Newbie to this forum looking for help thinking of buying 4ride for casual green laning. reviews tell of the gear selector being a long way from the footrest but that there is a gear selector you can get to bring it back to the 'normal riding position' is this true and will it be in a position like any other trail bike? and is it expensive thanks in advance

help please. have just had my 1st serious outing on my 4rt after changing from a rev 3 beta. overall the bike was excellent loads of grunt as expected and would climb anything i pointed it at. the only issue i seemed to have was that the front end was far more difficult to get on line when going downhill and was prone to loosing grip on the front wheel. this was never an issue with my rev 3 . is there any obvious front end adustments that should be made based on this info or is this typical of the handling of the 4rt? i am 6 feet tall and 12.5 stone in weight. other than this the bike was awsome.

Theres quite a selection out there and I dont want to get the wrong ones. Also while I have the casing off is there anything else I should replace, seals, bearings, springs, ect. Thanks tom

New I may be but I have lots of questions. I have 2007/2008 Rt and no owners manual as the bike didnt come from previous owner with one. Would anyone know where to look to download, or possibly be able to copy the one they have to PDF so that I can have a better understanding of the servicing and maintainance thats needs to done and when. I think that Trials Central could build up a data base of manuals on PDF for all the bikes out there. Its so easy to do and so useful to have information all in one place. cheers and happy new year to you all. ali

Hey Guys; The front brake on my bike keeps sticking meaning that the wheel wont turn freely. I have took the calliper apart and cleaning up the internals but it appears one of the pistons is still not fully returning. I have ordered a brake service kit (pistons and seals) that I am going to install before the weekend. Does anyone have any tips or things I should be aware of when putting it all back together? Also what is the most effective way to bleed the brake afterwards? Thanks in advance.

Hi bought myself a 242 few months ago. I'm surprised how little there seem to be around. What's the reasons for this any ideas? Also is there a way of stiffening up front an rear suspension without spending a fortune seem to be bottoming it all out. But I am 17st so not really surprised. Thanks in advance

My bike started ok at today's trial as usual, did the first 2 sections no problem but at section 3 the wind blew it over while I was looking at the section, when I got back to it and picked it up it would not start ? It took about 5 mins of kicking and when it did start it was bogged down as if it was a 2 Stoke with a flooded carb, I cleared its throat and rode the section no problems, had to stop shortly after to get through a gate and it would not start again, this time I adjusted the screw on the throttle body and got it going again but it was bogging again. Got to the next section with the bike running fine stopped it looked at the sections and it started 1st kick whe…

I was wondering if this is common or just a one off. My less than year old, 2015 4RT has a problem with the kick start lever. The lug that engages when it's folded out has cracked and deformed. It seems the alloy is really soft. Apart from putting the lever at too much angle, I can see this is going to fail in the middle of a ride somewhere. This bike hasn't had that much use because it's not my only bike. And other bikes I've owned have never had such a problem even after 10 years of hard use. And before you suggest it, I am very gentle on the kick starter. The bike starts better with a slow push than a stab. I'm happy to purchase a new genuine lever but n…

Montesa people Anyone have recommendations on running new maps for my 4rt. I'm new to the bike and to the sport. I was getting more stalls than I should, so one of the local guys had me do a "tree test" - front wheel on the tree and slowly let out the clutch. My new ride died way to quickly cos I was running the wet map. On the dry map it was a little better but still died too early. So maybe I just need to tune the mix here - or maybe I need to understand this whole programmable map deal and start to work with the system. Comments, recomendatins, thoughts? Thanks

  18. I'm putting dimpled plates in my '17 260 and the clutch actuator is built into the side cover, is there anything I should be aware of when I remove the cover? Anyone run dimpled plates and do you have any issues or concerns? Thanks

Hello , I've recently purchased a 2006 4RT and noticed that the air box has a spigot on the bottom with a hole through it. I guess this is to let water out, but should it have a pipe or something attached to it? Many thanks.

I'm back after a long hiatus just couldn't keep away from the throttle, my last bike was a 2002 Sherco 2.9 I had an opportunity to purchase a Montesa Cota 247 COMPLETELY rebuilt New everything. New main bearings, rebored, new piston, new rings, chains, It has only been run for about 30 minutes after the rebuild. The owner is unsure of the year at this point it has been sitting a good number of years, my main question is about the break in period I have no idea on this bike Also any help of mixing ratio's , Crankcase oil, or other valuable information would be greatly appreciated I should have it in a couple weeks and I'll look for numbers on the frame…
