a good compromise angle for steering angle ? Currently about 23 degrees. Thanks

I understand that on the later Jumbo's the steering head was steeper. Can anyone tell me how much steeper this was than the earlier frames and also how close was this to the current modern bikes? Thanks

Hey Guys any tips what to do with a sticky clutch. It sticks a while from cold but thats not the problem as others do this as well. The problem is that when warmed up after pulling the clutch in it takes about 5 seconds before it disengages. This is also when starting off you have to wait about 5 seconds before engaging 1st. gear. For practice riding its okay but if it was to be used in a trial this would be difficult.

Hi guys Hope someone can help us out with our newly acquired Speedy TL 320. There's a bolt plus a hex stud and after loosening said nut a little it seems not to want to tighten back in. The oil has been drained through hex stud and any recommendations for best oil and correct amount would also be appreciated. Photos below and thanks very much in anticipation for any info Cheers Zeb
