i have had a case today of my back tyre coming off the rim, thoutht it was a puncture but after taking the tyre off cleaning everything and refitting it i cant find owt wrong with it, just wondered if i am running it a bit on the low side 4.5psi. jsp

Any advice appreciated. A friend of mine bought this bike to start trials and I agreed to sort it for him. It needs a few obvious jobs doing and it'll have a stripdown and general overhaul but is there anything that those 'in the know' can tell me about this bike - quirks, upgrades etc. Thanks in advance. Hey Guys: At last - after a few weeks of searching I've at last found myself a good 315r (for a while there I nearly went down the Rev-3 route!!)... Anyways - I've been searching through this forum to find out what I should be doing to the bike set-up wise...and it seems there are a few things worth doing....but, I can't figure out whether some of the mods are only applicable to newer model bikes.... Can anybody help out with the following: Sureflex clutch plates (will a 2004 need them?) Boysen Reeds ? 42 - 11 gearing ratio Delta linkage plates Straight through exhaust silencer? I need your help everyone. My 4rt has recently started to make a rumbly ticking noise from the clutch. I cant remember whether it goes away if you or pull in or release the clutch but it is there all the time. I dont know if is connected but recently I have noticed that it does not change gear easily until the engine has been run for a while and everything is hot which has never been an issue in the past. I have replaced the oils (repsol 4t & lub htx) so I dont think it that. Is it possible that I just need a new clutch or is it something more sinister?? Thanks in advance monty fans

hi all,am currently riding a mint condition 06 beta 270 and want to go 4stroke some time soon and was woundering realy what sort of valve my bike wud bring and what sort of valve i could get a 05 montesa 4rt for????any help would be good thanks

Today my 4rt would only select 1st gear and neutral in mid trial.When i got back to the pits i tried to adjust the clutch but made no difference,and is now stuck in 1st.The gear lever moves up and down no problem.Does anyone have any advice?The bike is only three months old.

Has anyone got any of the maps that is compatable with the 2 stage throttle body as the standard maps are not compatable. If so any chance you could email me?

I have Montesa Cota 311. Went to change transmission oil and cannot find the drain plug. Removing case bolt (like I do on my 315R) has no effect (no oil comes out). Any suggestions gratefully accepted. Thanks

The factory Montesa repsol colour for wheel rims is a light orange. Has anybody had the correct colour applied ?, as the repsol colour with companies in the uk advertising wheel anodising and powder coating looks like a dayglow orange. Has anyone given a powder coater a Ral No referance ?

Hi all, the right hand side engine case on my 2000 Montesa is pretty scratched, so i thought id take it off and polish it, i asked a mate and he told me that this side should not have any oil behind it as it was the oppisite side to the clutch (i myself know nothing about motorbikes) however when i started to take the casing off oil started to drip from behind it, now having been told there was no oil nehind this side i imediatly tightened the case back up, can anyone tell me A) If this is normal and im being stupid. OR B ) Whats f*cked? Any help would be great, Ta, A very worried Jonno....

How are you lot that fitted the fat bar conversion to you 4rt's getting on good points?? bad points?? worth the money??

I have heard many reports that 4rt's like a reasonable diet of spark plugs every 15 - 20 hrs ! I have never heard of such a phenomina ! Who should be ashamed Honda or NGK , or is there a different brand ie nippon denso or an iridium style plug that you set and forget like a BSA bantam or a 06' trials bike of any other brand . Love the bike but baffled with the plug eating thingy !!!!!!

After a few attempts at getting up a snotty climb, having my bike on its side more often that not it decided to die on me. No attempt at kicking it off would start it. Took the plug out no spark, tried a new plug no spark. After a while a realised the throttle seemed to have far too much play on it. Tomorrow night I'm going to have a look at the throttle body and where the throttle cable fits, but thought first I'd see if anyone anyone could point me in the right direction. The bikes a Repsol. i have recently bought a new irc tyre and i am very impressed with it it is so grippy but i am not sure why? it seems to flick alot more of the mud off or is it just the compound i have also seen that the walls are stiffer could this help it?

I need to change the pads on the front of my 4rt an the 2 bolts holding the caliper in place will not come out ....seized, and the allen heads are now pretty stripped. I have read that this is a common problem and I am sure I have seen some replacement bolts made of titanium or something. Can anyone help??

has any one got any thoughts on mods for the 05 clutch i am having problems finding netural and also starting in gear has become nearly impossible. i have spoke to sandifords an it seems that the 06 clutch has just one modified set of plates in it, but just wondering what any one else has done (ie mitini plates, 06 plates, 315 master cylinder) and the results they got. cheers jsp

Can anyone tell me the pro's and con's? I'm going to upgrade would like a 4rt but what's the service costs? ie: oil filter? fuel filter(if its got one) i'm also looking at a 315 (2004) so what's the differance for routine maintanance? Any help or advice would be great cheers

Hi all, im looking at buying a Montesa 315R 2000 model, but i was wondering if anyone knew how heavy it is. i ride a 1999 Beta techno at present which is about 80kgs, so anyone know the weight of the montesa? any help would be great. cheers Jonno
