Have managed to find the services of an excellent passenger and a place to practice. After a few sessions we have managed to gain some control so at least we can now make it go in a straight line. Still looking for some events to compete in.

Hi Have just managed to break my collar bone falling off my outfit. Was on a bike high camber and the outfit flipped, and rolled down the hill. I was thrown off and the bike landed on me on it's first roll. Clearly I need to improve my technique! I have seen photos of people riding across a camber with the sidecar wheel off the ground. However. I have not been able to replicate this. Can anyone advise? Stu

Wow! took place in my first chair event a few weeks ago. Whilst waiting for my chair to be fitted to my Beamish, someone else in the club had fitted one to a TY Pinky. Neither of us had ridden sidecar before and the start was not clever or pretty but the more we rode, the more we improved and at the end I was hooked, so much that I am not sure if I want to ride or go in the chair (which was where I ended up) !!! The fact that two people now have outfits has resulted in the club having a white route sidecar class for next year where the venue suits it and we hope that more people will come on board... So a quick question? Wha'ts the scoring? When does the passengers beha…

Hello, My first post so please be gentle! I have a Montesa 315 in great shape and am considering having a go at sidecar trials after my new girlfriend said she would rather compete together than stand watching me go solo!! We live in North East Scotland and I cannot find a club that runs a sidecar trial -- any ideas please or even if a club allows some practise with chairs. If there is a yes answer, I then need the chair...... Gary.

Hi Guys and Girls, how about some talk about your chair setups, and any Eureka moments you've had or techniques to share. Lots of solo techniques available on line and in print but I've yet to see no sidecar technique vids or found any technique advise, how about we share our positive and negative experiences on this forum. Setup: What do you find is the best set up for the chair suspension? on a solo the front and rear should compress equally when you push down on the pegs whats ideal for chair? We have only 10-15 chairs that's regularly compete in Aus and their suspension are set up from super soft to super hard there is defiantly no one size fits all. …

I have taken the brave/foolish/mad (delete where applicable)decision to purchase a sidecar off of ebay to pair with a Montesa 348. Having ridden schoolboy twinshocks in the 80's, mono more recently and then moving back to twin shocks I suddenly had the urge to give sidecars a go.... I am wondering if the sidecar enthusiast's can help with the following: 1) What are the common mounting points for the chair to the bike and how should I approach a Montesa 348 2) For a newbie what are the basics and how would you build up the practice ? any help appreciated Rob

  15. Hi Guys , We would like a few, if possible, Trials outfit's used in the sixties, to come along to the Classic Trials Show, to go on show, or the owner could even ride it in the Sidecar class if they wish, there would be a prize for a bike that was built and used in the Sixties. One with a Kendall chair would be good , or a BKS. If you have a mate who owns one let me know. Thank's Regards Charlie.

The Eboracum Motorcycle Club of York is holding a two day charity trial on the 17 and 18 April. For the first time in many years the event will include a sidecar class. I will be there on my JCM outfit for it's first competitive outing. Would be great to have some competition so we can judge just how poor we are! Details of the event here - https://www.acu.org.uk/events/April-2021/Eboracum-MCC-of-York/Trials/Moor-Farm-Ouseburn-ACU60240.aspx For those who don't have an ACU trials licence, one day licences are available. Message me if you need any more information. All proceeds go to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Hi Guy's Well My brother has decided to fit a trials sidecar to the Ariel HS frame we have. To replicate the outfit that I used to passenger. My task in the operation is to build the chair. Have looked up all the sidecar dimensions In the ACU hand book and have used them as a guide to the build using the minimum measurements ,But trying to keep it looking like a Kendall as much as possible. Well it is to be named "Spirit Of 65". Well to stop rambling, What I need to know is the amount of sidecar wheel lead from the bikes rear spindle, that you boy's are using now- a- days , as it is a long time since I last built a chair, and my memory does not go back that far. Hope…
