I read somewhere that Gasgas models 2010 and newer already have a two piece head. Does that mean I can just buy a low compression insert without buying an S3 head? Does GasGas make a factory option or is it just aftermarket? Will an S3 low comprehension insert work with my factory head? Thanks.

Hi, i just bought a Gas Gas TXT pro 300 raga. It has been a bitch to start since i got it with me really having to jump on it to get the thing turned over. The worrying is though i drained the gear oil the other day and found 3 or 4 shards of metal attached to the magnet. These were not the normal filings found but bigger pieces maybe 3mm x 1mm the biggest one. Im hoping that it maybe just of the kickstart (pawl gear maybe) mechanism wearing from all all the abuse it gets from me trying to start it. But im no mechanic, can someone advise what to do or do i have a major problem. I will be draining the fresh oil in the next few days to see if there is anymore **** in …

Hi all bad day for me went to my local quarry today all fine then my engine started knocking and losing power on full throttle so brought it home. Took barrell off piston absolutly fine, barrell fine. Noticed piston rings are worn (will this cause more side to side movement) Took piston off and when i removed top end needle bearing all pins fell out of casing lookely i had placed a rag around the con rod Will these parts be causing the engine knock or slap? Also i replaced the original nahl piston with a s3 piston kit about 3 months ago. but it never come with a new bearing will i need a s3 bearing or does this not matter

I got my first trials bike. It is a 2020 Gas Gas TXT250. The bike seems great except when shifting from 4th gear to 5th gear. There is a bad gear grinding noise every time I shift from 4th to 5th unless the RPM's are extremely low. Like 25% of normal. I know gears 1-4 are low ratio and gears 4-5 are high ratio so the jump between 4th and 5th is a big step. It seems that you would want to be able to shift out of 4th at a higher (or mid) RPM to make the jump to 5th easier. I need to be lugging down in 4th to be able to shift into 5th without getting the grinding noise. Is this normal? The dealer is telling me that it is normal. Thanks, Steve

My woodruff key sheared a couple weeks back and I put a fresh one in a couple days ago, Tried to start it and it wasn’t having any of it, checked fuel supply and spark and they were both fine... cleaned the carb just in case. It very occasionally backfires when kicking it over. I can’t think what it is. I’m not sure what I’m looking for when it comes to the stator (good or bad) but I presume it’s okay as I have nice strong blue spark. I’ve got some pics so you can tell me if there’s anything wrong, cheers

Hate to join a new forum and make my first post a problem one, but that's the way the cookie has crumbled. I come from the beautiful country of Croatia, where, bar one Ossa and another GasGas owner, trials is as a foreign word as Okonomiyaki. I really enjoy it and love these bikes, but mine is being a stubborn idiot at the moment. So this is my story. Bought the bike in '12, rode it carefree for a few summers and then stopped using it for a year while I changed jobs and moved house. Got it to the new house last July, rode it once and then during one ride it just cut out and died. Bike had no spark, I tried all the usual things but in the end I had to order a new CDI.…

I'm sorry for asking but I'm a bit lost and usual methods of getting answers aren't working... I've recently bought a heap of a 2001 250 TXT (eBay, and yes, I should've walked away) and last week removed the cracked, nasty rear tyre. I couldn't get the bead off on one side so ended up cutting it off. It was a Barum tyre with innertube, but I thought it odd no rim lock? So question 1- In 2001 did the TXT have tube front & tubeless rear? Question 2- the rim is nasty and corroded inside. Could this be a reason for running a tube (because it wasn't sealing well?) Question 3- if it's a tubeless rim but I choose to run a tube, is i…

There is one for sale near me. Are (or were?) they any good? Any known weak points? I'm a novice rider that's been riding twinshock bikes (TY, KT and Cota) looking for something to play on in "modern trials" on the easy route. Cheers

Hello, literally only just joined the forum after owning my gasgas for a few weeks. It needed a gearbox oil change so I removed the sump plug and other bolt at the top where you refill the oil, and let all the dirty grey oil drain away, i cleaned off the swarf from the sump plug and replaced before refilling with approx 400ml of oil. (I didnt measure it, just waited until the window was full as some of the other threads suggest) However this has created a problem with my clutch. Once the bike is started, pull the clutch in, engage 1st or 2nd gear and the bike stalls, the clutch is clearly not disengaging as it should. Previously it was fine, separated cleanly from hot …

over the past 18months of owning a gas gas every time i remove the airbox becomes a struggle to get the damn thing back on, the reason being is the rubber ring around the carb to the airbox, it doesnt seem to be long enough, ive rang gas gas and they said they have never changed the design! the only way i can get it to sit on is by placing the rubber ring inside the airbox tube half way on a slight angle, then put the carb into the recess in the bung, but once i start to tighten a jubilee clip around it the ring starts to come away from the airbox tube! to even get as far as the above i need to slacken off the manifold on the other end of the carb and have that not sit…

Hi all. I have a '99 txt 200 and a friend has a 321 of the same year. Currently I am using putoline light gear oil but we can get hold of ATF easily and cheap so was thinking of switching to this. I have done a search put keep finding conflicting information on weather it's best to use ATF. If anyone can advise on the best oil to use it would be appreciated, and if it is ATF is dextron || or dextron ||| the one to go for. Thanks for any Help.

Just bought a used GG TXT 300 Pro 2005 this week and when driving for the first few times, starting needs minimum 8 kicks while cold and 4 kicks when warm . I have replaced the spark plug, but no improvement. I have found the advice with the gap between flywheel and pick-up in this forum. Does anyone have a recommended gap between these parts? Are there any other useful advices to consider? Greetings from Austria! Flydiamond

The clutch on my 2000 TXT 280 is a real pain. Sure a little drag is fine, but this is too much, it stalls all the time and will not (at all) go into neutral. The hydraulics have all been rebuilt and bled. Its solid as a rock. I even worked on smoothing out the clucth basket. I pulled the plates and they are all within spec. What else can I do? (besides buy another bike). thanks
