Hearty Absquatulations Fellow Triallers Just wondering if anyone out there in trials land has suffered (and more importantly) recovered from a broken scaphoid (thats the wrist bone to us laypersons). I have just broken mine in a freak mountainbiking accident, and will have to get it pinned back together. The doc says at least 12 weeks before any form of riding, about two weeks after the big competition I have been training for. (At least I'll save on fuel) Does anyone have any experience with this operation, will I be able to ride properly again, have full use of my wrist etc. Also are there any exercises that can help my recovery (keep it clean!). Regaining confidence …

Hi all i am really new to trials and was just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to do slow wheelies standing up. Another thing was hopping around, i can lift the front a little bit but can't move it from side to side, i suppose that is to do with balance aswell i don't know. I also need some tips on how to position myself better when turning really tight. sorry for the questions, cheers Bradley.

Hi all. As the title says..... Sometimes my clutch finger locks out straight. Which at the top of a big blast up a hill can be a problem, resulting in some unsightly mess sometimes. Does this happen to anybody else? What the f... am I doing wrong?

This new forum is a great idea. Thanks! If any of the mods have the time and inclination it would be really handy if they could trawl through the forums and move some of the existing relevant threads here to get things going. It may even be possible to add new moderators whose only extra power is to move threads (handy when you add a new forum, and also for general housekeeping!). Just a thought!

Out riding today getting a new set of bars adjusted properly and i began to notice while performing nose wheelies as well as other simple techniques that the mussels on the palm side of my thumbs were beginning to be really sore with out a lot of riding or hard effort being used for what i was doing. I have been wanting to build up some strength in my hands in general. What can i do?

I had 4 dogturds together in a big split (too big a needle for the original dogturds). A gentle ride and they blew out followed by all the slime. Do you think I can get a big patch welded to the inside or is it time for a new tyre?

  13. Which of the two do you use when making tight turns, figure 8 etc?. When riding on road bikes, I have been always using rear brake only when making slow speed turns, u turns, etc, in order to prevent losing balance if front brake is applied to abruptly. Is it the same with trial bike?

  15. Bike : Sherco 290 2009 Is there a certain way to set up your suspension , so as that hopping on the rear wheel is easier. When i watch videos of people hopping on the rear wheel their rear shock seems to bottom out when they land. As if they have a high damper setting. I had by bike on the stock settings which is 2 clicks out on the rear damper and 2 clicks out on the front forks damper then a flush red cap on the rebound. This setting seemed a bit springy for hopping plus the rear shock would not compress that much. Is there a happy median setting for the suspension, so as the bike is good for all round use? but will still let you hop? Thanks!

Just sharing something that has helped me incredibly much over roughly the past year. I'm just a happy user. Neil Price is an Australian Expert level rider, 18 times West Aust. champion, 2x Aust Champ, has competed in Europe and World rounds and all round nice fella. He has been coaching trials for decades and is a real thinker - always considering the detail that makes things work. A year or so ago Neil started a Facebook online coaching group which proved the concept had wings. Six months ago (+/-) he launched a dedicated online platform - quite similar to most social media platforms - Feed, Chat, Likes, Comments, Notifications, Hashtags etc. but also "groups"…

  20. I like this chap, but as this is an English language site have not shared with everyone my "find". However this has English subtitles and I found it very informative with the slo' mo' and breaking up into sections. It's better to watch without the subtitles as they obscure some of the vid. so you can re-run bits without the subtitles switched on as an option. Or brush up your French ?
