My bike is sounding lean at about 2/3 and up throttle. (It almost sounds like detonation.) I’m running an OKO 26mm carb, 48 pilot and 115 main, needle clip in the second notch from the top. The main is one size bigger than required. I don’t think it’s a carb problem anymore. I checked my timing and it’s right on. I checked my pipe and it appears clear and the muffler is a new Wes. I’m running the stock champion plug. Any ideas or suggestions?

Just spent out some of my hard earned dosh on a new carb. After replacing all the internals on my old one and it still not wanting to tick over bit the bullet and contacted Dellorto UK. Gave them bike details as they requested, received carb, all bar the pilot are correct. They have fitted a 48 not a 44. After an email to them and them checking there info a second time they are insistent that the pilot on a 200 Fantic 156cc should be a 48. What do you think?

Hi everybody, My name is Bernie and i'm from Holland. Last week i've purchased my '84 Fantic 300 Pro (the Michaud replica) Last monday i fired it up at the previous owner and it worked allright. This week i serviced the bike (did nothing to the electrical) and today i tried to fire it up; no result. The problem is; i don't get any spark! The bobine is an Mitsuba 3390 from Italy. Does anybody know what the problem could be? Greetz....Bernie

Picked up a great running '93 Fantic KeyRoo 212. Runs great but I questioned how it was set up after I got it home. I noticed a tube running from the top of the tranny to the top of the carb. Upon further thought, I pulled the plug and noticed how black it was (running rich). Then I saw how milky the oil was in the sight glass on the tranny. Obviously the previous owner didn't know what they were doing. So I got this part rectified. My question is, does anyone have a manual? Or a link to download? I need to know how much oil to add to the tranny - half way up the sight glass? I will do a flush with some full synthetic 5w30, run it, flush it, and run it again. Oil/fuel mix…

Put some new fork seals in the Fantic 200 t/s. Have they got as std some tube/ spacer above the spring?? I have some 4" pieces in mine, fitted the seals, 2 in ea leg ??(this may not help??) and 200cc of 10 grade oil. They seem a little stiff now, may be okay after a trial but may have had spacers due to springs being worn ?? What have others found in their forks when stripped ?? Thanks..

I want to try softening off the front forks of my 200. Unfortunately the manual doesn't go beyond telling me how to change the fork oil and I can't find a drawing of the forks anywhere. Can anyone enlighten me so I don't get any surprises when I open it all up? Are standard springs identified in any way? Are alternative spring rates available? Is the preload adustable? If so, what is recommended? What weight of oil is recommended? Should there be an air gap above the oil, and how much? Thanks in advance.

Hello I have a 1991 Fantic 309 which had the throttle stuck open during a crash, when i finaly got it to stop it wouldnt start again. After many hours of trying i deceided to take it to bits and find out what was wrong, I found that it had snapped a piston ring, scrapped the cylinder and wrecked the piston. I had the barrel re-bored and plated and purchased a replacement piston. After re-building the engine and fitting it back into the bike it was finaly time to see if it would run, To my supprise it did second kick and away we went, But !!!!! it runs like a three legged dog. It wont idle correctly picking up revs on its own untill you have to switch it off. won't settl…

Could anyone give me some information about a 95 Fantic 247 / Strengths / weaknesses ? If you were looking at buying a 247, what sort of things should you look for / check out ? What would be a fair price for a really clean 247 ? thanks, Tony P

Got a 305 rim laced to my 240 hub.gotta tension and true it up yet. had to shift the long spokes over one hole in the hub due to the rim being drilled opposite as far as the valve stem hole position. Same length spokes as stock rim. Rim strip and valve stem from Mike. Cracked the original rim due to jumping up on rocks and smacking it where it was already dented ebay wheel was actually fairly straight good enough to be worth lacing up. Will replace the front rim later as it's beat to hell too. Unfortunately I'll miss the first trial of the season this coming weekend, gotta trail building session tomorrow night(I've got about eight sections built at a friends pro…

Hi guys, I have a recently bought a Fantic 240 which is coming as a few boxes of parts. I have a few questions which I hope all the Fantic nuts here can help my with. Does anyone know the rim offset for the front and rear wheels? The bike is coming with rims/hubs disassembled. Can anyone recommend a period carb, and settings? I cannot run an OKO as it will be ineligible for our national Twinshock class. Has anyone tried a Mikuni VM26? If so, do you have setup specs? If I can get hold of a 200 top clamp, does it bolt straight on? Any mods required? Thanks in advance guys, Cheers, Ben

Ok you Fantic nuts, I have a question for those knowledgeable about the 96 and 97 Section models. I have fancied finding one in good nick for some time and now have found two really nice ones. One's a 96 and the other a 97. I am more familiar with the 96 and never really saw a 97. Pro's and cons anyone. Please offer your opinion as well Fanticisti! cheers, Steve

I'm new to trials and am looking for a "starter" bike. A dealer who specializes in Trials bikes has a 1990 Fantic 250. Price is @ $1500US. He backs all his used bikes and rates this one as "7.75 Mechanical". I'm inclined to purchase from a dealer - especially a one specializing in trials bikes - rather than from an individual. How does this model stack up as a decent starter bike? What about parts availability? Any "issues" to watch for? The dealer thought that given my budget, size (big), and trials experience (zero!), he thought this bike would be a good one to choose. Comments?

We have just bought a 200 Fantic, seems really fluffy of the bottom end. Cleaned the carb and upped the needle but it didnt really make any difference. Probably all worn so am quite happy to replace but what is the best carb and jetting to go for ? Also does anyone know haw to age the bike from the frame / engine number and is there anyone in the UK that will write a letter to the DVLA to help get an age related plate ? Thanks
