The nipples in my Alpina are eaten away . can anyone tell me the thread size of the spokes ? I measure them at 3.37 mm dia , which corresponds with nothing I can find .

hi all ive just got aoungher sherpa 199A. its got the alloy tank witch is not to bad but it as a slight spit on the top off the tank were would the bet place to get it fixed in the northwest

hi all i have a alloy tank on one of my bultacos im thinking about having it powder coated the paint thats on now has bubeld were the exhaust gose under the tank any addvice?

Is modern fuel OK in an alloy tank, I know there are issues with ethanol and was wondering if I'll need to coat the inside with flowliner or something similar. Appreciate any info cheers

Just finished rebuild of M49 Sherpa and the fibreglass tank is going to have to be lined to use, has anybody got any suggestions for an alloy option? There is one on auction at the moment but just looking for alternatives. cheers

Hi . Just got a 116 Alpina project . Some of the missing parts are seat , elephants foot silencer and airbox /filter . looking for parts . Also advice on the fuel tank , I don’t know if it leaks but the rough inside finish and petriol soaked interior means it can’t be sealed inside against modern fuel ,any suggestions ? i’m in Scotland so UK solutions would be appreciated Lee

Hey Guy's,I have a 138 I have been sorting out and I am not sure if I have the correct brake light switch? When I apply the brake pedal it extends the switch pin and opens the circuit so when your foot it not on the brake pedal the switch is compressed and the circuit is closed,does that make sense?

I have had my Alpina 138 since new and for my first retirement project I am going to refurbish it. Would like to put an electronic ignition with lighting coil and hopefully use the stock flywheel. What would be your recommendations for such a unit? Reliable and easy install would be nice. Thanks, Mark

Looked over for some info about turning a Model 212 into a trials bike. Judging by catalog photos, the frames look very similar. Are the triples different? Other than the tank/seat, and guessing the motor, any major differences? Want to turn this into a slow bike, but if it's too much work, will leave it a trail bike. Thanks for any info/help you can provide!

Hi all I need to replace the rear shocks, I’m staying with Betor for originality but their website lists black springs for the 213, but the originals were chrome. They do list others for earlier Alpinas with chrome springs with the correct length and mounting size, but will they fit? I have tried their customer service but no help. Inmotion list the same shock for all Alpina models soI guess I should be OK…

Hey, new here. I just picked up a model 85 Alpina 250 and found out the piston was a 76mm. Anybody ever seen this? Seems like a huge jump from 72mm. The piston was cracked when I got it. Anybody know where I can get another one? thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm going to wire my bike but very confused with the wiring diagrams in the manuals as they all look slightly different! I have three wires coming out of the engine; green, yellow and black, many of the diagrams show four wires, so what's correct? Has anyone a definitive diagram or has re-wired a M85. Hi, ive read lots of posts and got lots of useful imformation over the last few years on this site, but this is my first post. Im restoring an aplina 85 and i saw an aluminium tank on a certain auction site. It comes from a company called enfield county in india. Has anyone had any dealings with them and are their tanks any good. Any imformation would be appreciated. Thanks.

I’ve found a couple of old threads on wiring but they don’t fully address my problem... I have an Alpina 213 but the brake and tail lights aren’t working. The bike has been retired (badly) at some point and the resistor is now missing, and they are apparently unobtainable, it also has a brake light switch with normally closed contacts. I’ve had one suggestion which is to fit an LED bulb as they’re more tolerant of fluctuations in voltage, though that would need a normally open brake light switch. I know these are available but I’d like to keep to the original style and position, and am yet to find one suitable. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to …

I'm putting together the clutch basket on a '75 Alpina 350 (model 138). I am cross referencing two documents. The Hugh's Bultaco 5 Speed Bultaco Service Manual and the factory Bultaco Parts List Catalogue. None indicate the amount of plates I am supposed to install in the clutch basket (tabbed on OD and non-tabbed). I currently have 6 tabbed plates and 7 non-tabbed plates. Is that too many? What is indicating this concern is the Hugh's Service Manual. The manual shoes 4 tabbed and 4 non tabbed. *help* There are also two conflicting diagrams which show two different assemblies. One shows that the first plate to go in the basket is a non-tabbed and another schematic demo…

I am having difficulties getting the cluch to properly respond to the clutch lever. Long Winded explination, please bear with me: Clutch lever will not disengage cluch plates. If I pull on the lever, the bike stays in gear, cannot push bike. I tried to adjust the adjustment screw and nut. What I was able to get was enough preload on the clutch diaphram to be able to pull the lever to disengage the cluch plates (only slightly) but when I went to install the adjustment screw nut, there was no thread left on adjustment screw to allow the nut to be fitted on the screw. I'm thinking this would not be acceptable as this would indicate that there is too much pre-load on clutch…

Do most Alpina Model 85 riders use the stock electrical system or toss it for a total loss battery system?

Having a hard time getting the float valve to function on my Model 85. My bike uses a 27mm Amal Concentric. The float and float needle look healthy and the seat looks clean, but fuel gushes into the intake duct and also out the tickler port. I can hear nothing when I shake the plastic float, and there are no pronounced "steps" in the float needle. Can someone suggest other things I can check? Anyone run into this before?

Alpina flywheel Hi everyone Has anyone had they're motoplat flywheel remagnetized,I've had the stator checked and alls fine,so it points to the flywheel, I've tried villiers spares,they can't tell the poles on the magnets,any help much appreciated cheers andy

Does anyone know about how the gas tank mounts on a 71 Alpina. Specifically the end of the tank where the side panels are joined to the tank. My tank has some stress fractures in that area causing it to leak. Before I remount the tank I need to know exactly how it should mount. On my bike and what i suspect is the cause of the stress... the air box was not fully resting down in the cavity between the frame tubing. It was sticking up about a half an inch. I think the tank was partially resting on the airbox, and not fully seated on the frame, causing it to seat at a slight angle. I think this may have stressed the tank. I have since fitted the airbox so that it now is belo…
